there are a few in there i don't recall seeing before, for sure.this pics make this sets look very clean (the preliminaries looked sloppy, unfinished stickers and pieces not snapped together correctly), so i find myself liking them a little bit more than i had originally. still no where near as nice as what was released in 2007. mostly im disappointed by the lack of new torsos, especially in the impulse line. the only way that series is going to work is if there is a reason to buy them... duplicate common figures is not a good enough reason for me. i think i'll add the cargo truck / forklift to my collection *sweet* - BM

Lego pieces you would love TLG to make
Brick Miner replied to LEGO Maniac JEM's topic in General LEGO Discussion
yes, that would be helpful, wouldn't it.also, speaking about arches, i'd like to see some gothic arches like these... and speaking about gothic architecture, i'd also like to see some one piece gargoyles in light gray and white. as for western, i have always kept a long mental list... vultures, cactus, bonnet head piece, buffalo, etc... i also have a list of parts that i need in colors that aren't available, such as 4x10 tan plates. and, i need more dark bluish gray animal tails for street lights. LEGO never produced them for a set, however they are featured on the packaging on the street sets like 7280. about a year ago they were hundreds on BL, but now they are all gone :'-( LEGO !!! put this piece in an actual set, please !!! - BM -
this is a very good topic !!! i like this type of layout development because it really forces you to give your city character, because i think this layout would only really shine if each city has a distinct personality from the other. much like JSN described... or if one were an industry based city, and one commercial, that would give the two cities a unique feel from the other... or if each had two distinctly different industries, that could work too. there a lot of possibilities for different industries, but LEGOs lack of exploring these possibilities would really halt the expansion of this idea. as of right now LEGO has only fleshed out two industry possibilities, shipping and construction, right ??? i think, if i were to plan a layout of two cities, one would incorporate 7994 and be a shipping/exporting based city, next to the sea. this city would be older in character, and possibly more decrepit. the sister city would then be a land-locked city. this more recently developed city would be more of a commercial district, and maybe whose industry was construction, both residential and commercial. - BM

so, it looks like they intergrated 7235, 7236, and 7245 into this line... im still shocked at this. i wonder why LEGO felt the police colors needed to change from black to blue. i can't think of any marketing reason of the top of my head. it reminds me a lot of the pirate theme color change in 1993. i love the stickers in this set... really nice. maybe this set will turn a few of the AFOL sticker haters around :-P - BM

Lego SORT OF shows false 7994 picture at Lego.com
Brick Miner replied to RupeeClock's topic in LEGO Town
i was actually surprised they used that image on SaH... it does appear in the box art imagery too, which surprised me also. i could see how one could be confused, especially since this is a child's product. im not saying i was fooled, or i think it's intended to trick anyone with false information... im just surprised no one a LEGO could see how that image could be miss-interpreted by the consumer. i do love the multi-set images, and miss them from the 90's calalogs. - BM -
yes, that could be it.you know, if that is true - that these two small sets are being integrated into the 2008 line, then i guess we wont see any new solo police truck or car sets for 2008. it's interesting that LEGO wouldn't choose to make all new sets for the 2008 line. maybe they are just coming later, and the old re-stickered sets are place holders. - BM
-
yes, that is what makes me believe this set, and only this set, will continue to be sold along side the 2008 line, while the other 2005 police sets will retire.if not, then this is really interesting - BM

that post-modern hospital is very nice and enjoyable to look at... i really like it, a lot !!! im not too fond of towers, like the CN... i imagine it would be hard to build one from LEGOs. - BM
-
i think it's strange that LEGO would alter an existing product like that... does this mean that this police set will not be discontinued and will become part of the 2008 line ??? are there any pictures ??? - BM

Which Is Better to get Western or Pirates?
Brick Miner replied to Joey Lock's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
hmmm... it's interesting that you compared individual elements between the two themes, B. this is one thing i hadn't weighed in my initial comparison.for me, in looking at the individual elements, i think it's a wash... the pirate theme explored those great imperial buildings. im especially fond of the white castle walls with red brick pattern. coupled with the yellow corner stones, its a marriage made in heaven *wub* though, as you pointed out the western theme introduced some great new molds... including the snake and all the indian pieces. - BM -
thats a food idea KD !!! and since town plan is a revisit to an old LEGO town set, the western town super set could be a revisit to this old set... i can honestly say, i could see it - with all of these AFOL specific sets, there could be room for one WW release. it's not too far off - BM

