If anyone is interested I built my own visual basic program to talk to the serial port using mscomm. It can turn motors on and off and detect button presses and also return hex values for all inputs. Its not finished yet but let me know if anyone else has a dacta control panel (interface b)

My new project is currently using around 700 new track pieces and might be increased to over 1000. There is a limit to the amount of track, its your wallet!

Nice build mate, how on earth did you get so many big wheels. Are they the ones from the power puller?

Hmm, to be honest RIS software for its time (+ Robot Lab) was a lot simplier than the NXT software however I would say it is a lot more limited. I tried to do the simplest things in NXT 1 and it was horrible. RIS has always been quite easy to use to me and good for testing simple things. I would say RIS would work for 10 to say 14 year olds and NXT 14-16

Glad it was useful mate, anything else you want me to build :) I am going to work on a compressor with auto power next. So once it reaches a certain pressure it stops, been done millions of times before but i need one for my next project

I agree with Jetro as I dont do much with the clutch and more info on it would be very useful

I read somewhere that the RCX 1.0 can control PF functions (RCX 2 uses a different frequency). If this is true then why cant the serial tower control power functions? Anyone?

Yeah, I used a rubber band as the cog ratio ment it would always be better on one side than the other

I was assuming the person who reported this ment there would be no 2011 sets as you are correct 2010 sets have appeared I think Lego would be in serious trouble if they got rid of technic (and even bionicle). I think ever kid I know (friends kids) have at least 1 bionicle

I would be shocked if lego stopped technic, I think I would ring them up and scream at them. Thats like them stopping the mini fig!

Now that is a good moc, I mean I can stare at that for hours, the only improvement I could suggest is add some power functions to it, however its just fantasic, got to keep that, dont break it up

I got hitechnic colour sensor off ebay (not sure if its v1 or v2 yet) and though its cool I cant think of a real reason I need it yet The v1 software was crap, I went and brought RobotC as I just found it sooo bad (I am a programmer). So v2 software could be a positive reason to get it. Unless its a present or cheap. I wont be getting nxt 2. Brinklink, Hitechnic and RobotC all the way
