Oh yeah definitely, it's more the brains' fault than the head itself. However, they designed the head around the need to have so many connection points to plug so many different things into, whether it's the visor clip or the second axle hole. It increases the complexity, yeah, but it makes each part a little less able to stand on its own.

I'll be completely up-front and honest when I say I hope we don't see the Brain Attack head piece used again. Or, more accurately, the visor system. Neat gimmick for one wave, and I can appreciate the effort put into it, but I'd rather they just make the best and most expressive helmets they can rather than have to design them to work around this visor piece (which, at times, can make the heads appear too tall). And don't even get me started on how the new head piece basically made all the villains' faces unable to be used properly without a brain attached. I wouldn't shed any tears if they replaced even the basic head piece for something else next year, as much of a waste as it would be. :P

All I got from that minifigure was that he was an antagonist. Probably one of the rogue Nindroids we're going to be seeing. I don't see how his existence rules out the rumors whatsoever.

So I was browsing the web looking for pictures on various shop sites and I stumbled across this. Thoughts?

The only part I disagree with you on is that the beasts are remade versions of previous villains. There's really nothing to indicate that. It reminds me of the time when everybody thought that Splitface was Thunder because their faces looked vaguely similar, or that XT4 was Meltdown. :P However, yeah that was pretty much my theory. I can see why it'd be a stretch (why are they called "machines" and not just "Evil ____"), however that's the idea I'm running with for now. Everything else just seems too implausible. :P -Mesonak

... You know, I've been around the BIONICLE/Lego community for quite a long time. Even when lurking, I've witnessed numerous set leaks, both in pictures and names. This is the strangest one I've ever seen. I can't even... I can barely even fathom what this is suggesting. Obviously, the initial implication is that this will be a wave featuring many technic vehicles or machines. However, when you think about this, you'll realize that using the current constraction release structure that's not really plausible. You'll either have to downplay the complexity of the actual heroes in order to allow for technic vehicles, OR raise the price point for all sets. Maybe they're not technic vehicles, though. Maybe they're something else. Playsets are definitely a possibility, but a rather strange one to consider at this point in time. Also puzzling is the fact that there are so many releases of the same characters in this wave. I can't say I'm pleased; quite the contrary, actually. If the sets are good, however, I can't complain. That's all assuming this is a factual list; AAB has been correct too many times for me to dismiss them, though.

That episode was pretty fantastic. It set up things nicely for a power shift in Chima; the Lions' Chi supply has been weakened, and the wolves have grown stronger. I also sense that the Crocs (or at least the ones who remain loyal to Cragger) will ally themselves with the Lions against the other tribes. The distrust towards the lions after the "rigged" race could also lead to some shifting alliances. ...Or Chima could just disappoint us and not follow through with all of this to any large degree. That also wouldn't surprise me. (Also, it was SO satisfying when Cragger smacked that stupid mind control flower away.)

One of the sets will feature Rhinos as the leading force; Rhogon's Rock Flinger. I'm more disappointed by the lack of Bears, to be honest, although I guess a Fox set would likely be more unique.

The thing with the whole "good guys" and "bad guys" discussion is that the TV show changed that all up anyways for the purposes of the show. There are quite a number of things that are vastly different from what's presented on the website. Except for the Lions, Eagles, and Gorillas, there really is no "good" tribe. The Ravens will take care of whatever people want them to so long as they're paid, the wolves, while a bit ruthless, aren't what I'd call evil, I can't take the Crocodiles seriously as antagonists considering the mind control flower used, the Beavers will help anybody that lets them fix stuff, and the Rhinos and Bears are oblivious. I do wonder how they're going to portray these characters in the sets, however. :P

Legends of Chima 2013 (Action Figures)
Mesonak replied to DarkSurgeXL's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Not going to lie, I was hoping for constraction Beavers, Bears, and Rhinos. :( Oh well. I'm surprised there's no Raven Legend Beast, but hey. These could still be pretty cool. -
Hero Factory Moc Week. Nebula Gang 2.0
Mesonak replied to Takanuinuva's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I didn't really like XPlode or Thnder that much as revamps of their prior forms, but the rest are pretty good. Rotor and Meltdown are standouts, and Von Nebula is a masterpiece. I really love how you adapted him over this system. -
Welcome to the party, Q. Your presence will aid this forum greatly. -Mesonak

Weekdays have always worked out pretty well in the past. However, we hear your concerns; it'll likely be altered next year (for multiple reasons, including some internal ones), but this year this'll have to do.

