  1. That greenery jumped out at me too. I was thinking based on where it was that it was for the tauntauns to eat. They must have to import it though.
  2. Brandenburg Tor! Now that's an architecture set I can get excited about. The most recent ones just weren't very inspiring, in my opinion. I can't wait to see how this is designed.

    Checkmate

That's a great use of the door to represent the toilet paper. And so true about standing in the middle.... Good job!
  4. Mobricki, I think you're doing a great job, and I can't wait to see the final version. All it really needs now is to fly that Pittsburgh Steelers flag you have in the background, and it will be invincible!
  5. Thanks for those replies. I am grateful that we don't pay the prices I see everyone else paying. Sorry for straying off topic.
  6. My collection too has gotten out of control. Lets see. Sets in my office, in the back room (sort of my back office/storage), in the kids playroom (up on a window shelf), in the downstairs TV room, in the kitchen eating area, on top of the refrigerator, on the kitchen counter (!), in the dining room, and in my bedroom. There are Trains, SW, City, Creator, Pirates, POTC, CMFs, Kingdoms, a few MOCs, Cars, Toy Story. Pharoah's Quest just got put away. Not to mention the Duplo in the family room. I'm surprised my wife hasn't kicked me out. I just filled up two containers with sets that were out on display, too. Some of those were sets I recently bought, and like. But what can I do? And I'm thinking about buying some of the new SW? Am I crazy? I love Lego. I love building it. And I love playing/building with the kids. But something has to give. I was even thinking that maybe I ought to just limit myself to displaying 10 of my favorite sets, maybe rotating them. I don't know if I can do it. But I have to do something. And I have to figure out how to quit buying so much! At least my wife has convinced me to quit buying sets for my daughter. She just likes to build (she's three!). But it's pretty bad when I can't go in any store that sells Lego and not buy her a set. Honestly, though, I think she has the most fun recently just building out of the bucket for an hour or so the other day. I'm hopeless. PS: On the kitchen table, and the kitchen counter. Seriously, why does my wife let me stay here?
  7. I agree with Stoutfiles. I'm just not that impressed by the numbers anymore. If you have enough money, you can build a big army. And if you want to spend that much on army building... well, I'm still not impressed. I agree that it might be better to see creative ways that armies are displayed and used.
  8. I find it frustrating that many European countries have the summer wave SW sets and in the US we still haven't even seen Mace Windu's starfighter. Whatever the reason, it just doesn't make sense to me.
  9. That pirate hat/bandana really seems to work for me on a guy working in a shop. Good work, lightningtiger.
  10. Oh don't take me so seriously. I'm a closet accuracy freak just like you guys.
  11. Well, when I first posted about that book, I didn't think it would generate that much controversy. When I first read about those blueprints, I hadn't thought about them being preliminary, but that makes sense. Once we see better images, it should be easy to compare to the studio models to see how much difference there is. Then it could just be one more source to compare to. I wonder since there are actual pictures in the book if it's not meant to be a "before and after" kind of approach... an early concept compared to the final screen version. Kind of like they've been putting in the Clone Wars DVDs.
  12. Oh, no, you're the only one that does that...
  13. MrMan I see you've updated your group portrait of the Jedi. I can't wait to get the new ones. Jedi Bob increasingly stands out... he could use an update!
  14. At least from the front, the roof might look better if it was spread out over the whole middle section. I think it looks a bit out of place just over the one small section. You don't need it for the door mechanism, right?
  15. Well, I'm not sure if these are the same as in the other Blueprints books. I think they might be different. Certainly an interesting development, though.
  16. Brickdoctor and Fallenangel (and everyone), I just saw a brief preview on the Star Wars website for a new book called Blueprints. I haven't looked into it too much- it has its own website I haven't been able to check out yet. I don't know the provenance of the blueprints, but it could be interesting. www.theblueprintsbook.com It's expensive...
  17. That's funny. I haven't been there in a long time. Maybe it's time to go back. Wouldn't if be funny if someday maybe I'll sent you pictures of shed and garage ideas that I got from your workshop? I don't think my wife would let me hang that calender. Speaking of which, wouldn't it be funny to have a real sized calender like that but with minifigs?!
  18. I've been back and forth on this one. First, it was the only one I wanted. Then, when I saw the "big" play areas, I wasn't so sure. But you've sold me on it, NTF. This is a must buy for me, even if I never open up the play areas. I like the way Quinlan Vos looks.
  19. Well I'm a little bit late to the feedback, and AussieJimbo beat me too it, but I love the rack for the shovels. That's brilliant. Now if I could just do that in my real life sized shed... Great work on this one, lightning tiger.
  20. I'll get it. I'm not really unhappy with it. Maybe I'm boring, but I'd buy this before QAR. Though I'm getting increasingly tempted to get QAR.
  21. I'm middle aged... I swoosh when noone is around. Though, I disagree with your post on the other forum. I'd love to swoosh an UCS A-wing. Don't worry Praiter Yed, we're all a little bit not normal.
  22. Churchill is very happy too! Thanks Mister Phes, and thanks to everyone for making this a really fun contest!
  23. This is the one new release I was looking forward to, and I'm pretty disappointed. I think part of the reason I don't like it is proportion. There's really nothing in the nose, and the back compartment is cramped. I think the problem is that this is supposed to be a moderately large ship, but Lego designs it with a scale like its a starfighter. It almost comes off like the Venator or Tantive, which are large ships that look great from the outside, but are taken up by one or two scale play areas inside. Maybe overall with the outside appearance I'd say it doesn't look too bad, but open it up and it just fails for me.
  24. I don't know that I have alot to add beyond the postive/negative stuff that everyone's already pointed out. That being said, when I think about all of the summer wave sets, none of them really excite me that much. When all is said and done, though, I'd probably buy them all. So, on sets that don't do much for me, how much am I going to spend on the summer wave, compared to how much I'd spend on the SSD...? When I think of it that way, spending all that money on the SSD (instead of the summer wave sets) doesn't look so bad.
  25. Thanks for posting that, Ritz Brick. Well, there we have it. I'm not a big fan of the play feature, but I don't think it detracts from the overall look of the model. We don't get to see the bottom very well, or the rear (I missed the box pictures). Yep, I'll be getting it. Now where to put it...
