I guess they ran out of ways to construct stick figures. :-D I would have like it if they made smaller mechs, like armor suits instead (about 2-3 mf tall). Bulkier mechs and fully armored (read as no large gaping holes) would have been great too. Make the mechs too large and you just destroy the collecting aspect of it. Who wants to have 6-12 inch mega stick figures all over their desks? On the other hand, small 2-3 inch mechs are just adorable and kickass! You can have a mini battle on your desk right there! And make better robot mechs. Gundam's zakus aren't pushovers but the EF robots seem like hastily built crap metal from junkyards.

It's supposed to be underground. But as with all lego construction, you can't build a basement out of lego. What you need is to dig a hole in your carpet or floor, and place the entire structure in it. That way, the top will be at the ground level and it will be a real lego mine model! :-P But yeah, you can't have a nice ground level model and have play value from non-moving parts. While I like the vladek's helmet, I kinda wish they made a few new ones (or recycle old ones). The good guy clans all have a nice variety of helmets, while the undead/bad guy only have that or nothing. Where is the love? :-P let's make something for the knights vs the foot soldiers vs orcs vs archers. I kinda like the troll's helmet. Nice and chic! :-P

Well, the mech isn't so bad. But the 4legged robot is. That's quite sad. Oh well, glad I'm switching themes this year to CASTLE! Booyah.

Wow. It's a new faction. Look at the round shield closely. While the colors are the same, the icon is a dwarven helmet instead of the crown. So we can safely say they are alliances rather than of the same team. Same goes for the enemies. The tower shield has a different icon than the skeletal head. Not quite sure what it is. Looks to be a scorpion or snake. The golden winged helmet, the new flaming swords are great. Looking at the troll, it seems it has large hands. Not sure how its weapon would fit in. it will probably be as large as the playfigure KK knights. But those are "+" axles, not round axles. But if they make the weapons handle small enough for mf to use, then the weapons would look odd. Anyhow, that's a great new castle subtheme.

No you can't. I think in the past, they randomly chose the sets for you too (eg, someone would get the exoforce set and another may get the dino attack). So it's quite possible that even if you subscribed you may not get the sets you want. I hope they won't do that going forward because SW, city (and I am speculating here, IJ and new castle) sets/mfs are more valuable that others. I would be pissed if I didn't get a SW set.

I don't think JB will be a good lego hit. 1. only JB is the only prominent figure. No one else on the good guys' team. 2. no notable bad guys worth collecting. Most are forgettable. 3. while the generic russian soldier will be good for army building, apart from this, there is very little army building potential with the JB line. So conclusion is that JB will be a bigger failure than Batman because: 1. in the batman series, you still want to collect alfred the butler, batman in 2 costumes, nightwing and robin 2. lots of high profile bad guys like iceman, penguin, riddler, bane, etc. 3. same - the theme is not good for any army building.

well, one is japanese mecha. the other is western futuristic. so guess not. :-P mars is beginning to grow on me, at least for the human sets. the aliens still :-X but that's the same with exoforce's robots. 2007 robot sets suck. 2006 robot sets were much better. the combo was better, the flagship sets were better. then there's the bridge walker! superbly done. 2007 is just so crappy compared to 2006 (robots). the small recon ships while a nice novel idea, sucks in terms of implementation. would be better to design it like the mars human mini recon ship. as for the large battle tank, while i like the covered cockpit and the top gunner's cockpit, the entire frame of the tank was so shoddily constructed that it sucks. i dont understand the pods for captured humans. do robots capture humans? i thought they wanted them gone. ;-) they should have dropped the giant wheels, got rid of the technic frame and made a real tank. i mean they have the clone turbo tank and so many countless past designs to go with (ie from the space series, like mtron, blacktron, etc). even if they can't access historical set designs, they could have gotten ideas from how to construct a nice hollow body from the ILC or even jabba's sailbarge. the ILC cost $50 (with some additional cost for licensing) so there's plenty of money left to make the blazing falcon, recon ships, etc. or, they could have sold recon ships as separate sets, build a much better frame using JSB's design. how cool would it be to have sets that can add to each other? for eg, a base tank that has space available for add-ons, like 3 recon ships, 2 turrets, one escape pod (?) maybe? instead, they set out to design sets as stand alone. bah. :-P oh well, here's hoping that they learn from the experience and make better designs for 2008. the key word (if TLG or reps are listening) is MODULAR DESIGN. yes, make sets that can compliment each other. sets that can add on to make the big sets bigger. i just dont see why modularity only extends to afol sets like market place and cafe corner. :-P make the good stuff for all themes, lego! in case this post is too negative, thanks for the good sets too (hayato has it so good in 2007! two of the best sets of 2007). but u know how ppl never talk about the positive. :-P and we all know 2007 will be known as the year afols went bankrupt despite the bad sets. :-P on second thoughts...let's just stick to bad sets for some of the themes. :-P i gotta drop something else if i am to pick up indy jones!

let's stick to topic shall we? ;-) this talk about chocolate is futile anyway. we all know the best chocolate is belgian...same with beer. ;-) actually now that i have time to think about it, i think you guys dont need to worry about a thing. i recall seeing some of the brickmaster mags, and the exclusive sets they have are mostly constructed of bricks. i remember just seeing an exclusive set in the past month or so. the set was a batman mecha. they call it mecha but it's really a robot in the shape of batman. you can probably make it yourself using bricks. i dunno...maybe i will subscribe and review the sets for EB. :-P

blazing falcon is hers? hmm, i guess lego got the mf mixed up in the wrong sets. :-D i think the purple and black sucks. should just make her full purple if that be the case. her story sounds familiar. i guess lego has been reading the forums and decided to use a few fans' stories. :-P well, now we know for sure that tlg listen to the fans... maybe not often but they sure do. :-D

au contrary. us is still small compared to eu. the reason for the super duper exclusive deals is to entice more future customers. just like cellphone and cable companies providing promos and special packages/deals to new customers instead of old. since they feel us can still grow, they give more promo to us customers. :-P just migrate to the us...like the beckhams! :-)

well, i hope the 6 sets will have star wars or indiana jones unique mfs. if it's mostly bionicle i am going to be so pissed off. >:-( *n* 6 sets for $39.99 isn't that bad, tbh. the risk of missing out on any exclusive mfs (sw or ij) is too high to pass up on this. :-P i guess i gotta sign up come july 16!

I don't customize but if you do, try polishing the cut edge until you get a refined look. It will look a lot less butchered.

Wow. This is great news. Now I can make a nazi moc. I've been a fan of the pc game commando and commando 2, where you play british commandos out to sabotage the nazi's operation. Great to be able to recreate scenes from that game in true lego style!

I don't see why lego doesn't do an underwater city theme. How about this for a story? In the year 2030 AD, humans now inhabit the waters after overpoluting the land. You can have an underwater mining set, an explorer set, a refueling station, a water patrol set (your underwater police), etc. for action, you can have sea monsters or aquatic mermen attacking the humans for occupying their territory. Or you can try underwater pirates! Opps
