  1. I vote no. I know I'm town, so that puts the odds of Michael being scum at about one in two
  2. Nerwen speaks to Soryx We are ready. Begin.
  3. You could tell us who the godfather is. On second thoughts, don't we wouldn't believe you anyway.
  4. So, Even with townie mayor and TCC we are at the mercy of a bad draw.
  5. Nope. The scum know who the GF is but the GF doesn't know who the scum are to start with. So, if Ralph was the GF, when he investigated Joshua at the start (which we know he certainly did), he would have announced him as town. Ralph is cleared if Joshua is scum. Suggesting otherwise is just peeing in the pool.
  6. Also GuvBob, are we playing with the veto power?
  7. The list. Again. Ralph - not the GF. See above Joshua - not the GF (TCC after 4 ScumPol) Scott - maybe. But absent. We'll never vote him TCC. Eric - twice made TCC. Passed one of each. Third time the charm? GF in waiting? Patricia - twice made TCC. Passed one of each. Third time the charm? GF in waiting? Michael - has defended Joshua quite a bit. Possible scum teammate? If so, not GF. Christina - Mayor at the turn, so the only one to know for certain what's in the second deck. A bold position for the GF to be in, again, gut says no. Robert - Picked by a possibly scum mayor to take the fall for a ScumPol or a picked to be cleared by passing a TownPol and hit bad luck? If Joshua is scum, he might have been bold enough to signal to the GF like that. But Robert has been active and helpful. My bet is not GF. Lindsey - passed a town and fed s scum policy. Why would Joshua (or Ralph) try to clear her? Seems to be solidifying as scum or possibly GF?
  8. If Ralph was the GF. And Joshua scum, Ralph would have already claimed. And would have announced Joshua town in thread. Therefore Ralph is not the Godfather. He might still be scum and lying about his and Joshua's alignments. But if Ralph did indeed claim GF by PM Joshua should have have known it was a lie. Either way, Joshua had no good reason not to play the town policy, not even to protect the kill from falling into the 'wrong' hands. If the next thing we see from Joshua is anything but the alleged PM from Ralph, then Joshua is scum and Ralph is telling the truth about his investigation.
  9. GuvBob. Can we confirm Ralph did investigate Joshua please. That is (or should be) public information even if the result isn't.
  10. Unless Ralph didn't PM Joshua. And Joshua simply lying. Hence Ralph is not penalised for something he didn't do.
  11. Kill Joshua. Kill Joshua. Kill Joshua. I know he ain't the Godfather, but he's sure as blocks scum. Joshua, your play should have been to pass the town policy and pass this info on. With so few town policies in the deck we must pass each one we get our hands on. On the chance that Bob hasn't decided this, I'd say yes. This isn't Mafia, there is no night phase. The original is played openly. (Almost) All communication is available to (almost) everyone. There shouldn't be any secret communication at all, that just makes the scum team too coordinated and powerful.
  12. Nerwen sees Thalion toying with the entry slip and checks the pocket of her satchel. Sure enough, there is an entry slip for her there also. signing it she puts it back in the pocket closing it with the button marked with a flying bird.
  13. Nerwen nods at Skrall's words to the exorcist. If you have preparations to make, make them now.
  14. Repeating something doesn't make it true. Being certain of something is either scummy or dumb. I'll ask again. How do you know? Do you think Robert is right in saying Christina and Lindsey are scum or not? If he is right, which is more likely, that they drew scum cards and discarded them or drew town cards and discarded them? Do you thin kRobert is wrong about Christina and Lindsey? If so, what else is he wrong about?
  15. The odds of that could be as high as 50%. Do you know something we don't? You're assuming neither Christina nor Lindsey are scum, when Robert lists them both as people he thinks are. Why is that?
  16. Take a moment. Chant to yourself, this is not mafia, this is not mafia, this is not mafia. Town reads no good without lynches? You need to get better reads. I agree we need people we can trust, but this game is not so simple. We don't get to chose the mayor and the mayor can often cause a scum policy to be passed regardless of the townieness of the TCC. The solution is to start failing governments of people who aren't trusted. I am happy to listen to an argument (or Mblocks even a gut read) on why you think Christina, Michael or Robert may be the Godfather. Why they would do the things they've done, why other people would chose them in certain ways if they were. I could be wrong. But I'll stand by my read and vote accordingly until persuaded otherwise. Don't come in and just pooh-pooh what I put out there, make your own case, and defend it. I'll say it clearly. From what I've seen Ralph isn't the Godfather. He gets randomly picked to be the mayor. That could happen to anyone. He draws either 3 ScumPol or 2ScumPol and a TownPol. You, Joshua have argued that his drawing 3 is stupid small odds. Possible but not likely. So he's either plain scum who tosses a town or town who tosses a scum. Let's assume for the sake of arguement, he is GF and got unlucky with 3ScumPol, what follows. He accuses you of being scum. Remember, if he is the GF, he must initiate the contact with them, they know who he is but can't start the conversation. So if he were the GF, calling you out must be a lie, since he'd contact you quietly if it were truth (and announce you town to boot). What then? Is he just making a scummy move so he'd be noticed by the scum? That doesn't work, they already know who he is (if he is the GF) and he needs to figure out who they are. In the meantime he needs to play as townie as possible so he'd be a valid vote for TCC after 4 ScumPol. But no, he makes noise and thrashes around poking at you, guaranteeing he'll never be voted TCC. So. If he is the GF, he'd have to be so utterly clueless at doing it he's not a threat. Or, as I assert, he isn't the GF. Take aim at someone else. If Lindsey is town, the priority is to use the kill to win the game by killing the GF. It's not an investigation tool. Let's take a counter case to killing Ralph above. Assume we do, and he flips town. You (Joshua) would be more or less confirmed scum, but still alive to vote. And, oh, gee. If the GF hasn't come forward yet, look who is a safe person to claim to! Plus you might have been telling the truth about Anne, but no way would we trust her, so that's another investigation wasted. Doesn't look good for town there. You either need to be right or we're stuffed. What if we leave you both alive. We know with certainty one of you is scum. Neither of you will ever be TCC and we'll vote no to anything you both vote yes to, knowing that if at least one scum is happy with it, it can't be good. For those townies under the pump. I get that it's frustrating telling the truth and not being believed. Man up. Make your case. Loudly. Often. See who pushes back. See who doesn't buy it but has no good reason. See who can be swayed. Don't give up, be the hero of the game.
