If it is a fast moving vechicle I would use self centering because your not going to be having it on full lock for long unless your doing donuts. If its a slow moving vechicle then use a actuato r/ worm gear or some other system that does not use the motor to keep it at a certain angle. Only my view :)

I plan to move after my honeymoon in April and have around 400 built sets to take a part. Some of them will be a real pain like the harry potter ones that merge in to a bigger set :( Bag and tag all the way! -
I would buy it too, looks great

A fine start mate, next we get you using NXT's. Using lego to make models is good, making them models move is better :) Remember you can control up to 8 motors from a single PF controller by switching channels (16 if you want only one direction) -
a few questions
Burf2000 replied to RXBandit's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hello there I have a space issue to, I find that if you carefully take the top of the box off, you can use that as the tray to build out of. Else get one of them fold away tables. Technic is used by loads and loads, even people who build city or space or whatever use technic in there models at some point. I will amit there seems to be a lot more castle, space, city, train builders but after talking to a few I think its down to are you artist or a engineer at heart. Also some people struggle with technic. I am a big fan of the older technic (studded) however the new technic motors, pf, nxt is brilliant! I dont think technic sets are as reuseable as they used to be as they seem to have more parts that are for 1 set only. If I can help in any other way let me know. The Technic Bulldozer is a great set to get if you can find it -

I just built a version of this using the old 9v motor (71427) if anyone is interested. I have a lot more of the old 9v motors than I do PF -
Great picture mate, I thought I had the full collection but there is a little one I am missing (plus the new flag ship one)

[IDEA] Pneumatic autovalve 2
Burf2000 replied to Fistach's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I just built it and it does work really well, You do need the gap between the holding bar and the switch or else you dont get enough flex to turn on or return (well mine did not) Anyonw got suggestions on how to make one that does not affect the motor? Its not likely to kill the motor is it? -

I cant wait to try this tonight because the hockey one just does not work that well (the one I made) it seems to work for one side better than the other because you have to gear it due to lack of movement. Mine works ok but not as well as I would like. its also bulkier. Brilliant work mate -

I already done this and posted a video on youtube. Did it for someone on the forum. However under higher pressure 20+ psi it seems to fail I am really looking forward to building this tonight, I am amazed that this autoreturns to center. Brilliant work -

Looks good, jesus 11 motors, how you powering them and what do they do. Are you planning on a video showing it off soon? -
I was amazed to fine out Lego put cut off switches on these things in the first place The rechargable battery seems to do fine with 2 xl motors. I was going to use the RC car base (the one that take 6 aa batteries and drives 2 5292 motors plus a stearing unit) however because it needed to drive 2 of the motors at the same time plus the stearing unit to make it turn (i wired up 4 Polarity switchs so that turning left and forward on the RC control would drive 2 XL motors in opposite directions, and just forward on the control would drive 2 motors forward) just lost sooo much power (not a suprise really). So I had to come back to PF. I now just got some bluetooth stuff going so it might be come a NXT/PF hybrid) Merry Xmas

I love low cars, (used to be in to cars and modding quiet a bit), anyway the model looks very nice mate, is it motorised? if it is not, do it. The only bit I might of changed is putting a spacer behind the fan on the engine so the rod does not stick out the front, a tiny thing but a real life one would not have a rod sticking out the front of the fan. Keep up the good work
