  1. Many thanks to all the positive comments so far from everyone! I tried to search for some pics of this kind of architechture in Aus but couldn't find any. Would you have a link to some examples? I am curious! Thanks! Here is some more pics from the interior (Kitchen and Dining room) and exterior; A pic to show each floor is removable; Here is also an example of the period architecture of which my MOC is based on; The is some more pics at my flickr here and mocpages here.
  2. B-RM-4D Hi everyone, Here is my latest MOC, a change from Art Deco It is a London Georgian Townhouse with interior furnishings and decoration. Most of these properites today are embassies and are very well looked after. They are some of the most expensive properties in the UK. It is completely modular and each floor can be removed. There is a Dining room, Kitchen, reception room, master bedroom, guest bedroom, bathroom and roof terrace at rear. It is based in the 1900's with Georgian/Victorian furnishing. I have included some pics below, apologies again for the quality of pics, I have a phone camera and poor lighting More photos can be viewed at Flickr and at my Mocpages Comments most welcome!
  3. Nice work, good choice of colours and also I do like that staircase. Well done!
  4. It looks great and fits right in with the other modulars!
  5. I have to agree the roofwork and colour scheme look great!
  6. Hmmmmm.... interesting thought! Is TLG looking for ideas for next years winter set?
  7. Hmmm, what to do what to do.... I used all my white in another upcoming MOC so it may be look a very dry xmas if I enter
  8. Nice job on the town hall, the whole scene looks excellent. Great work!
  9. Nice job, sometimes too many details can seem fussy. Yellow is a good choice to stand out against the other modular buildings, it works really well. Is there any pics of the interior?
  10. Great job L@go, I really like the MPV especially as its on 4 wide. I also like the delivery van but the 'Steinwinter' is awesome! It looks very much like the original in the pic, strange how they designed a truck like that, reminds me of something you would see at an airport.
  11. Nice work! It is a very interesting shaped building. I look forward to seeing the interior when it is finished!
  12. Nice work, agree with other comments about the colour combination, it works very well. Also I like the small red car as part of the street scene, very classic town!
  13. I really like these buildings especially the corner, some nice details around the windows. Looking forward to seeing the next building!
  14. Yeah I did think about the extra bay above the door but though it would distract away from the larger bay and rounded entrance. I did ALOT of image searching before finding the right sort of design that I was happy with
  15. To be honest the bathroom was the last thing I did and space was very much at a premium so using the wall was the best way to save space! His name is winston. He is friendly but not the brightest!
  16. I really like the pickup, nice colour scheme. I am also impressed with the SNOT techniques used on the back of the van to create the curved effect. Never thought of doing anything like that on mine. Is that the 4x4 semi arch piece in black on the tailgate or 3x3? Great work on all vehicles!
  17. B-RM-3A Hi everyone, This is a MOC based on semi-detached suburban houses that were built in the UK from the 1920's to the 1950's. Many of them still in perfect existence today. There are details on both floors and it is completely modular. I really wanted the curved bay window which is a typical feature of many houses of this period. Some pics found below; I have included some interior pics this time but there are more here Comments welcome!
  18. Hi everyone. I ordered some PAB from the S@H website a few weeks ago out of a choice of 1550 pieces(Live in the EU). Just been on the S@H website again and there is now a direct link to PAB with a new icon and the choice of bricks is now 1592. I cant seem to see any obvious new pieces. Nothing new or exciting in dark tan, dark red or any of the more interesting colours. Shame they have not brought back the grey 16x32 and 8x16 baseplates Does anyone know what the new pieces or 're-instated' pieces are?
  19. Sorry to mention if it has been already but in the 'cafe' on the shelf at the back, it looks to me like a cupcake base piece, is it new?
  20. Just seen the pics, their still out there. Not too interested in the fire or police, but the 5 other town/classic vehicles look great especially the caravan and recycling truck! I would guess by looking most sets will have less than 200 pieces so hopefully will be similarly priced to the camper van - 7639. The new caravan reminds me of the 'vacation camper - 6590' which I still have somewhere. Happy times!