Miss Legoland Pageant (The Final Round)
Brick Miner replied to Athos's topic in General LEGO Discussion
out of the choices... by far !!! -
i love the smirk on the retro actress (also seen as the may jane face) - so i voted for her, plus i love the slope as a dress - it makes the women taller than the men, which makes me assume they have heels on under that dress, and that's a sexy thought too. - BM

lacy for me... i've always wanted that pink torso for the wild west theme... but it's just too darn rare and expensive - BM

Bricklink Trusted Sellers list
Brick Miner replied to Dragonator's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
i could see that. here is my list of my favorite stores... Slim Chance, Simply Bricks, and Amazing Bricks (for quantity selection, rare piece selection, and customer service), and anything-lego, Adams Family, and BricksNBits (for excellent used piece conditions, and customer service.) i could also make a list of my top three sellers for coupons - a lot of sellers give there repeat customers coupons, and i find that very kind.maybe we could have favorites in categories... customer service, coupons, piece condition, etc... but that might get complicated. at this point, im just offering to other members the good experiences i've had, for their reference... so, i've made a contribution to the list either way *sweet* yes, thats worth pointing out, isn't it.- BM -
Bricklink Trusted Sellers list
Brick Miner replied to Dragonator's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
yes, i think it might be... i just catagorize my personal experiences into excellent, good, neutral, and bad... but for the purpose of this thread, where many experiences come together... one list might be good enough - as long as we continue putting a brief description next to the name of the store (like we are doing)... that should explain enough.but it's what ever you guys think. i don't feel strongly either way. - BM -

Which Is Better to get Western or Pirates?
Brick Miner replied to Joey Lock's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
that's why i suggested this just be mearly discussion type of thread, and not so conclusive with a poll (as it was before you entered the thread yoda.)now the thread takes on a whole new atmosphere... this is now not a discussion where we are open to going back and forth on points and views of the two themes... we have to decided, right of the bat, as soon as we read the title, which one we like (and will probably not even read what others have written). yes one could wait to vote, but a poll promotes you to vote, now, especially if you don't agree with the current poll percentages. and a poll thread leaves us no option for us to change our opinions (after voting) regardless of what new points are brought up in the discussion. we will see the poll numbers and that will be it. it's sooooo black and white now :-| it's funny, cause this thread now gives me the same "feeling" i get from the climate of the pirate forum. and i guess i don't like that... that's interesting 8-| - BM -
Bricklink Trusted Sellers list
Brick Miner replied to Dragonator's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
you know, i've never shopped with them... but i knew they would be the first ones mentioned that wasn't on my list :-D i actually asked them a question one time, before i made a purchase... they never got back with me, so i found my parts somewhere else that responded very quickly.now, that doesn't mean they don't provide excellent service once the order is placed... im sure they were just busy at the time of my question - no big deal. im sure i will go to them soon enough. - BrickMiner -

Which Is Better to get Western or Pirates?
Brick Miner replied to Joey Lock's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
it's great to read a full-hearted comparison of the two themes, Bonaparte. and i agree with the fact that not all the pirate sets where great, however, in contrast, the western sets (especially the larger cowboy sets) are of a very high caliber.- BM -
hey B, i gave this MOC an honest and whole hearted "look over." and it took me some time to formulate a constructive response for possible improvement, and did so the best of my ability, being as nice as i felt i could - all the while still get my point across.i obviously feel that you are a great builder and a greater conceptualizer, and that is the only reason that im so critical in my feedback - i'd only love to see you improve. by your own admittance, you have singled this creation out as yet another "brown building with black roof" and i would love to see something else from you. im sure we all have room to grow, and there are a ton of unexplored possibilities within the ghost town sub-theme. i think it goes without saying that you, the creator, can disregard any feedback you disagree with. and if you feel there is no room for improvement, i respect both cases and will not look at your MOCs so critically from now on. i am also fully able to let you grow on your own, as i can honestly say that has proved to be the best method for my personal growth, self-edification. - BM
-
wow, just ridiculous. yes, all my creations (before deleting them) had reviews like "this MOC is fantasic !!!" followed by 1 or 2 stars :'-( it's really a shame that is happens. i want to think this is not the fault of sean kenny, but if he wants to have a successful site, he is going to have to promote a more positive and mature atmosphere.- BM

wow, this sort of thing speaks loudly about MOCpages in general, and that is too bad... i really like the interface of the site, and had really encouraged people to use the site in the past (it was my site migration of choice when BS was down a few months ago). but this and other accounts have really proven the site to have gone down the deep end. i think im done with it - and that is really too bad. MOCpages members have claimed my MOCs were stolen ideas, and left feedback saying i was plagiarizing, but i've never had someone steal mine, yikes !!! its a bunch of irresponsible children on that site - i swear. sorry mutley - BM
