While you might not like big vehicles, many do, and i don't believe that oversized vehicles are the reason that there will be no Batman in 09, or why Speed Racer failed. As you meantioned, agents was very sucessfull, and nearly every vehicle was oversized, as was the very popular Coast Guard Theme. Little kids love bigger trucks with more gadgets and details. Somthing thatis harderto do in a smaller package. Speed racer failed because the movie failed. Also other than the cars the sets sucks. Espeacaily that so called truck. Forme the high light of 08 was Coast Guard. Great sets, great colors! Techinc was good too! More power functions, as well as the introduction of linear Actuators!

BUt this isn't a story.. Its a Moc. NOw if he just did amoc of the plantation house, that would be fine. I personally wouldn't see any problems with that cause that like you said, would just be mocing the architecture of the house. But to want to add a cotton field, slaves working in the cotton field, and slave houses.... Is a bit much. Again, just my opinion.
-
The ones i don't want the little ones to touch, get put in a room thats off limits. Its also made very clear were they can and can't go in the house. If they do go in that room after spesificly being told its off limits and stat tearing into sets there not supposed to, then they have lost there lego prilages for the evening, and will have to resort to sitting in a corner or with thier parents. You have to be strict with them from the get go!

Instead of adding a usless post yourself, why not add sugjestions to the thread starter on wear to look for threads that might have covered this topicin the past? Posts like that don't make people feel very welcomed.

I bought 4 myself! Its like having a little beach fleet!

While i think you did a great job onthe detail of the house... Can i ask what makes you want to do a recreation of a plantation? Above that slave houses?? While i understand this is a part of american history i don't see whay someone would want to recreate this in lego's.

So cause others do it, it makes it ok, or not as bad? Sorry, don't buy it. There are plenty of other celebrities out there that don't do half the stupid crap she does. They get followed as well. Point being, is that she is a celebrity. Being a celebrity, means she needs to take extra steps espeacailly when it comes to her kids, not to make a fool of yourself. Is she perfect? No. Is she going to mess up? Yes. As will anyone at some point. But she takes it to an extent. Ya,i know there are plenty of other people out there that drive/walk/go to work without underwear on, but if you knew the media was following you 24/7, it might be in your best interest to cover up some don't you think? As far as the "Whole story", no, i'm sure we don't know everything, but thats still no excuse for abusing alcohol, putting your kids in danger, and all the other stupid behavoir that she brings on herself. Again, there are plenty of other celebrities out there that seem to be able to live fairly normal lives without attacting the attention that she does.

City 7633 Construction Site Now Available at TRU
5150 Lego replied to bullet8542's topic in LEGO Town
And why does it bug you so much? Your constantly going around trying to "mini mod" people. Its getting very anoying. He's happy about finding a new set and said once he finds out how to post somepics for us he will. Let him be. -
Not sure if i would go as far as saying she's "Talented". More like entertaining. Her voice really isn't that good. Remember her VMA perfomace last year? Some of her songs do have a good beat though. Sorry, but she has no one to blame but herself for all the bad pubisity she has gotten. Shaving her head, putting her kid in her lap when driving, Alcohol abuse, stepping out of a vehicle not once, but TWICE without underwear on, Partying late night instead of being home with her kids, putting her kids in harms way multiple times... This is all HER fault, and no one elses. I realise that she gets followed by mulitple paparatzy, but its because of stunts like these that they continue to follow her everywhere she goes.

In the U.S., sets that have the "speacail edition" on the boxes are TRU exclusives for at least the first half of the year. Don't know how it will work in your counrty though, so yes, it is true.

Good thing i checked, cause i was going to do a review of this set once the pics became public. Nice review! I have to agree, this is without a doubt the best dump truck TLC has ever made! The detail is exellent!

REVIEW: 4997 Creator ~ Transport Ferry
5150 Lego replied to Siegfried's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Great review Sinner! I have this set as well, andhave been thinking about building the ferry. The only thing i don't like about it is that you can't fit tall vehicles inside. A for the ferry, ya, anthing but f wide has problems getting in and out in the front of the ferry. oh well, thats why we have reverse! -
Thanks for all the nice coments guys! It was my pleasure to do the review.I'll make sure that i resize the pics for my next review! You are correct. Standard whitefence with plates to help stabalize it. Turn them 90degrees and it allows you to slide it inside the horse trailer. The "Modular build"refers to the build process. You build the mini figs first, then the truck, and then the trailer. I guess this is for the parents that build the sets for there kids, so they can give them somthing to play with while each part of the set gets built.

