  1. well... that's not as fun, is it ???
  2. :-D ok, i wont bother then. thanks.
  3. yes, the pirate theme has the advantage of being released for a much longer time, so the childhood sentiments are going to be greater for that theme. i'd suspect.- BM
  4. just so there is no confusion, 007 gave credit to Fred Moulder in the title ;-) - BM
  5. yes, thanks asuka... that really puts it into perspective... post-apoc could describe a sole survor siting on an over-grown green lawn meditating :-D - BM
  6. it seems this experience happened awhile ago now... i wonder if the climate has changed since then. i'd like to visit one of the 3 in chicago somtimes soon, im only a couple hours away. i wonder if hinckley has any comments ;-) - BM
  7. ah, that does... i wasn't aware of those roadsigns. thanks for taking days to do research :-$ ummm... im not sure, because the letters "flow over" onto the tile on the finished edge... so unless it's the sticker overlaping (which would be a dumb design flaw), it's got to be another element... i wonder if that roadsign is it ???guess i can't wait to find out - BM
  8. i think it is so that the railing (not sure the correct term here) with the inverted dish lies on a flat tiled surface. but if it were me i would remove the tiles too, and work on a new configuration without the black skeleton leg.- BM
  9. hey Brickster... i like the chair configuration and the inclusion orange, but overall this MOC has the same look (and more importantly the same feeling) as some of your past GS creations. which would be fine, if it was an improvement (either in building technique or conceptualization) over the pervious work, but it doesn't seem like it to me. my suggestion would be to try creating different atmospheres for each MOC, so that each one has a unique feel, and consequently a purpose... without a unique purpose, i don't see the point to the MOC. if that make sense. personally, im trying to explore the idea of "creating atmosphere" by placing them in different settings. for example, i have a haunted bridge idea with a drowned zombie (you might remember "The Drowned" western zombie from the halloween contest last year). the bridge placed the MOC in a water setting. in contrast, i have an idea for a forest/tree setting in which there is a hung zombie (to play a western tree handing idea)... this placed the MOC in a more forest desert... and thus, gives the two MOCs a very unique personality with two very unique characters which relate to their setting. though, there are a lot of ways to create individuality in MOCing, and setting is just one way to create personality and atmosphere. i hope that im not coming off with a "your MOC sucks, do them like mine instead" attitude... im just trying to show an example of what ideas im playing with, and relate that to what you have done here. - BM
  10. there is definitely some creative (and effective) use of elements on the interior designs... but i can't get passed the use of the black skeleton leg - seems like LEGO could have come up wit a better design than that. all-in-all though, that cinema is awesome. - BM
  11. i've been meaning to leave some feedback here, hinckley. i really like looking at this, because (as you probably know) im pretty interested with "industry building" right now. and this has a real industry touch, as norro pointed out. good exterior colors, and i love the rare green garage door links. i also like the truck... and might secretly like to borrow that front end configuration sometime ;-) im getting slightly tired of all the flat noses of the official sets. - BM
  12. wow, thats the biggest confession yet... your very mature for being 12, IS.- BM
  13. :-D it's funny how we all know each other.
  14. i like being updated to these sales... as i have shopped a few times with troy's store. i think troy is respected member of the AFOL community in general, so i find it ok that this is all he posts here, if he wants. just my opinion - BM
  15. wow 007, i didn't know you were so talented 8-
  16. thanks for the reply asuka !!! but don't those pins just rotate anyway ??? or do you mean the pins with friction ??? and for some reason, this is one quirk im not guilty of - probably cause i know they will rotate eventually inside the pin hole ;-) - BM
  17. does anyone have any insights on the brick configuration on the "cinema" sign, especially around the letters ??? those look like really thin plates, or is that just the thickness of the stickers ??? man, im really having a hard time making it out *wacko* - BM
  18. i love the concept... you're definitely a thinker aren't you ;-) i've always liked the idea of taking the western setting and mixing in other genres. though, somehow LEGO builders have killed the "western meets sci-fi" theme for me, with this thing we call "techwest." it's far too spacey for me - consequently, i don't like much. though, i've read some cool "western meets sci-fi" stories in comic books ;-) however, i do love the concept you have here... it's really fun. "post-apoc western", how cool ??? and i like how you have approached it. it's a little cartoony, and that's what i like. though for this one, you really busted out the non-SYSTEM building techniques, didn't you - im having a hard time appriciating this one. those minifig hands really need to stay in their torsos :-X - BM
  19. im not sure what you guys are calling "pins"... like technic pins ??? but i don't understand how those could be facing dfferent directions :'-( im just curious, cause i wonder if i do it too, im just not familar with the terminology.- BM
  20. that cinima is really cool... i can't wait to see what movie posters decorate the sides. im not to fond of the other two buildngs... i think the 2007 gas station was better than what we have here. though, im excited by the red truck. im glad to see some american architecture coming from the factory line, after seeing the CC, MS, and eiffel tower i was getting a little worried this new line had forgotten about us :-$ - BM
  21. like others, i was a little scared when i read the sub-title to this topic... but all is well :'-) i like the lighting on the image phes quoted... looks good !!! - BM
  22. are you calling the windows on the post plane and post van green ??? i think they are just trans light blue - same that we got in 2007.i wish LEGO would make that large windshield in a color other than light blue, though... trans black would be perfect. - BM
  23. well, my suggestion is that he call his theme fantasy and not necessarily sci-fi... so as to avoid all the "this MOC isn't post-apoc enough" criticism, all the while still being true to his vision.it was merely a suggestion as it seemed he was receiving a lot of critz based solely on his classification of the MOC. my thought was that maybe if sirnadroy called it something different, he wouldn't receive those comments as they would be deemed unrelated. boy, im really trying to defend this MOC, aren't i ??? but really, i agree with you hinckley... i don't think there are so many hard-and-fast rules about post-apoc. it's all about the world you create, and it's fully acceptable that each one could be different, and apply different logistics in their natural world. ------------------------------------------------ BTW, sirnadroy... you motivated me to check out "post-apoc" galleries on BS, and none compare to what you have done here. you really have a unique take on the theme... - BM EDIT: oops... i just realized i've mistakenly put a "Y" on the end of your name a few times, Sir Nadroj :-$ i'll get it right from now on.
  24. it's so inspiring isn't it ??? i'd love to see these guys in a comic book tale.- BM
  25. so can we consider these the final designs ??? i guess not much changed, dang. - BM
