  2. Hi again, So here we are with version 0.5.0.1. of my LEGO PC CAD The good news, for technic builders, is the RACK SUPPORT (still partial) for steering and for linear movement (not combined with hinges) I recommend have a look to videos!! Download as always from my website: http://staff.polito.it/sergio.reano Any comment is welcome!! Sergio
  3. Yes, I can import from MLCad models since I use the same part library, even if sometimes I got any problem with .MPD files. Everything is on wiht .LDR or .DAT. If you want to load from LDD you have to export from it to .ldr and this most often does introduces many holes in your models. The .L3B file format used by my application can be easily imported/exported from MLCAD byes Sergio
  4. Hi, I'm the author of SR 3D Builder and I can ensure that my applications can support models with up to 8000 parts or more with just 2GB Ram and a good enough graphic card (like nVidia 8800). I get 40 to 80 fps with such huge models and that graphic adapter. I don't know if I can post the link to my application, but if you search internet you'll find it. regards Sergio
  5. Hi, that is not a troyan. I simply put a hidden reference to an external link to let a Perl Script to count and make statistics around the visitors I get on my site The hidden link refers to a ITLug stored documents that receive the hit and increments the counter. That's all, believe it or not Sergio Hi, no integration with bricklink at the moment, maybe it the future... Sergio
  6. Hi, the problem is that often the rotation hinge in LDD is chosen from the program and not from you. It's better to migrate your work to a more appropriate Lego application. A good one could be SR 3D Builder. It has a lDraw/MLCad compatible part library (near 5000 parts) available in all colors. You may need to read the manual to get clue with it, but it is really powerful Website: http://staff.polito.it/sergio.reano Sergio (I'm the author of the program)
  7. Hi, new SR 3D Builder 0.4.5.7 has been just release and is online as always on http://staff.polito.it/sergio.reano/ I recommend to carefully read the history tab for a list of changes and added functionality, and watch video on my youtube channel .One note about image quality: I don't know why, but taking image model using internal DirectX routines result in poor image quality. If you need better image the best practice is to take a screen shot with ALT-Stamp key combination (standard and native in any MS Windows) and then go editing them with any picture viewer/maker software. The Windows Paint is good enough to paste the screen shot and crop undesired parts. Now, tomorrow Dec 24, will be the last day I'm online. I will be back on Jan 7, 2010 and 'till there I will not read or answer messages or email, so be patient for any problems. Better to save a copy of the previous version executable. So that's all folks. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Sergio
  8. Hi everybody, as promised the new release of my software 0.4.5.6 has just been released. Hope it worth the time you wait for it. It's available as always from the "official" site http://staff.polito.it/sergio.reano/ one recommendation: please read the history tab for a list of changes !!
  9. Hi everybody here I'm again to say that my application is not died!!!! It takes a really long time to rewrite the animation engine to allow new, more complex functionality. And here is the result. Have a look to this new video to have a feel of what you can do now. New release will be available in late November 2009 see you Sergio
  10. ... don't forget to read manual for a quick and 'productive' approach byes Sergio
  11. HI Yes, you can build instructions and support the same STEP syntax of MLCad. To enable the features, go in the View->Preferences and "Enable loading view.Pause on Step" features. Also use Tools->Instruction miner to order your model parts for correct instruction display. Select parts and move them using mouse wheel. You can add instruction step either in the instruction miner or using the 6th icon on menu toolbar. About interface, you can zoom also using the slide on the right of the toolbar. There is good reason for the use of ESC for unselect parts: in some many models you will often use the copy capability to duplicate parts of model. The selection operation maybe long and accurate so this prevent to accidentally unselect what you have selected. I'm working on some features about selection methods like a 'Plane' selector tool, the possibility to deselect last selected part(s) without deselecting all, and the possibility to reselect what was last selected. Don't forget to read online manual: only 16 pages with many images so really quick to read. Byes Sergio
  12. Hi everybody I'm new in this forum. I would like to submit you the results of my hard work. I'm writing a new Cad for building Lego models on your PC. Watch videos and download it from http://staff.polito.it/sergio.reano/ please feedback your impressions (good and bad!) and your hints I will answer in 2-3 days... enjoy building Sergio
  13. Hi everybody I'm new here. I'm the author of a FREE program for building your LEGO model with PC. Maybe someone already know it: it is SR 3D Builder I would like to post an announcement somewhere on this forum, but I don't know where and if I can. Can someone let me know? I assure the application is FREE and do not contain any advertisement. If anyone would like to check it, the web page is http://staff.polito.it/sergio.reano/ If this is an incorrect place, delete this message, but please let me know what is wrong !!! byes Sergio
