Lord Admiral Lockhart
the_green_avenger replied to NewRight's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
An interesting use of the piece. Though everyone else is right, it might look a little funny from the front. Making something out of fabric to fit the spot might make the front look better. -
Pirates of Penzance Decals
the_green_avenger replied to Hound Knight's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Looks like bonapartes got another one to index... Very well detailed if I say so myself Is the application of the face decals pretty much the same as applicating the torso decals? -
Awesome! Is the predator helmet sculpty clay too? Very nice work Whatchya makin all those aliens for?

Pirate/ Colonial Wig

not sure what store your talking about. Anyway, looks awesome Lets see if I might be able to make some for my extremely large redcoat battalion. Wonder if I could get a tricorne to fit over it Is it very hard to make these? -
if your going to use cloth, why worry about doing it in lego? Also I think that it would look better if you didn't have st. georges cross on EVERY sail, maybe just on the main and fore masts' sails. Good work so far! By the way, were you going to use the regular old hull pieces in the place of those empty spaces?

Now taking YOUR ideas for NEW PARTS - LAST DAYS!
the_green_avenger replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
Your right, a variety in the sizes of hulls would be good. Maybe even some larger masts. Maybe some new stuff for making better bow decoration thingies or whatever they're called, instead of just using naked minifigs half the time. The sad part is, lego announced that they are currently discontinuing the pirate line. So I'm not exactly sure what this topic is really for in the first place. But, like all good things in life, something retarded just comes along and screws everything up. Like the fact that the new sets have dark brown hull pieces, it would be nice if they were a normal brown like in the BSB -
Thanks, I knew the name sounded familiar, but I didn't realy see anyone thats accually a "devoted" green coat through and through besides in a few contests, like the one you showed me, where they quickly switched back to one of the other two groups (red/blue)
-
I was thinking of starting a new group called the green coats (Green seems like an awesome color ) To represent those on the pirate side of the battle line. Any comments on the idea?

isn't this ship already complete? BTW glad you changed the fact that there are no Spanish Galleons with the title HMS such and such...

The Lion of Luebeck (sistership of the Adler)

What he said. Very nice P.S. What are you talking about? the sails look great! -
that's pretty amazing for being so small! I really like how you decided to use flags for the roof shingles.

My first (large) ship MOC. WIP - Feedback appreciated.
the_green_avenger replied to Duck's topic in Pirate MOCs
1. it seems like a good idea to extend the length, because of its great height. You should also do a two story tall captains cabin on the stern. 2. It doesnt nececarily matter where you put the ladder, as long as it would not be in the physical way of anything, so it would be best to put stairs/a ladder towreds the middle 3. The grander the better! 4. You ought to use a bit of red and or blue along with the brown and black, but maybe just for the windows or something, brown and black are rather dull, and i'm sure you would not want to make a ship already so magnificent dull. 5. which ever you would think go best. though in my opinion, blue goes best with brown and black (as well as yellow) now that ive answered your questions, would you please answer the ones i have about my wip: the hms regal empress EDIT: woups! gues i didnt see the update. I like it better when updates are added to the original post... -
the instructions can be found here and you should definately find the bricks you need on bricklink.
-
I would reccomend that you build a nice small ship much like these two, but try and make a hull with standard lego bricks like mine. Other than that, those ships are looking really good! I can never get very good color schemes when I build with lego, and you seem like you might have a sugestion for the color scheme of my new ship in the link I gave you.

Build a frigate with Captain Green Hair
the_green_avenger replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
thanks rick! Nice ship you got going there cgh! But shouldn't you be working on the prins willem... -
Wow! the lego company ought to sell something like this. What kind of ship is it supposed to be any way? Brig? I always like to see custom sails and flags. rigging is always nice to. there are plenty of things I could say about this ship, all of them good. P.S. are you really from hong kong?

Can anyone (say me) enter this contest?

Build a frigate with Captain Green Hair
the_green_avenger replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
I dont really get it. Are you and a few other guys just making instructions for your newest ship? anyway, it looks interesting -
Nice! I really wish I accually had at least some amount of soldiers, all I have is a gajillion harry potters. Anyway, that 's a nice little moc you got there. How long did it take you to make?

If anyone really has been watching this post (which it doesn't look like) Its been a while since I last updated, which is because this ship is no more. I had run out of peices, and the ship just didn't seem to be turning out well enough for me to go and buy some more peices. So, basically its dead. The end. (though I've already started a new ship, which I will post later.) I've come around to getting bored of my wimpy old ship with its wimpy old hull. so I thought I'd build a larger one, this time with a custom hull, making it nearly 50% bigger than my previous one. here's only about half the hull, fairly good streamline shape if I say so myself here's a general size comparison as well as the last picture of my wimpy HMS Rochester here's just an update of the hull, with my experimental SNOT flooring 8/7/09 Here is the complted hull, from a bad angle... ...and here's a shot from a better angle. 8/10/09 I can be rather stern when i build the stern... I have A weak idea for the gun deck, and main deck, so if you could add your own suggestions i would greatly appreciate it. I'm also not sure whether I should do SNOT (studs not on top) flooring, or regular flooring with studs on top

84b Well then. most of you people around here probably dont know me. I JUST signed up on eurobricks, but Ive had a fascination for pirates and Legoes long before that recent moment. When school got out for me on June 10th (I'm only thirteen), I began assembling this fifth rate ship of the line (it has 39 cannons, would be 40 but one cannon port is taken up by the anchor line). After two weeks of assembly, and one week of adding the rigging and sails, (I used about 50 meters of twine) well, it was "completed". In my eyes nothing is ever really "completed", Only more or less detailed. But thats my own psychology, and few sailors give a $@?& about psychology, so i'll stop myself before things get ugly. Anyway If you were wondering why I named it the HMS Rochester There's a good reason I named it so. My father served in the navy (US) And was stationed on a nuclear submarine. The name of that submarine was something something Rochester, and thus the name is sacred to me. Enough of my nonsense, time for the pics. do feel free to comment about anything, and I mean (almost) anything http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Hawaii10...er/cimg3571.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Hawaii10...er/cimg3572.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Hawaii10...er/cimg3573.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Hawaii10...er/cimg3574.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Hawaii10...er/cimg3575.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Hawaii10...er/cimg3576.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Hawaii10...er/cimg3577.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Hawaii10...er/cimg3578.jpg :pir-skull:
