Holy Carp! That's a lot for one set! BTW, I'm pretty sure since this the PIRATE forum, your supposed to post PIRATE related stuff. There's a forum that's accually devoted to ALL crazy EBAY finds, and you might want to ppost this THERE instead.

I've seen CGH's, Teddy's, Perfectionist's, Phred's, and Errorist's brick built hulls. I would agree with you that the decks should be slightly shorter, so I think I'll make them 1/3 of a brick shorter. Also, like I said earlier, I DO NOT like the shape of the hull, and think it is far too wide, and have already started on v3, this time it's thinner Edit: Let's not forget Blackmoore's brick built hull!

East India Trading Co. soldiers! Look Out!
the_green_avenger replied to Mercenary's topic in LEGO Pirates
Accually I was the one that spelled it wrong The only good thing about MB is that it's like half the price of Lego But yeah, you have a good point, That would be really cool! Since lego has done Spongebob, I wonder If they'll be doing any other Nickelodian things? Same with Ben 10. I'm begining to wonder if lego is going to someday become a big enough corporate power where it someday takes over the world and builds a second moon comepletely out of LEGO LOL, I don't think TLG will be too happy about me releasing their secret plan... Edit: At least then we'd have a Lego PotC Line! -
Alright, here's whats been going on with the project for the past few days: 1. I asked a friend of mine, Syd Ulrich, if I could borrow some (as in ALOT) of his Legos, And he was nice enough to agree, and he said he'd give them to me tomorrow. 2. I recieved an E-mail from lego saying that my order shipped out on tuesday, and should be in soon 3. I worked some on the hull, though I'm thinking It's a bit wide at the moment, so I'll probably be doing a v3 if it doesn't turn out right Anywho, here's a pic: 4. I also worked on making a crew, and so far have 45, however I will have Charles Darwin and Robert Fitzroy figs soon. Pic:

I'm doing an HMS Beagle Recreation, so I would really like a torso design for Charles Darwin and Robert Fitzroy (Nevermind the Robert Fitzroy, I already made my own)

WOW Thats REALLY REALLY nice for a first! amazingly well done! Thought of giving it some rigging? (that's not made of plastic)

East India Trading Co. soldiers! Look Out!
the_green_avenger replied to Mercenary's topic in LEGO Pirates
I wish megablocks wouldn't of stolen the POTC line That would've been really awesome if the were POTC lego sets, I definately would've bought some (esspecially the ENDEAVOUR, mwahaha) As for East India Trading Co. Soldiers, they're pretty much exactly the same as the old redcoats, so I really don't think its neccesary to have them -
I think the guy's hat looks alright, though he doesn't exactly seem like a captain The barrel on the roof is supposed to be a chimney

I can see why its your favorite! Amazing work! This looks like it could be an official lego set!

WIP: Le Défenseur A French Frigate
the_green_avenger replied to General Armendariz's topic in Pirate MOCs
Just leave it as is. On VERY large ships, first, or second rate ones, In order to save space/make things less crowded the hammocks were usually put on the gun deck(s), though not neccisarily in between the cannons. On ships with only two decks below the main one, like yours, You would have some hammocks and possibly cabins in the orlop deck. If you wanted things to be less crowded (a ship like this would have AT LEAST 150 people) You might want to add hammocks on the gun deck. However... like I said earlier, you'll be perfectly fine if you leave it as is. Edit: That was a typo. I had meant to say 150. -
It is most definately the best Black Pearl Model I have ever seen!

Soldiers Arsenal on Clearance in the Lego Store
the_green_avenger replied to Dr. Steve's topic in LEGO Pirates
LOL I just realised on the sticker it says Soldier's big behind!!! -
Looks alright If you wan't your pictures to turn out better, turn your flash down low, zoom in from far away, and focus in a little better (if you can) Also, the pictures are far too large and your going to get yelled at by a moderator sooner or later...

If you look in the sketch of the ship, they are about the same height (which I happily provided in the first post) Also, I don't think I'll be making an interior of the hold, just the orlop/lower deck, and inside the sterncastle and forecastle. I'm trying to make it as accurate as possible . Here is a detailed sketch of the masts and spars:
-
I got bored, so I decided to mess around a bit with the masts, etc... Here is a shot with the heights of all the different decks: Here is an overall shot w/ all the masts, not including the main mast: A shot of the foremast: If these shots aren't convincing enough that the ship is minifig scale, then I don't know what is...

Teddy's HMS Victory inspired me to make a replica, the HMS Beagle (not sure if thats what you mean)

Thanks!

Got a link too the one on the left? Also, If you wanted to check out my MOCs, There's links in my sig. The only pirate sets I have, are Pirate Island and Black Seas Barracuda Edit: Rochester: Circumstance:

IMO Those cannons look real nice! Good idea on making it longer! However, I think the Sterncastle (captain's cabin) shouldn't be overhanging so much. For the purpose of it being realistic, you might try and make it half as long as it already is. Like I sadi before: Amazing work for an LDD ship! Love it!

Check out my post on the matter

I've got a lot of bricks, plus I'll borrow some from a friend if I have to.... (It's just the white plates that I'm really in need of, plus some tan plates)
-
I find it easier and more reliable when buying off S@H. It was $16 (without shipping and tax) for 250 pieces, which is maybe 2,3 dollars more than bricklink. Plus BL got my order of six 1x2x4 750 inveted sloped pieces skrewed up horribly
-
In a painting by the ship's artist, the hull is white. Also, I have very few brown pieces, and would like to keep the ship under $50
