  1. thanks for doing this guys !!! well, the questions were worded a little strangely, and the order of questioning was confusing... so yes, i made some adjustments :-$ -------------------------------------------------- everyone, thanks for the replies to my interview... if you like what i had to say, and are interested in my MOCing, etc... look for the next issue of RailBricks Magazine online (and in print) in february. they are featuring a nice article on me and my LEGOREDO train station MOC. also, 4 brand new BrickMiner MOCs will be featured for the special event !!! never seen before !!! im so excited !!! please check it out... it's not only exposure for me, but for all of EB !!! - BM
  2. i really think this topic needs its own thread, but we are already discussing it else where i suppose, so i'll close this one. - BM
  3. oh hinckely what a mess !!! but i trust you will use your artistic eye and clean things up... with all those bricks you have a lot of potential ;-) BTW, have you seen how scarce roadplates are on BL ??? it scares me :'-( yes alex, this reminds me of your town evolution thread. i like these too.hinckely, do you plan on making a digital map layout of the city ??? i hear its pretty popular with city builders ;-) - BM
  4. oh!ya, im not too familar with those bionicle pieces... i always pictured that baseplate to be much bitter, like a 32x32 raised baseplate, but now i see it says 16x16. i guess it does make sense now... too bad i don't like that piece. now it makes the set even worse.... reminds me of the awful baseplate from the old CG sets... i hate the reduction of studs, or in the case of the new CG baseplate, no studs at all !!! it makes it seem vey unLEGO-like - BM
  5. i personally love that little ani... one of the best figs ever !!! he is so cute *wub* - BM
  6. i hate to be the grumpy gus... but i don't like these coast guard sets. 2007 was just too hard to follow, plain and simple. it will be interesting to see the final design on the light house though. right now it is standing on a digitally rendered rock/cliff. so i wonder how the final design will be placed in regard to the dock, etc... it especially seems strange since the dock has stairs leading up to the lighthouse. almost seems like there will have to be actual bricks leveling the lighthouse to the stairs. but if that is the case, then whey do those bricks not appear here. maybe the rock/cliff design isn't finalized, yet ??? - BM
  7. i paid right around 200 USD (x4 original price) for each of my MISB gold city junctions. but i also paid 30 bucks for a used one without box (but it did have an unused and mint sticker sheet). so, i guess the question is, are you looking for them sealed ??? that is going to make a huge difference in price. -------------------------------------------------- i would part with one of mine, but it would cost you around 400 USD :-P on the other hand, i'll be happy to keep it ;-) - BM
  8. re-reading this topic and the replies, i realize i may have misunderstood it. i thought we were talking about (hypothetically) what worldly geographic location is your city based in. oops. though, a much better topic, i think ;-) i like seeing everyones digially rendered maps though !!! - BM
  9. the bley was molded for hogwarts express which came out after the color change, but not before the end of 9V was decided/announced.if you check BL you can see all the 9V sets that include bley track. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2865 that is why i didn't order any of 2159 even though the price... BL told me not too ;-) - BM
  10. welcome to EB, and its great to see another WW fan - even if its 4th or 5th on your favorites list (thats still pretty good ;-) )- BM
  11. im a collector, so of course ;-) also, when buying a set of the shelf, i always look for the best condition one... it probably looks pretty silly to an on-looker :-D this reminds me of a similar thread where we discussed if you would pay more of a used set with a box (you might find it interesting)... http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...wtopic=9363&hl= - BM
  12. im just working on a single layout on my office floor... but i imagine the layout representing a mid-western (USA) industrial economy based city. much like detroit MI, cleveland OH, or Pittsburgh PS - but with a shipping port (i really love 7994 ;-) ). very good topic, im interested in where others cities are located. i'd imagine that people probably build cities much like the ones they live in or close to. - BM
  13. i love reading the "history" that your town layout has... very cool. i really enjoy that type of city development. - BM
  14. im in this mind frame also, nadroj... when then first came out i was loving it, but now im kinda over it (for me it has been dwarfed by city 2007). but i do agree non-licensed stuff like AR is definitely the way to go. LEGO did really good here, and i think AR will age very well, and in time, will be remembered as one of the more sucessful lines... just give it time.- BM
  15. i like these 2007 specific polls !!! though i wouldn't have included the early 2008 products in it. and i would have included more options. even unlikely choices like AR, Exo, City, or whatever could be someones favorite or least favorite. though im no SW LEGO fan, those rebel troopers really are something... they get my vote !!! and of course the aliens are the worst minifig,... possibly ever. - BM
  16. ah, i didn't read that right. thanks for clarifying UB.
