I own this set a lot of time and even though I cleaned it many times, always comes back to fill up with dust in a few days. I'm sorry to cover it with a cloth and do not have time to build a glass case to put the set inside.it. -

Lego does not provide per set out of production.Checks to see if the contacts for the batteries are not oxidized or try using rechargeable batteries with high amperage, I generally use batteries from 2100 mAh to 3800 mAh. -

Try using 6 1.5V batteries (not rechargeable). If you don't solve the problem, try to add another battery box and attack the ir receivers separately.
