  1. I completely see where you both are coming from. I don't plan to ever move away from Lego, just sometimes I need a bit extra strength or a LA that works well. Its not that much different to using 3rd party sensors.
  2. These wheels rock, so glad I managed to get some. Big thanks to http://Rotacaster.com.au I always find it hard to use large lego wheels like the Hailfire and Exoforce wheels. These have really opened up some fun possibilities for me as I build big.
  3. I was but because I build big, if I can have the odd one to improve strength then I am up for it. Also I am not the biggest fans of Lego's LA's they always jam on me :(
  4. Sorry dude, been busy and this stuff came through the post!
  5. This is a preview of some stuff I got sent and I can't wait to fully review it. JUST look at that linear actuator!! Thanks to Eezo from the Brick Machine Shop
  6. But how would you fit that to the actual wheel
  7. I was going to try and use that as the drive cog on to the wheel but the problem with them wheels are they have no mounting points. I also looked at the exoforce wheels
  8. That is purely epic mate, wow !!!! Last night I gave this a try based actually on Alasdair Ryan 's suggestion and came up with this that actually works well. Sorry I did not see the epic suggestion above A 24 tooth cog fits perfectly in the middle and randomly it works really really well!
  9. That is not 5 times 8 tooth gear? or is that a new name for a 24 tooth gear?
  10. Got any pictures of what your suggesting?
  11. Oh thats cool, thought it was a grammar issue which I struggle with a lot as dyslexic. To be fair you probably could give a better review than me however I would probably very enthusiastic. I am usually too enthusiastic lol.
  12. Keep us updated and let us know when the book is out mate. I will hopefully post a new Arm video soon and bring this back on topic soon.
  13. Are we going towards the grammar issues?
  14. lol, of course he need more than one person to review it!
  15. Let me know if you want someone to review it wink wink :)
  16. I give it a go tonight mate then, thanks for helping on this!
  17. I am pretty sure that will jump, I had it where a plate was the other side and it still jumped That looks like a good idea, might try that tonight. What I did work out last night is that each work gear is jumping in only 1 direction and so if I put double worm gears on (one underneath) then that should stop any jumping. I also thought I might put an axel through the wheels and drive it from the other side to. Then came up with a plan of releasing wait off the wheels and so then would be easier to turn. I did not sleep much last night!
  18. Did you release your book though?
  19. I have tried the worm gear, I basically used 2 3 x 5 studless right angle beams to brace hold the word gear within the turn table however it still jumps a little. There must be a way to stop it jumping?
  20. Notice the small issue with this there is no 3 x plate with a whole in it, and if there is, the whole is between studs, the only way I could see this matching up is by using jumpers to off set everything. I have gone with worms gears at the moment but they such big behind! they don't turn as nicely and still jump, I am going to see what else I can come up with as the turn table is under a LOT of force. It's a interesting and difficult problem to be honest. I don't think I would have the same issue if I did it studless.
  21. Really? or you taking the piss lol! I will do some improvements at the weekend and do another video. Just a simple prototype :)
  22. Brilliant idea, hope to try this out tonight! thanks !
  23. At the moment I have limited room on the other side and so I might extend the turntable out 1 stud so that I can get a beam to brace it. I am worried the locking of the worm gear may cause issues