  17. Sigh. Lots of directing, not much reasoning. Do you think Ralph or Joshua are the GF? Really? Why? If not, why use the kill on them? Who is the Godfather? That's who we should aim at. This isn't Mafia, the kill isn't a terminal investigation, it's a move to win (or lose) the game.
  18. Most likely scum won't cut it. Do you think he's the Godfather or not? If not, who do you think is? Soft target. Pick a side, Ralph or Joshua? Whose input do you want before making the call about who to remove from council? Why the rush? Sure he was on my list, and I stand by his being there. But there are harder questions that can be asked. At least point at someone who will say something interesting before they go.
  19. It was sent to me by Bob. Dude, I'm Edward. I know I'm not the Godfather, but if others aren't going to leave me off their lists, why should I not be on my list too? Still, I'm not the Godfather. Are you?
  20. In terms of play, the mayors kill isn't meant to be useful. It's a penalty for stuffing up the game so far and not rooting out the scum. It can be used to off the Godfather and win. So let's do that. Unless Lindsey herself is the GF (and boy, wouldn't I feel stupid!) we have a shot at doing this. There are ten names to choose from. Who is it? And WHY? Ralph -either a townie who unmasked a scum or a scum who dobbed in a townie. But unlikely to be the GF Joshua - If he's the GF he's the unluckiest one ever, being made mayor, drawing three ScumPols (or two and being dumb enough to toss the town) and then having to pick someone to investigate, hoping he'd hit a scum... Or he could be a scum who tried to clear the GF by TCCing them or investigating them. So. Probably not GF even if scum. Scott - who is Scott? What has he done? Is he the GF and hiding, waiting to be made TCC? Eric - twice made TCC. Passed one of each. Third time the charm? GF in waiting? Patricia - twice made TCC. Passed one of each. Third time the charm? GF in waiting? Anne -The target of Joshua's investigation. Proclaimed town by someone who may be scum? Seems like a valid shot at being GF Michael - Fed Eric a TownPol. Has been active and involved. Could be scum but gut says not GF Edward - if he's the GF, he's been on the spot since the start given he was the first mayor. But probably Town. Actually, I've seen his PM from Bob. Definitely town. So. my short list is Anne, Scott, Eric and Patricia. What's yours? And why?
  21. Peace Olmstyr. I heard this long ago, nothing certain, but the tales of those left refugee pointed that way. But does it matter? We have our word that this would not leave the room on our lips and that word stands. You will have to bear the burden of this knowledge. It will make you better prepared to serve clan Tarokin. What remains however, is what to do with the red death. Does Tra Serral wish to inflict this curse on her descendants or will she risk the ritual. Does Sorryx think he can take the demon knowing it may be ready for him and has been active much longer than he thought.
  22. I saw the madness that was unleashed last time. Personally. It is a big boast you make. But I do not doubt you. The effects of Tarokai still linger, I would not risk that again. You have my word. She narrows her eyes, looking at the Executor. We will have a reckoning on this when this is done.
  23. I trust Lindsey. But not Eric. What can he do though? Yes
  24. Ok. We have had six mayors. Two of them must have discarded a town card. Joshua and Ralph between them likely discarded one. Which leaves Edward(me), Lindsey(Kscary), Michael(jluck) and Christina(fhomess). Lindsey claims she passed two towns. (Though Patricia didn't directly confirm that!) If she discarded a town, that'd mean a three town draw, which for that day would have been a one in fourteen chance. Unlikely. I laid out why it wasn't me in the previous post. So either Michael or Christina. Both of them point half heartedly at me. My argument for it not being Michael is much the same not being me. If he drew two towns and punted one to give (town) Erik the choice, that's more or less the same as handing over the two town cards. If it is Michael, Eric is probably scum too. But I think it's Christina. This is the second time Patricia has been given no choice, it feels like she was set up to be a patsy for Christina. That's my take. I'm gonna go back over previous days and look again. Feel free to do the same.
  25. But it was me doing the calculations. And I know what I threw out. So my numbers were certain. Think about it. If I were scum and drew two town cards and a scum, surely, first round I'd send through the two towns and get in good with the town? I'd also pick the GF straight up, since first mayor rarely gets challenge over their choice of TCC and has the best odds of town draws (unless there are some 3 scum draws which screw the odds). No one has made any good case for why I'd toss a town card blind, since even if I sent through two, the other gets tossed anyway. And if I wanted to be scummy, assuming I did draw two towns and a scum, I'd pass two towns and sadly announce the third was town also, which would screw up the odds calculations just as much and clear the way for a later scum buddy to toss a town card blind and not be challenged on it. If I sent through a town and a scum card I'm town, regardless of whether I drew two towns and scum or two scum and a town. It's sending through two of the same that's the scummy action. Go on, come up with a logical, reasonable play for me to have done both what is known that I did plus what is being assumed I did as well as my being scum. I tell you, it won't hold up.