  21. Hey everyone. I recently received a survey from the TLG regarding a product I recently bought. Strange as I have not bought anything for months but I did get 10218 - the petshop for my birthday so thought I would use that for the survey. Anyway there were questions about what I like about the set, didn't like, design etc. I commented about I thought it was not as good as previous modulars (IMO), and that I also felt the quality of bricks in general has declined in recent years and asked whether this might be down to some production going to China. I know it is a separate topic and is well debated but the response I got is to, I suppose assure me they still have very high standards wherever the bricks are made. The letter says they wanted to get back to me 'personally' but it feels like its a pasted answer to a question thats probably been asked a million times before me. I was just wondering if anyone else has received this response. To be fair I was never expecting a reply at all and there is a name at the end which I have blanked out but I can reply to the email again if I wish to talk further. Dear ******, Thank you very much for taking the time to participate in our survey. We love to get feedback from our fans, and yours is very valuable to us! We received your completed survey, and after reading your comments, thought it would be great to get back to you personally. We're sorry to hear that you're unhappy about the design of your LEGO® set. We try really hard to make sure our toys are imaginative, creative, fun and last for ages! We have a team of experts in Denmark whose job it is to invent and test new LEGO sets, themes and toys. They tell me it takes years to check everything. They need to test all the new ideas, talk to the factory about how to make them, work out what sort of box it needs to go in and then deliver the new sets to all the shops in 130 countries! Listening to what LEGO fans have to say helps us get better and better so I'm going to pass your comments on to the team in charge of this area. Now in regards to your comment about the quality of our bricks. I apologize that you feel as if the quality of our bricks has declined. The LEGO Group's own production sites are located in Denmark, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Mexico. Further to our own production we source approximately 8% of the parts for our construction toys from China. The parts we source from China include a smaller portion of our LEGO and DUPLO elements as well as the majority of our electronic components and textile elements. Please let me assure you that the focus of the LEGO Group has always been and will remain on quality. No matter where our products are produced, they must comply with our high standards. The site was made to give inspiration and jog the imagination. A lot of the sets on the site can be built using bricks you may already have in your collection. You can access this great new adventure from the link below: http://www.buildtogether.com/ Please get in touch if you need anything else. It's free to call our experts at 1-800-835-4386 (Monday through Friday, 8am to 10pm and Saturday & Sunday 10am to 6pm EST) or you could go to www.LEGOshop.com. Happy building! ********************* LEGO Direct Consumer Services Other surveys I have filled out recently I commented on pricng for delivery and that there should be more special offers etc like gifts or more VIP points and the catalogue I received in the last few days certainly encourages me to buy more from Lego with free delivery over 50GBP, and some bonus points, I won't be buying large SW sets but the free magnet sets are a nice incentive for people whom are tempted. I guess Lego are listening. Hopefully they will get the quality issues right eventually............. Thoughts? Comments?
  22. Looks great, Would of liked to do something like this in the house im currently building but have not got enough room for 6 wide staircase. Colour theme looks fab too. Hard to tell from the pic, which blue is it?
  23. Depends what country you are buying from I suppose, I also bought apple tree house and the log cabin reduced for pieces, I also bought the scorpion pyramid, atlantis temple with about 20-30 percent off for pieces. I would say the exclusives and modulars are decent value for pieces. I actually bought diagon alley even though I don't really like HP just for the parts and wasn't disappointed! Plus I sold all the figs as I wouldn't miss them, so I got some money back aswell!
  24. Thanks. I do enjoy building the interior furniture, although it would have been nice to have a few more bricks in dark brown, especially due to the many colours of wood they used at that time. I have made some similar furniture in the other two buildings aswell. Looking forward to see what your build looks like!
  25. Love Art Deco and have seen so many buildings like this when im out and about during the day. I would have liked to have made it a little wider with a few more columns in but would of ran out of room on my street scene I only found a handful of pictures of inside department stores from that time so its a little bit of guesswork to do the furnishings. Never seen any with airtubing. Perhaps I should have included it in my bank moc instead! Thanks for the positive feedback! Thanks! There is some more shots if you follow the link underneath the pics. The quality of some pics isnt great though! Thanks! I find I can be alot more creative with cladding, the difficult part is aligning the cladding with the top of each level. I was a little sceptical about the flooring especially on the ground floor but upon reflection I am pleased with how it turned out. It definitely wont be my last Art Deco building! Thanks! The van is just there to stop the street looking so boring! I really wanted to make it in white but felt it wouldn't stand out as much against the building! Put them higher so the dust doesn't fall on them! But for pics I just give it a quick brush with an unused makeup brush (Not mine )
