The McLaren, eh? One of my local supermarkets has a stack of 'em. 42114 was nearly two years ago, though, so that's understandable. As for the Zetros, it's been revised recently so that might explain the scarcity. And the Cat? No idea on that one. Shame about the Liebherr being pushed back though. Wonder if it'll get an early release for next year, or if it might take 2023's flagship slot?

Yeah, that's also a point. Less buzz creates less excitement.

I don't think licensing is the problem in and of itself. Some truly great sets have been licensed (8110, 42030, 42043, 42053, 42055, 42081 and so on). But yes, your other points have merit.

1. The practical elimination of B-models and retirement of PF are definitely steps backward in my book. The serious focus on cars, cars, cars is also a problem. 2. I see sets and MOCs as two different groups, so I wouldn't even compare them. 3. Moving all B-model manuals to digital only has sapped some of the fun out of building. Nothing is as satisfying as opening up a manual and getting started.

So the only proper 2H sets we're getting this year are the waste handler and Airbus chopper, then?

Built the B-model this morning. It probably would've been better if the dog bone beam was used in the chassis - it feels a bit flimsy with the cab attached by a single connector. No worm gear mechanism is also a bit of a letdown, but other than that it's okay.

Great job on the cab, it looks really authentic.

Technic digital instructions now use a grey background rather than white for some reason. So basically if you want to print them off it'll use more ink and is now less cost-effective.
