Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
cablefoxley replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Good job henjin. Amazing amount of builds everyone got through on the last book. Onwards and upwards. -
Thanks you two. Some great techniques on show there and novel ways of using pieces/elements. Can I suggest that admin sticky this?

Latest impact of other themes on historic themes
cablefoxley replied to Wardancer's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Does anyone know of a feel guide to the new cmf series? Definitely some useful pieces especially as I prefer fleshie to yellow. -
Really good moc there, the dark tan weathering is spot on. Must try it meself sometime. As usual lovely sig posing and fig faces. Really adds life to a build.
-
Good idea x105black about a teaser. Definitely let people on eb know to get ready. Post my new sigfig tomorrow hopefully.

I assume we can remain in the same guild, but change sigfig?

[MOC]Guardyloo - Medieval sanitation
cablefoxley replied to ranghaal's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Nice build, great use of new old and maybe yellowed white? The door is excellent though, incredibly detailed. Top stuff. -
Top quality moc, with far to many lovely details to see even after a third view. Nice inclusion of the classic hollow tree, and that is a shed load of dark green. Lovely.

Hi folks, I hope im posting this in the right forum, as it does seem appropriate. For our UK members, especially those residing in and around Greater Manchester. There is a regular lego club each Tuesday in Manchester at the Koffee Pot on Oldham Street. They provide lego to play with and also you can bring your own. Newspaper article Looks good.

This is very nice, the pikes are nicely done and the wall texturing is spot on. Its got an excellent market feel lots of goods and hustle and bustle. I really like the colourful bunting.

Piazza Municipiale, the Trifork, Avalonia
cablefoxley replied to Bregir's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice build this, I agree with milo, certain bits look a little too modern. The fountain is really nice (similar to the trevi fountain in rome), I need to work on mine some more after seeing yours. Another little nit pit are the colours used. There very kaliphlin. I do like the renovation work, and some of the npu usage on the guildings, such as the grey radiator grills. The palms near the fountain are a nice touch but do seem to belong betterin kaliphlin. Good layout though, how big is it in studs?- 22 replies

Above the clouds - the great merchant's lift of Sultan's Gate
cablefoxley replied to Gabe's topic in Guilds of Historica
This is superb, everything about it is class. I like the lions/tiger head for where the lift rises to. The cloud could be fog instead. lving the lights as well, where did you get them from. I could use some in my multi section moc im making. Please build more for the guilds again. Also I think this could go on the poster as its so original.- 39 replies

This is very nice, i like the mottled effect on the walls and the ovens are cool. I like the cooking as well, good use for the pumpkins. The eye in the glass bowl is clever.

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
cablefoxley replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
I believe when i asked this, rogue said there were highlands in the middle of the forest but no mountains. Rivers do flow down hill after all. The rivers would be tidal for a while though. -
Nice builds and i like the story, its very original. Hope he finds his voice

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
cablefoxley replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Welcome back. Nice army there. On a seperate note, rogue you haven't added Ardor to the map. Also is it ok to rename a settlement? ie I want to change Camp Lefox to Foxburgh, as it is now a defended settlement rather than a camp. -
Why not also let each guild have a vote for one of the builds that gets shown? ie avalonians get to pick one of there 4 or 5. Maybe each guild leader could organise that? My choice is this. Just because its not a castle or blacksmith or something we normally see. Plus we defo need one from Derfel Cadarn, as his builds have probable attracted more people here than most.
-
Superb, the colour's and textures are lovely. The round towers are the best bit though, your probably one of the best at them.
-
Theres too many to pick from but i agree that we shouldnt give too much exposure to only one or two builders. Dc, legonardo, zc, gunman and gideon should all have one. Even though they could fill the poster by themselves. Maybe have it so theres one for each year for each guild. Update sorry if i missed any other builders out, i know there are more quality builders out there.

Ta for the comments folks. Ill try to get something else up soon, if i can manage it before i no longer have the time. By the way pram boxes make brilliant photo areas. Next time my pics should be even clearer.
