  1. A very interesting build and like nothing I have seen before! I like the choice of colour scheme very much. The interior details are superb. Best of luck!
  2. Very nicely done, I like the colour scheme and varied heights of the building. I look forward to seeing the interior!
  3. Very nice work here! I like how it is 3 structures in one, the brown windows in the grey works well (I was going to do that with my own entry! ) The interior details are what i've come to expect from you, detailed and well done as always. Best of luck!
  4. Hi Charlie I think I may of seen this on eurobricks a little while back from lgorlando; The dish used as a records is a neat idea!
  5. Great review! I agree that its a bit camp and unusual looking. But I really like this set for those reasons! Reminds me of SP3 - Lunar Limo 5984. Im not a fig person but these figs are very good. I will purchase this for sure!
  6. Ive done plenty of bathrooms on my mocs, here's a couple of pics from a moc I made a while ago. Its based in the early 1900's; Here is a close up of the panelled bathtube and how its put together, it fits a fig inside but would probably look much better with 6 white seats Hope this helps!
  7. Great job on the domed roof, the facade is equally impressive. Well done!
  8. And were off......... Very nice intricate building with some cool techniques, well done and good luck in the contest
  9. Very good work as usual. Fits nicely into your modular layout, I like the bay windows on the first floor and the apartment is very good for use of space too!
  10. Good review, this is the only Paradisa set I own, still cant find the boy with freckles face. Ill have it somewhere! I loved this set when I was younger. Decent amount of printed pieces, an unusual baseplate at the time and always found ways to use the those excellent windows!
  11. Very good build, some nice use of texture, especially on the ground floor (Quite realistic) and the interior looks great too! Well done.
  12. I got mine when the last LEGOSHOP@HOME offer with double points and free shipping was on or I would not of purchased it. £15 worth of points so really it was £135, a much more reasonable price!
  13. Wow! 3 months to get something made, at first I thought thats a bit long! I used all my good ideas up just recently on modular MOCs. Hopefully 3 months is enough time to think of something new for the contest!
  14. Very nice build, perhaps the only thing which I would change would be swapping the black wheel arches for the new wheel arches in 4438 or 4441 in bley. Otherwise great job!
  15. A very nice build, a worthy addition to your brand name builds!
  16. Nice work, trees are a nice change from green. Also like the railings technique!
  17. Thanks you for the comments! The layout was a last minute thought! Hopefully justice will be done once I start using my new camera for any future MOCs. Just have to find the right settings first!
  18. Hi everyone! In my last post I took some abysmal pics from a dark coerner of the room on my cameraphone but I received a new camera yesterday and as an excuse to try it out I did some other pics and show my corner off much better than before so here is a few samples; All my other pics can be found here Cheers!
  19. Thank you! Thats Phoebe btw, she's not as big the other one! I figured I should make a car for each new MOC, it only took 3 hours or so to make which was a record for me! Agreed! I never got round to making someone with a guitar, originally I was not going to photograph the stage with anyone on it but threw some figs in last minute for effect! Actually here is a couple but the quality is not very good; Thanks for all the comments again!
  20. Thanks for the positive comments everyone! I read and appreciate them all! Thanks! I had alot of fun putting the bar counter together! I originally wanted to use the 1x12 windscreen from the GE as a display case but found it too big. I also wanted to raise the space behind the counter but felt it spoilt the look of the floor. Maybe next time ill figure it out! Thanks! Lets hope we get a contest like that someday eh? Thanks! The bakery interior was one I thought I would struggle with. I figured a big oven would fill the second floor in nicely. Cheers! Im planning someday to use the same technique for another Miami styled building!
  21. B-OM-16A to B-OM-16C Hi everyone, its been a while since I last posted. I've been working on 3 Modular MOC's at the same time for quite a while, as I have too many ideas and like to 'strike while the iron is hot'. All of them are set in the 1920's-1940's and have an art deco theme. There is probably a mix of UK/USA/AUS and NZ art deco here. Anyway. Rather than posting 3 separate topics I thought I would put all the pics in one post. Starting with the bar of course, there is a bar downstairs and a dancehall upstairs. I really wanted to do a corner with columns and a rounded window so I guess it looks how I wanted. The upstairs dancehall also has a stage for a singer! An exterior shot Interior downstairs - Is that a pilot at the bar? Interior downstairs 2 Upstairs dancehall Will you have this dance? More pics of the bar can be found here Anyway moving on here is my second MOC the bakery. The Ground floor is the bakery shop for customers, the first floor is a cafe and the second floor is the bakery itself complete with oven. I really enjoyed making this moc for using a contrast of colours and also the interior fittings and furnishings. Exterior Exterior for size comparison Ground floor shop - Could not perfect the look of a breadloaf How much for this? First floor Cafe Cake for one! Second floor bakery Watch your fingers, its hot!! And finally a close up of the delivery van and some of the staff More pics of the bakery can be found here Now we come to my tailors, something I have wanted to do for a very long time. Its the first one I did and took the longest to design externally due to cladding and offsetting, but I was pleased with the outcome. I really wanted to make a vitrolite styled shopfront and am very happy I achieved this! The ground floor is for the latest mens suits etc and the first floor is for making these very fine garments! The second floor is for the manager/owner's office and his secretary. Exterior Exterior vitrolite entrance Ground floor shop - Can I help you sir? First floor manufacturing - Fabric dispenser. The finishing touch! Second floor secretary desk What are you doing in my office? More pics of the tailors can be found here All pics and more can be found on my flickr here including all my previous MOC's etc. I plan to eventually upload all my vehicles to a separate folder at a later date. There is a new vehicle with each of the 3 MOC's. Any feedback is always welcomed!
  22. I also cannot get into LDD. I much prefer to freestyle the build but I end up having a very messy desk which can be a nightmare. When I build a modular (of which I have just completed 3) the building always end up being for a different purpose or looks different to what I imagined when I started. Usually its becasue I run out of bricks in a certain size of colour and have to change the build to accomodate. But if I did have many many more bricks I think I would just build it bigger and have the same issue - Too ambitious! When I first started building modulars I refused to mix sets and tried to see what I could make using just that set. For e.g the Cafe Corner I made into 2 separate buildings, a bar and an architechts office. With the limited bricks it made me think much more about what I could and could not do and was a good learning curve. Creator and Modular builings come with a decent parts selection and ratio of pieces/price. You can sometimes end up getting some great parts in discounted sets. For example I purchased POP 7573 battle of Alamut which was about 1/3 of the price off and came with some great pieces in interesting colours. Diagon Alley - 10217 was expensive but worth it for again interesting pieces - Windows, round grill bricks etc. I sold the figs separately as I did not want them and got half the money back I spent on the set so I got 2000 pieces for about 70 GBP! Ive used bricklink several times and it always been a good experience but what I would say is that if Lego S@H has free shipping or for a small amount its good value for some smaller bricks such as plates and tiles. Good luck!
  23. Agreed. GE and CC could perhaps be stacked up to 4 floors high and still look good. Probably not the GG though as the bay would look a bit silly as poorly supported. The pics on the back of the CC box did make it look tempting to buy more but it was gone before I had a chance to buy more sets!
  24. I was tempted by the castle but after seeing close ups I may just hold out a little longer to see what the 'exclusive' leaked on the designer vid recently is like. Quite tempted by 9466 though, nice figs and very cool vehicle!
  25. Agreed...... I hate finishing my sorting, then taking a MOC apart of about 2000 pieces and having to re-arrange it all again as my boxes and compartments run out of room!
