  1. Would be easy to spray paint a normal one, no? just have to find the right paint. The trouble would be the decal on the torso. Maybe that's what I will do. Spray paint k3p0 from the hoth base set if I didn't get lucky on the SW sets I am buying later half of 2007.
  2. Two words: UCS RGS. :-P minifig scale! two more words: UCS AT-AT minifig scale! (I know there are more than 2 "words"
  3. dont think a ucs mf size at-at is too large. :-P hell, look at the millenium falcon. rock on ucs mf size iconic sw machines!
  4. well, harry potter and Lego just don't mix. meh :-/ but i guess that means i gotta collect the last hogwart castle set then. hopefully from a sale! :-P it's got everything, hagrid, dumbledore, harry, rodney, hermione, etc. :-P gotta find another franchise to replace lego SW.
  5. amazon prime now has 15% on selected lego sets. deal ends july 31. http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/105-...101911&plpage=3 offer began july 9, and sail barge went oos very quickly but it came back in stock july 20 but is now oos again. i got one for myself. if you are interested, keep checking daily or maybe even hourly. it might come back in stock. other notable sets: general grevious starfighter tie interceptor creator house fire station aqua base station batcave spongebob ----------------------------------------------- target store having clearance on 2006 sets. in stores only. currently 30% off. for some reason the new fire station was also on sale. other than that, i saw the following that may be of interest... mythical creatures (Creator) mobile defense tank (EF set) some ferarris (not interested) including the new red/yellow switcheroo set. bionicle action figure and play sets (not interested)
  6. seems like they infuse system sets with more technic bars. must be that technic isn't selling too well and they want to educate ppl how cool technic can be. :-P it's quite apparent when even the small bike needed technic frame.
  7. i dont know about you, i think EF is going to be a disappointment next year. it's getting so predictable. 6 sets in the first wave. 4 large stick figures and 2 small ones. it's getting old for me, building $15 stick figures. indy sounds promising. will have to see. SW getting weirder. going to stick with PT and OT sets. EU is just too weird. Impulse sounds good. mostly going to get the knight and the magician. i'm mostly going to wait for better castle sets and the creator or factory series. *wub* can't wait to see what will come next after market street.
  8. Hey, we already have the UCS MF. It's not that much bigger than that. :-P although to make the UCS walk would be another story!
  9. That's so backhanded in terms of positive view. It's saying it's so bad that it can't possibly get any worse.
  10. After 6 pages of staying silent, it's now time for MY 2 cents. :-P If there isn't a UCS version in mf size, I would be getting this. It's not easy making a visually accurate model that still walks. While it's not super accurate, I have to say it's a good asthetic model that can WALK. Yeah, at time I like to display it, but a lego model that can move and all that fun stuff? Hell yeah. We all like to play with our lego models occasionally (KimT swooshing in the nude, for eg. :-P) and it's definitely a nice feature to have considering that the model looks good to begin with. I can't see the point with the silly motorized dino or the ferris wheel, but the AT-AT is something else! I can now swoosh around my snowspeeder with luke in it (from the hoth base set) and re-enacting the hoth scene while zipping (not in the nude mind you) around the legs of my motorized AT-AT which is moving about on its own. :-P now how cool is that versus your static AT-AT? the only downside i can see is that the AT-AT is not MF size, which is terrible considering i wanted to swoosh my SS around it, so it has to be MF size!! >:(
  11. it's hard to make one with good articulation and yet not "bionicle" like from system bricks. so i wont necessary penalize lego for making the viking dragons. of all the dragons available, i would say viking dragon is the best. the classic dragon is one big piece and hardly dragon size. the new dragon while is more like a dragon is made of yet more big pieces. and i'm all for new horses! yay hinckley!
  12. not me. i'm so pissed off i'm never going back to TBB. boo!
  13. viking sets on sale. 7/3/07 viking fortress $34.98 viking army $14.98 viking boat $4.98 catapult and ofnir dragon $19.98 the other three viking sets are sold out. there's also the viking chess set on sale for $24.98
  14. no it's not platinum, it's the studs that are expensive!! studs i tell ya!! http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...=0entry169881 :-P
  15. precious princess is quite good quality but rather expensive. i like colene's haven but she is moving to mn and her shop will be closed for a while.
  16. i have bad experience with tbb too. claimed 15 torsos and sent me 14. never reply, or reply and never ship. rip off. then i bought like 20-30 or so police officers and most of them came with the prints half gone. one was especially bad, all prints missing and not even the badge was present. so i asked for replacement and if i need to ship the old one back. said i can keep it and replacement was shipped. never receive. once, twice, i can understand but every single instance it's the same case. boo. there are a few shops that sell good used items. i generally go with the fewer rated shops. those can't afford bad ratings and usually describe the condition of their bricks on the store front. slight use means slight use. i bought used chrome gold and chrome silver pieces that look like new. for buying new lego, if you expect a sale soon buy them a week earlier. you can get price matching if they have a sale later plus you wont have to risk them selling out during the sale. if no sale happen, you can always return the unopened boxes. but that only works for adults with good self control. if you end up opening every box you buy then... :-P
  17. lego did listen to afols wanting storage units. but is it just me or does anyone else find the prices ridiculous? storage tray unit is $49.99. for that price you can get 2-3 from your local homedepot, lowes, ikea, or even supermarket. then you have your stacking bins for $149.99??? again, price that is 4x what you can get from target or ikea. and the rolling box is priced at $119.99. even at full retail, you can get wooden rolling boxes for much cheaper. also, toy chest at $149.99, stool at $59.99 and table for $149.99, what are they selling? mahogany furniture or what? alright...gotta conceed that they include "free shipping" so we need to include shipping cost as well, but dont think it will come to 4-5x normal retail. apart from the novelty studs, there's nothing special about the bright colored wooden furniture. and i am not paying 3-4x more just so i can have studs on my furniture.
  18. boy...you are much faster than i am. wanted to post that too. striking venom and sentai fortress (with the nice silent strike) also on 50% sale. good time to pick up a few of those. striking is nice at $25. lots of robots for that price. sentai too is quite cheap since you will be getting 2 large mechs and lots of figures.
  19. With the dwarves mining set, you will get your troll and then you can re-enact that shrek scene! :-P
  20. That's a great idea. I hope new metal color scimitars will come in 2008 sets! I absolutely love the flexibility of use of those things. You can make an oriental halberd off of it too.
  21. agreed. some ppl just have their panties wound too tight, imo. :-P cant be too critical about everything. if nothing is ever right, then start your own moc sets or own company and DIY.
  22. Instead of elves, just call them forestmen. :-P bring back robin hood and his merry men!
  23. Wow, if the tru 6212 is to be believed, the Luke marque costs $50. but that looks so cool. Definitely a keeper.
  24. Megabloks have a new gundam line. They cost a lot too. The gundam is like $100 and zaku is also $100. both are for sale in japan. Doesn't look <insert that tiresome argument>. For the EF theme, I'm going to stress this again, most mechs should be small. Kinda in the same size as cyclone defender, maybe slightly smaller. But pump it up a little. The back is so bare, the front armor is a joke. The cockpit is so exposed. Some of the fan models on brickshelf are so impressive and look so sturdy, I don
