Charging the redoubt at Yorktown.
the_green_avenger replied to General Redwater's topic in Pirate MOCs
hmmmm... bloody... P.S. If you want it to be accurate, both sides wore tricornes 99% of the time... -
to sum it up into one word: WOW!!!!!!! P.S. It seems like that table is running out of room...

Good job! The old pirates color scheme looks really good here! I really don't see any reason for you to have an anchor and a cannon in the front yard... The overall architechtural design is pretty good P.S. I notice that you have an interior. Why didn't you post any pics of that?

wait... so your already finished?!?

I think the "Posted by xxx in xxx" part should be centered...

there's a free alternative to photoshop that works really well called Paint.NET

Height I don't know how many times I've said it, but IT IS minifig scale... at the moment the hull is 86 studs long. the deck will be about 4-6 studs longer, making it almost exactly 1:1... P.S. If anyone wanted to know how progress has been, well, it's been slow... currently I'm working on v9 of the hull. I'm not sure when the hull will be done exactly since I'm really busy until June, but I REALLY want to be done by october 2nd, so I can take it to BrickCon, the local LEGO expo. Aside from working on the hull, I've been skrewing with the rigging, which is going to be the halmark of the ship once it is finished. Tomorrow I MIGHT post an example of it, maybe do a tutorial once I get around to doing it on the accual ship... P.P.S. I've also been debating on what cannon design to use, though I think I'll go with Teddy's... P.P.P.S. Zuloo, you might be right about the cost being more than $50... I don't want my budgeting to deminish the overall quality... same with time restraints...

your right... though the only other ship it could possibly be is the Sovereign of the Seas, though everything besides the color suggests that it is the Vasa... P.S. there is ONE other ship it could be, but no matter how hard I try I absolutely cannot remember its name! I'm stumped... though I can't really see it being anything other than the Vasa...

DO you mind PMing me too? Great Photography!

Wow! such detail! This will be a finalist for sure!

Same here... I do not see why you are making it so large though... you'd be perfectly fine making it a baseplate or two smaller... and a quick question: what kind of progress have you make since you last posted?

Possible answers to ideas for new parts
the_green_avenger replied to woody64's topic in LEGO Pirates
as in a cannonball? not a bad idea... though what I really want is a cannon that doesn't cost $8 a piece -
They look exceptional, esspecially if you include the fact that they are 100% lego do you plan on using them in any mocs?

I'm with capt. stabbin on that, however I absolutely love this moc! Anything and everything... great, clean splendor though I think you could of used something besides cheries. they look like... something else...

Not much to say, other than it's looking good so far... keep it up!

WOWZAS! So large yet so magnificent! the old color scheme never gets old... accually goes really great with the rest of the ship! where do the other three smaller ships fit into the carrier? Can't wait to see this at STEAM! Edit: Same here! Edit:Edit: Is the hangar part detachable?
-
if I had to come up with a definition of "over the top", this would be it. Fantabulicious MOC! Edit: in the second pic there's a hungarian standing in the creek... kinda funny...
-
You've captured everything VERY well in this wonderful MOC hopefully that weather clears up!
-
On the top of my list would be larger hull pieces... All the other ideas sound great too, especially a diversity in armament. It would also be nice to have longer/more accurate cannons, somewhat like Teddy's Cannon Design

I know it is considered a battle ( Edit: something happened to the rest of the post... Basically I was gonna say Use the Grand Union Flag, and Kabel is right, both the hessian officers and soldiers wore blue coats.

Detail, ahead of size, is the attribute ascribed to all my favorite MOCs Not only is it very highly detailed, the size of the army is also very significant... I can't wait to see the accual battle part!

I never really thought the prussians had a very large navy... good to see a bit of diversity put into this, that's what really caught my attention Hope to see you around here more often!

I was beginning to think you had givin up on this project Thanks for the update! P.S. Are you gonna give it a name?