  17. after i build a set or MOC, i never take it apart, or use the pieces for another build... so my creations end up collecting dust on shelves - i display them like works of art or sculptures. my trouble is figuring out how to de-dust them. i usually wash my LEGO creations about once every 4 months. now my GF makes fun of me :-D - BM
  18. this is a great poll piranha !!! 2007 was a great year (the best in 10+ years), and it's fun to look back on all that LEGO gave us... and the poll is so timely, isn't it ??? i guess it wasn't so easy to predict the results, looks like city has quite an edge ;-) and rightfully so, the 2007 city line was fantastic... up until this past year, the only thing i collected was history based themes, pirates, WW, and adventurers. but the city harbor, recycling truck, and heavy hauler were too perfect to pass up. now that interest in city has expanded to MOCs of skyscrappers and factories - a world i never would have guessed i'd be exploring pre-2007. also the 2007 city lined reminded me of how i felt as a kid looking at a wall of LEGO in TRU, dreaming of owning them all. it was the first time i had felt this as an adult. aquaraiders also gave me that feeling, and why it gets best new theme. i think in years to come AR will be regarded as a good quality theme - i just think it will take some aging. - BM
  19. jipay... just curious, did jonfett create this technique... i know i've seen others use it. - BM
  20. whipstick, we are talking about which theme is better, not which forum. once upon a time, all the history themes shared one forum here on EB, but the pirate community needed it's own hub, just like classic-castle is for the castle community - EB was decided to be that place for the pirate community.im glad to read all of the positive relections on the WW theme, cool !!! makes me feel good about MOCing in the theme *sweet* oh, and joey lock, it seems your question has been answered !!! - BM
  21. wow, what a great deal... all the walmarts and targets here in misouri are cleared out off most LEGOs, with the exception of some 2008 creator and indy sets - all 2007 stuff is gone :'-( - BM
  22. of the sub-themes, islanders definitely beats the indians, and that is a huge advantage that the pirates theme has over WW. though i find myself liking bandits far better than the actual pirates (i know there were only three bandits, but those three figs were so well developed). the imperials and calvary are about even...in comparing sub-themes we've got: 1) pirates vs. bandits 2) imperials vs. calvary 3) islanders vs. indians so who are the cowboy equivalents in the pirate theme ??? it seems WW has the advantage of having more sub-themes. - BM
  23. in what part of the world do you live ??? i'd like to take advantage of this.i wonder how long this sale will run ??? - BM
  24. yes, the color change was a pity wasn't it ??? ;-)
  25. yes, the thing that is interesting about the WW theme is that the scope is not far from city or town. i mean, all the same buildings and themes exist within the two themes, just in a different time period: residential buildings, a commercial district (downtown), industry, and transportation (like trains, carriages instead of cars). only the WW has just a slight bit more personality (sheriff over police, and bandits over criminals). so to seee LEGO release a town plan type set in a WW setting seems very natural.------------------------------------------------- also, i know this is a bit far fetched, but... my favorite comic book western character is getting his own movie in 2008 or 09, jonah hex. LEGO has licensed DC properties already (batman), if the movie is sucessful and geared toward a younger audience, we could hope to see a license. now, i know LEGO usually only handels super popular properties, spongebob, spiderman, batman, etc... but they have been known to do some lesser known titles, like avatar (what is that anyway ??? :-P ). its a very far fetched idea, but one can hope right ??? - BM
