  1. Not from my experience. With heavy usage, the pieces will loosen up, yeah, and obviously constant usage will cause them to wear down faster than if they were left alone. But from my experience, and create MoCs quite often with my sets, the pieces do not grow brittle. You should be fine.
  2. The initial wave of sets released in the summer of 2010 contained parts that were easily prone to breaking. With the parts redesign in early 2011, however, all further pieces, with the exception of the eye piece used for the Breakout waves as well as the two-toed clawed feet used in Toxic Reapa and Waspix (until recently - the piece was redesigned), are very resilient. I've only had one piece break, and it's an upper leg piece that I received from the Ordeal of Fire line. And I'd attribute that to being at the bottom of a large pile of limbs for several months and being crushed underneath their weight rather than inferior piece quality. Other than that, there's really nothing you need to know. You get what you see with HF; ball and socket based build system that, while simple at first, is really quite complex below the surface. It's a pretty cool theme and such.
  3. Thanks very much for your assistance! Really nice of you to take the time to post information. I do have a question for you, however. 1. Do you remember any colors used on the villains (Bruizer, Pyrov, etc.) ? If you could help with that, that'd be great, but if not, that's fine as well. At first I was disappointed that these are all of the sets, but it makes sense, considering Legends of Chima. Names sound very... interesting. The fact that we're getting no new heroes is depressing.
  4. Was originally found on ebay, believe it or not. Hard to believe it appears to have been on there since July without anyone spotting it until now. Reference link. Contains a few more pictures as well. Not sure what to make of this. My initial thoughts consisted of disappointment and confusion, but then again that's what I thought when I saw the first pictures of Ninjago, and I grew to enjoy that theme for what it set out to achieve. So I guess we'll see.
  5. Yeah, Cwetqo says it's possible the theme is actually called "Galaxy Squad". Not sure if that's in use, but that's more likely than Galaxy Quest at this stage. Man, quite a torrent of speculation this last day or so. It's times like these I wish we actually had pictures of these various themes.
  6. At this point I'd consider "Polar Xxpress" a prototype name for Galaxy Quest based on what we've heard. It seems the two themes are one in the same. I expect a theme similar to Ice Planet.
  7. That sounds What ... That's pretty strange-sounding. I reserve judgement because it'd be awfully interesting of me to judge a theme before seeing pictures. But I'm not too sure how I feel about this.
  8. Asides from the torso, though, despite being a rather simplistic remake, it manages to capture the look of Taka Stars pretty well. So good work in that regard.
  9. Rampant Oceans!!!! ...Yeah, nothing substantial at all. The only thing that will really come from this topic is massive amounts of speculation. Though Gata's links from earlier certainly are interesting, I'd say it's likely they got their information from IMDB. I guess we'll have to see. Honestly if Rampant Oceans has any credibility at all it'll certainly be welcome. A wave of undersea creatures would be refreshing, considering Jawblade's.... uniqueness.
  10. I stopped trusting IMDB when it comes to Lego information when every single one of their descriptions for season three of Ninjago turned out to be false (granted, the episode names were legitimate, so I guess we'll see).
  11. Near obsessive? In all serious though I just looked back at the topic start dates. Took me maybe 15 seconds for both of them. And yeah, I fully support more azure pieces. I'd say that far outweighs purple as the new priority color. There are obviously more purple pieces that could be made, but for the first time since... well, ever, I feel that we have a good enough amount of purple pieces. In stark contrast to medium azure which has two pieces.
  12. Yeah, we got the pictures for Ordeal of Fire on September 23rd, and the pictures of Breakout on September 14th. Pictures for other themes had been circulating for days beforehand for all other themes. If the catalog has already been acquired by somebody, then we may seen an early revealing this year. But I guess we'll see.
  13. Alright, here's two new parts to our video series "Let's Play: Breakout Part II" In this first part, however, we cover Surge's level, who was accidentally skipped in the first playthrough. Surge's video turned out quite hilarious due to a certain... interesting thing regarding armor customization. So without further ado: Final part should be coming up soon. :D
  14. Forgot to post this when it was uploaded, but the next part in our LP of Breakout's second half is up -
  15. Alright, in honor of the release of the Breakout game update, Kahinuva and I have done a playthrough of all of the new levels, plus some uncompleted levels from last time. Kahi's first playthrough was pretty popular, so we're hoping this one will get some attention. First off, here's our playthrough of
  16. I'm betting the game was released mistakenly, and is still unfinished. Because I can't see them adding in Nex but without his accompanying level. -Mesonak
  17. Yeah, same. Screencap would be much appreciated and such, cause there's nothing relating to those names on the webpage you linked.
  18. I always found that line in Ordeal of Fire incredibly hilarious, so having it referenced in Breakout made me smile.
  19. Yup. Pretty clever and such to include that.
  20. Yeah, I agree with you in that I don't mind its presence. It's the way it's used that bothers me, and the black feet go hand in hand with this. I dislike the fact that both his upper legs and lower legs have gunmetal armor, as well as the black feet. I think he'd look a lot better with The Joker's size 6 purple cladding on his upper legs instead of gunmetal armor, to actually balance out the purple, and then swap his black feet for gunmetal ones.
  21. After the last year or so I despise gunmetal. It's hands down the piece I have the most color of in the HF build system, and it completely ruins some of the summer sets color coordination in my eyes (Bulk and Voltix specifically, as well as it's unnecessary use in Stringer).
  22. The more I experiment with this program the more flaws I find; this wasn't really made as well as it should have been. For instance, you can create a pretty elaborate weapon using the MTIS (nothing too complex, just an Evo 2.0-esque weapon), but because you can't rotate pieces freely like in LDD, it makes you not able to place cladding due to the parts conflicting. I've seen numerous other instances in my experiments where it also forces you into one of the three poses because certain parts combos only work in one. And not to mention the ridiculously limited parts selection, moreso than Recon Team, and the random and absurd Toxic Reapa style build over more customizable heroes or even just a titan-style build (like is pictured). I can't speak for all of you, but my problem with Recon Team wasn't the fact that it was in 2D. I didn't want a fancy 3D program that makes my browser slow as molasses. I just wanted customization (ability to rotate and place armor where you want, changes in bone structure) and a larger abiliy to recolor parts. They delivered the recoloring (kind of.... I guess... even though they neglected colors like gold, purple, etc.), but reduced the parts selection by a huge deal, completely neglecting Savage Planet, and a very minimal amount of Breakout pieces are featured, but only when you're building Toxic Reapa. It's also funny because when you use Breakout parts on Toxic Reapa, they're INVISIBLE in the gallery. So don't use any of those pieces if you want to post it in the gallery.
  23. My problem is that the picture shows a Fire Lord style build but you can't actually build it... just Toxic Reapa. And the fact that they added older parts like XPlode's head, the weapons, and such but neglected to add basic Breakout parts like the torso, or even stuff as old as the Savage Planet pieces featured in Recon Team. Hopefully we'll see some updates.
  24. Well, the only currently running ( ) theme that can compare/outclass it is Ninjago. So in that respect, the quote's correct.
  25. I fully expect a story of "_____ is attacking Earth, so several heroes from the Hero Factory are dispatched to save the day". Heroes and villains will likely be CGI, but the civilians, supporting characters, people they interact with will be live action. I can work with that. I' be lying if I said I wasn't really looking forward to this. If it's bad, fine, I'll still get a kick out of it, and if it's good, I'll be pleasantly surprised. Speaking of being surprised this whole thing threw me for a loop.
