    The battle is all but over. The fish cannot hurt either Thalion or Skrall if they stand back, and the poison will do them in in a handful of moments. Let us call this battle done and move on.

    A coin toss isn't chaotic. It's result is in principle knowable from a small set of well defined intial conditions. - weight and shape of coin, intial force vector and distance to path terminus. Yes, knowing the values of those conditions is difficult in practice, but it's not a chaotic system where there is such sensitivity to intial conditions that predicting an outcome is not possible even in principle. Besides, the coin is going to come up heads or tails, one or the other. It's not like it could come up heads, tails, edge, duck, C sharp or Tuesday. If he can flip a coin in such a way to have it come up Tuesday, then he's a chaomancer...

    Nerwen blinked. The clap of energy from her bracelets with the counterstrike charm seemed to drive the ray back momentarily. Nay fair alchemist, I'm not downed yet. A potion would do more good. Nerwen keeps the beat of the lucky chant going, making sure she steps back from the waters edge, behind the comforting bulk of the beast warrior's servant.

    Regarding row, that's fair enough. I'm not going to push you to change it because I didn't specify. As I said I'm a little surprised, but I really shouldn't be since how you do it is how practically every othevQM does it. I was really more kicking myself. On the counterstrike though, I will ask for a ruling. As I said I'd think it happens at the same time a damage, not as a seperate thing. But if it doesn't, it probably won't matter in the long run, it's a hit of less than 8%. Nerwen sees the pointed teeth of the ray at an uncomfortable distance to her head.

    Dammit for not specifying row. Although I'm a bit surprised you defaulted to the front row when unspecified given I was singing. And I'm not sure where you got 66 damage from anyway, demon rays are level 43. Counterstrike damage also please, I know Nerwen is KO'd but I'd think damage and counterstrike happen at the same time, so she'd still get it. Nerwen blinks the salt spray from her eyes, one of the demon rays coming closer and closer...

    Nerwen checked her equipment. Being in her fourth decade of experience she could use four items at once. Lesser etherial cloak on her back, medal of valour on a fine chain around her neck, leather armour nestled snugly under her stunning dress and the counterstrike glove enchantment bound onto the bracelets around her wrists. She was ready for combat and looked fabulous. Here fishy, fishy, fishy!

    Nerwen looked around at her fellow heroes on the sandbar, and then out to sea. The water that had seemed so busy was now eerily still. There was no sign of the beast. Perhaps a bone would lure the beast in?

    Lithe and agile, Nerwen darts across the frosted surface, leaping onto the sandbar next to Skrall. Skillfully done Thalion. I expect we need to end the monster to end the story. Does anyone have something to lure it nearer?

    Yeah, I thought about that then shrugged and left it in. I can try to justify it if any of the characters on quest bring it up. Otherwise it's just something someone said, which may or may not have any basis in universe. It's amusing that you bring up the railway thing, since olegia doesn't (as far as I know) have stock exchanges where percentages of publicly listed companies are traded back and forth for profit, an activity equally anachronistic.
