  1. Some of you may or may not know about this project, I first saw a topic about giant wheels a few months back and got inspired by one person post (S**t forgetten his name). Then I posted about a turn table issue which lots of people helped with (many thanks, especially to Alasdair Ryan). Now as you can see (sorry for the shaking at the start, it goes quickly) it moves really well. I did have to have some support wheels however its swings and roundabout to remove them. Less wheels, move leaning, more chance of crashing etc. It did go head first in to an Christmas tree and require a lot of fixing before the support wheels where added.
  2. My Youtube My FlickR My Blog
  3. Just checking you can drive and turn these wheels as it would work well for one of the things I am thinking of upscaling.
  4. Awesome stuff mate, do you think you could mate it do a full loop to loop?
  5. Some very interest stuff on here. I thought my 3 axel arm was quite cool but I need to make something like these ones!
  6. Well cool, I must make another one at some point!
  7. That would be cool, I could see this being used for a range of things
  8. Maybe we could try some stuff out as its an area I am interested in. c# should be easier to learn than Java. I am a developer anyway so that won't be a issue!
  9. This is a bloody good model for a first moc, some very interesting things on it! Poor teddy though!
  10. Though I have the books and not read them, some of the Lejos books cover this. Sounds like your doing something I wanted to do. I do have plans to do a lot of web cam stuff
  11. So NXT Remote is Android based and allows you to use direct commands. I changed this so I could send my own commands to RobotC RobotC to RobotC (NXT to NXT) via bluetooth in version 2 was pretty simple enough, I think they have changed it in 3 but I know someone who can help there. You can use microsoft robotics studio to control your NXT to, I believe. So it all depends on what you want to do. NXT to NXT (RobotC, NQC, Lejos etc) Phone to NXT (really has to be Android as IOS and WP7 have private Bluetooth stuff) PC to NXT (many things to chose from)
  12. Very cool design, are you going to make instructions?
  13. Hey there, I done a bluetooth connection in Android based off NXT Remote. Does that help in anyway? I also used RobotC between 2 NXT's
  14. Thats a monster well done mate! Looks good
  15. Rotacaster ship to the UK and so I believe they will ship to you. Also Hitechnics has become a reseller! These wheels are brilliant! Videos below show 48mm and 125mm.
  16. I think he might even have more technic Lego than me, well for now anyway. I have most technic sets but I have a lot of bulk!
  17. Mindsensor.com do some nice stuff for this!
  18. I have just made this and it actually works really well, the motor does get to rotate quite a bit due to the 8 to 40 tooth cog connection. Feels a solid build. Does use more parts than the other solutions and take up a bit more space HOWEVER, it does switch smoothly and does not feel like it is stressing the motor out so much. Good result!
  19. What would you like in the demo mate? Lift, mounting points etc. I was planning to show it off in a robot.
  20. I have not decided yet but thinking something on the large size. Maybe put the Terminator T1 body I am planning to do on it.
  21. Well spotted, they fitted the 48mm hubs to these for me as a test however I have asked them and if people are interested then they will make more. They really do rock!
  22. I do like that I used to have the same sort of setup but had to move :(
  23. Hey mate Its going to get a lot bigger, its going to be my extreme model meaning it will also use some of the metal linear actuators and some very cool mindsensor stuff once I get some time. I did get the wheels from Australia and the shipping was around $60 however I did get 8 of them and of the smaller ones. The big ones are quite heavy and so the shipping was actually pretty good value for money. If your interested in getting some, drop them a email. They are very friendly and helpful!
