  1. Also great licenses for LEGO to aim for in the future!
  2. That's a good set you've chosen! If you're looking for a really good set, the 42052 helicopter might be worth a look. So far, though, the only '16 set I have is the 42049 Mine Loader, and I only chose that because it's a yellow mining vehicle; your mileage might vary on that one. Ultimately, it's up to you. Check out some videos and see what you like the look of.
  3. The MK II Mobile Crane from 2013 had 1000 pins at least.
  4. Three licensed sets in one year. Wow. I hope this leads to more licensed stuff next year. It'd be great if LEGO designed something with license from American companies like Caterpillar as well.
  5. We don't have enough fire trucks. Oh, City gets one every half-year, but the concept's just too good for Technic! I guess 8454 and 8289 were met with fairly lukewarm reception and LEGO just didn't want to risk it. Looking at the lone image of 42051 that exists, it does use some parts in unique or rare colours, and maybe LEGO didn't want to waste them on a set that might not sell. I'd like it, though, if only for the fact that, well, it's a fire truck!
  6. I'm really liking this set right now. Pneumatics, Volvo license and a great B-model? Count me in. Funnily enough, this is the first licensed model not to feature PF right out of the box. Wonder if this'll set a precedent for sets in the future?
  7. Well, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo have had two sets apiece so far, so you never know.
  8. Slow down there! We've still got months to go until the 2H sets for 2016!
  9. Don't forget the 42033 Record Breaker - that's quite a recent example.
  10. From the scale offered by the mining truck, the BWE does look like it actually features a multilevel cab.
  11. Because the BWE features a white version of 42035 (I've looked at Kumbbl's photo and there are some design differences) I wonder if you could build a white Wheel Dozer? Holodoc's recent post features a WD, too.
  12. Excepting the BWE, which features design work from Markus Kossman and Alfred Pedersen (he did design 42035, after all), I wonder who designed the 2H sets?
  13. Well, with damn near 4000 parts this leaves the Arocs in the dust. I think the most challenging thing about this model is not building it, but finding somewhere to put it.
  14. This is all intriguing news. Think the Volvo's my top contender.
  15. Good points, true. Someone likes it, though - it's the July picture on the LEGO 2016 calendar!
  16. I think all the hate being directed at 42050 is a little unfair. It comes with some great parts, it's trying to do something different, and its designer (Aurelien "Rou" Rouffiange) hasn't done many big models - in fact, I think the only relatively large set he did before now is 42038 - and to be honest I think he's done an okay job. There are less impressive sets out there.
  17. Me, I'm getting it because it's the only heavy-industry related set in the 1H lineup. Odd, considering there's usually at least two.
  18. Think this is the only 1H set I'll be getting. Guess I'm waiting for 2H for the rest of the construction stuff! This set looks okay to me; it includes the instructions for both models, which is cool, and includes some great parts. I like that it's not just another bucket loader and that it actually tries something different, too.
  19. I for one hope that black and grey axles don't get phased out. I don't understand why Lego have decided to change the colours - black and grey were just fine. The new axles aren't even warranted by the set designs, so what's happened here?! Also, am I the only one who wants the Mine Loader?
  20. Well, they should be available from the Shop website in mid-late December. LEGO Stores usually have the new stuff on the 1st of January, with retailers like Toys R Us getting it soon after.
  21. Agreed. Purple is so rare; we haven't seen it since 1998 in the Technic line, and not much outside it either. I think the only purple element I've owned is a Gungan shield from my early days. Looking back on it, maybe there should've been more models in purple, although it's hard to say what would fit the colour. Purple combine harvester? Purple scraper?
  22. Not to moderate, but "retarded" is an offensive word and should not be used on this forum.
  23. I think it all sounds good really. I'm definitely anticipating the latter sets more than the "1H" wave, although I do want the Mine Loader. Wonder if it'll go with the BuWheEx?
