A lot of times it depends on the situation. Whenever I've needed a generic brick, I've just gotten the automated response and the piece arrived a week or so later. But the few times that I've needed parts specific to a set that were missing, they sent me follow up emails. In this case, I would definitely expect that Lego contacts the OP instead of just sending out 6 figures!

As other people have said, these are not the final products. There will undoubtedly be changes to the sets by the time they are released. It's nice to get a Plo Koon in a cheap set, I'll be looking to pick that up even if the set is listed as CW. He's one of the few CW figs that doesn't look ridiculous. Palpy's shuttle is the best of the lot though, IMO. Everything I have read has indicated that it will be an EPIII set so I'll be looking forward to getting that one for sure. Though it's hard to tell, the Bossk fig appears that it's going to turn out very nicely. I'll pass on the CTT, but the vehicle itself looks much better than the 2005 version. Overall it looks like the summer sets will be a big hit though. I'm patiently looking forward to them!

Agreed on all counts.

What LEGO do you expect under the tree this year?
Destroydacre replied to Legoliner Pilot's topic in General LEGO Discussion
For the most part, I buy all my own Lego sets, so I didn't ask for any. However, I haven't gotten around to buying Home One or Endor yet, but it's been recommended that I not buy either until after Christmas is over. We'll see I guess. -
Supposedly the TRU here doesn't have the new sets either, but that's okay. I'd rather wait for them to come to Wal-mart or Target and pay up to $10 fewer for each set. I'll have to check the Wal-Mart here and see if they have the midi falcon for $25.

I've made 1 bricklink order so far totaling a whopping 11 dollars. I'm sure I'll make more orders in the future, but I'm good for the moment.

A lot of the "errors" listed in this thread seem extremely nitpicky to me. I really don't see how having a dash in trap door is an error. I've seen it written both ways. I won't go into detail, but many other errors fall into the trivial category, IMO.

As others have said, the capes fray due to wear from playing. When I was a kid, I always took the capes off my figs because they got in the way. Who knew that it would stop them from fraying!

Shipwreck Hideout - not so limited anymore?
Destroydacre replied to Lorentzen's topic in LEGO Pirates
Similar situation where I live. TRU is the only store that I've seen carry the Shipwreck Hideout in the States as well. They used to have one about 15 minutes from where I live, but they changed it to a Babies R Us and now the closest one is close to an hour away. Not the worst, but still when one used to be only 15 minutes away, it's kind of aggravating. It other news, it looks like the Shipwreck Hideout is sold out on S@H at least in the United States. -
I agree. I will be interested though to see if that helmet is specifically detailed after someone in ESB or if Lego just created that design on their own.

What was the last movie you watched?
Destroydacre replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I watched The Ninth Gate for the first time last night. It was different that's for sure, but I can't say I hated it, though the ending was pretty anti-climactic. I don't think I'll ever watch it again on my own accord, but I wouldn't get up and leave if someone else put it on. -
Lego and the equality of the Sexes.
Destroydacre replied to harrysnapperorgans's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I see a lot of generalizing in this thread, but for most of us that's how society has shaped our views as we grew up. I'd like to see more female minifigures, because in real life I believe there are more women in the world than men. It would be nice to see at least the town sets reflect that, and you are seeing more and more female figs included in sets whereas you rarely used to see any. In the late 90's a lot of themes started including one female character which was a move in the right direction and it looks like Lego has expanded on that some since. Obviously you won't see too many women in the pirate or castle lines and that is more understandable, but it is nice to see some queens/mistresses etc be included in those lines since 2000. Wenches and Maidens especially were harder to come by throughout the 90s. Obviously in themes like Star Wars etc, the characters are fixed so you really don't have any control over the genders of minifigs released. However I know for me, when I was growing up Lego was much more about building stuff than it was the minifigures, so for people with similar views as me, having the majority of figures being male wouldn't be a deterrent for females wishing to play with Lego. -
I finally got around to purchasing a 10178 Motorized AT-AT figuring it's a set that won't be around much longer. I'm pretty interested to see how well it actually walks and it was the last set I needed to round off my Hoth collection, at least until the battle packs are released.

What's the Biggest and Smallest Lego Piece of All Time?
Destroydacre replied to JCC1004's topic in General LEGO Discussion
They are tied together by density. If the plastics all pieces were made of were identical then we could assume that if one piece had a greater mass, then it would also have a greater volume. But obviously Lego doesn't use the same plastics for everything so that comparison can't be made. But as others have said, without testing, it is very hard to tell which pieces have the largest and smallest volumes. -
I'd like to wish a happy Thanksgiving to everyone as well!

I seem to recall having a problem with the largest turret as well. I forget how the instructions look though, but the bar not fitting in the cone sounds familiar. I just checked mine and what I did was I took the red bar and stuck it into the round piece with the fins and then attached the cone to the stud on top of the round part. Worked fine for me.

According to peeron (which doesn't include everything I own, but it does have most) my collection is worth $9,612.25.

Shipwreck Hideout - not so limited anymore?
Destroydacre replied to Lorentzen's topic in LEGO Pirates
On the pirates page at S@H the Shipwreck Hideout is still listed as hard to find which leads me to believe that the set still carries the limited edition tag. Every set with the limited edition marking that I have ever seen is also listed as hard to find on S@H. -
Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
Destroydacre replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
If the new imperial ship doesn't have one (and it appears that it won't) then I doubt we'll ever see new ones released again, but you never know.- 502 replies

The Eurobricks Reviewers Academy
Destroydacre replied to Bonaparte's topic in Forum Information and Help
After some deliberating I do believe that I have the time to devote to this right now. I'd like to join. -
Both my cats bat the cannons around if I leave them out on a table despite the fact I've never shot a cannon at either of them. Must be those keen feline senses. Since I live in the US, I do have to say how nice it is to have shooting cannons in the states again. Up until last year I had to purchase shooting cannons from overseas. Gets pretty expensive.

I'm going to have to disagree. I prefer the old one. Sometimes newer isn't always better. Thanks for the review Inconspicuous! The prices some of these brickmaster sets sell for on ebay is outrageous.

Anyone know if the Tie-Defender comes with a stand to display it on like the first Tie-Fighter did? Just having the defender sitting on its wings would look kind of awkward IMO.
-
That's pretty sad, but it is good to know. I rarely handle my figs and when I do, I always hold them on the sides, so I haven't had any problems. Still as many have stated it's a toy designed for children first so this will probably be a pretty common occurrence. For any ebayers out there, I'd make sure to double check all photos before buying figs for your armies!

I personallly don't hate it. But it seems overpriced to me. In the US it's $40 for 350 pieces (no minifigs) with dimensions of 9x6x3 (IIRC). That just doesn't do it for me. It does look nice, but I don't think that it's worth $40. The max I would pay for it would probably be $25. I have the first 2 falcons, so a third system falcon isn't really something I'm dying for Lego to make, but I wouldn't be upset at all if they did. It's such a popular ship, I'm kind of surprised they haven't made another $100 one despite the fact that they made a UCS falcon. I think a system falcon would still sell exceptionally well. The first 2 sure did.