It's a very good question. There's this dude on Bricklink with like 1,000 of them. It's where we'll be getting ours. XD BS01 Podcast/TTV hosts aren't eligible to win prizes anyway; your presence would still be much appreciated. :P
-
Shame; the event usually lasts 2-3 hours, and the main bulk of the prizes aren't given away till the last hour or so, so perhaps there's a chance. :P

Figured I may as well bring the news to Eurobricks as well, although the topic will, for the most part, be a BZP copy/paste. Hello everybody, it's that time of year again... time for the annual MakutaFest live event! For those that aren't aware, MakutaFest has been running for four years now; it's a live collaboration podcast between BS01 and The Three Virtues. At this event, we feature prize giveaways, interesting BIONICLE discussion, trivia questions, and Q&A with the podcast hosts! It's not an event you want to miss. MakutaFest 2013 will be held on August 7th at 6:00 P.M. Central time. That's 7:00 P.M. Eastern, 5:00 P.M. Mountain, and 4:00 P.M. Pacific. Here's a link to where you will be able to watch it: MakutaFest Ustream Page Here's a link to a video with more information: -HOSTS- -TTV- Mesonak Eljay Venom -BS01- BionicleMan Swert Cholie -PRIZES- Prizes will include five $10 Lego gift cards and five Trans Neon-Green Mirus, to be won via BIONICLE trivia questions, as well as a secret mysterious grand prize... -CALLING IN- There will be a segment on the show where viewers will be able to call in and ask questions. To do this, simply send your skype name OR phone number to Mesonak@gmail.com, and I will add you on skype and add you to the conversation when it is time. Then, you'll join the call, mute the stream audio to prevent echoing, and ask your question. Simple as that. Any information you send us will remain strictly confidential. We hope a lot of people show up for this show! At this time, with the BIONICLE community in such dire straits, banding together for an event like this is just what everybody needs. Thanks for your time, -Mesonak

This site is atrocious. I miss the original website with all of the messages that people sent in. Those were the days. :( EDIT: Also, is it just my browser or did they remove the interactive features in the product section? I'm clicking on the usual spots where stuff would happen like the clamps, visor, and weapon, and nothing's happening. :|

Getting a little ahead of ourselves, are we? It's one thing to have some speculation based on leaks or whatever, it's another to have speculation based on, well, absolutely nothing. :P Will Von Nebula be a set? Hopefully. Will the brains return? Hopefully not, although they likely will judging from the end of the special. Will Rocka get another set? Hopefully not. ...That's my contribution. Also, that's a very valid question. Who IS Goriz? Never heard that name before. :P EDIT: Just googled the name and found the topic from a while ago. Interesting; hard to believe I missed that. Probably a typo/prototype name.

So to derail a bit from the excitement of new set releases... how's about that there Brain Attack game? Been little to nothing on that front for quite a long time. It's my understanding that the mobile version was updated quite a while ago with all of the levels, microtransactions, and a ton of extra stuff? Regardless, they just recently (oh who am I kidding like two weeks ago) updated the PC version with the Shopping Mall level, and some friends of I did quite the... interesting playthrough of it as a follow-up to our previous review of the original game. .They're basically acting as certain "characters," all in the pursuit of comedy. Heed the disclaimer at the beginning, please. Thanks. :P

Bring Back Vapour 2014 guys He needs his time to shine, main adversary or not. That set, for all intents and purposes, wasn't atrocious. :P

Makes sense. Would certainly love to see them at some point but as far as legality is considered... yeah. May be better not to chance it.

I'd certainly love to see it at some point. Sounds really interesting that they'd be that early on in development.