8261 review! brickshelf find
5150 Lego replied to shimon's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The early 09" sets are starting to pop up. I found the new 4WD with horse trailer over the weekend at TRU. It too was one of the projected January released sets too. I think by the end of this month we'll start to see most of the new sets avaible. -
Cool! Thanks for the Blog! Edited by TheBrickster. Please see your PM.

Thank you Brickster! My pleasure! And did i meantion i didn't even find the Pooh Bear i was looking for? Oh well. Ithink i made out with somthing alittle better. At least for me. (Although i have to admit, i was dispapointed i wasn't able to find a decent stuffed Pooh Bear )
-
We'll since the pictures became public a few hours ago i have recieved several Pm's asking about doing a review for this little set. So without further adue...... may i present to you.... the new 4WD horse and trailer set! Lets get started! I've been asked by several people how i got this. No secret. Just went to my local TRU acctually looking for a small Winie -the- Pooh bear for my little niece and of course i had to check the lego section. Low and behold look what i found! Orginally this, along with all of the new 09 sets were thought to be coming out in early 09, but it looks like TLC decided on an early realse date. They also had a couple new racer sets, but this one grabbed my interest the most. Anyways, on with the review! Set# :7635 Name: 4WD with Horse Trailer # of pieces:176 Price: $24.99 USD First the box.. Nice back ground art work of the set as a whole. Notice the the limited edtion at the bottom right corner. I'm guessing that it means it will be limited to TRU for the rest of 08 and first half of 09'. Next the instruction manual. Nothing specail, just like any other manual. Sorry, i forgot to take a picture of a random page. . Next the figures, horse and accesories... We get two figures, a driver/trainer, horse rider, horse, sadle and jumping fence. I really like the torso of the trainer. Nice blue flanel type shirt. I'm sure its nothing new, but i don't have anything like it in my town, so it was a nice addtion! The torso on the female rider is nothing new. I believe its the same rider torso and hard hat that we've had for years, but its always nice to have another female face. The horse is also nothing new. Here its pictured with the sadle on, but it also come with a brown 1x2 brick with a flate plate to fill the horses back when the sadle is removed. Sorry,no pic, but its the same as nearly every horse TLC has realsed in the last two decades. We also have a fence that the horse can jump. Notice the feet that the fence mount on. More on that later. Now on to the 4x4... This is one of the best SUV's that TLC has made! I can defenatly see this being madeinto a full expedtion type vehicle,or even police/fire chief truck. Great detail all around. I love the detail in the front with the head lamps and foglamps. The design of the roof rack is great. You could easily attach tools to it, as well as roof mounted lights. The rear has a nice clean design. using an old school slanted 4 wide wind shield as a back glass. You can also see the new trailer hitch reciever. I like this design better since it allows more articulation between the tow vehicle and trailer. There's also plenty of room inside... The bad part about this 4x4 is that the rear of it doesn't open. Thats a shame cause it would have made loading and unloading cargo alot more enjoyable. Also notice that the real portion of the roof or the "roof rack' section is held on by a full lenth of studs. This makes removing the roof for cargo or our cute little rider alot more diffacult. But as you can see, the good news is that you can fit a second mini fig back there... You'll also notice there is no seat in the back. this is because a mini fig would be to tall sitting on a seat for the roof to close. personally, i would have rather TLC rasied the roof by one plate and added a rear seat. No biggie. Nothing a little modding couldn't fix! Now on to the trailer.... I like the color sceam. Nice arrow dynamic shape in the front, with the "ranch" horse logo to mach the 4x4. The rear loading ramp also has nice details with a brake/tail lights and amber turn signals. Also we have some caution plates. Sadly, these are stickers, and not printed pieces. Also note the loading lamp at the top rear of the trailer. A shot inside the trailer... Only room for one horse. He will fit inside either way. Here's a shot with our trusty stead loaded up ready to go... Now remember the jumping fence? Notice the feet its attaced to. Well if you turn the feet horazontaly, you have enough room to slide it inside the trailer, even with the horse inside. Hitched up, ready to go! So lets go over everything... Pro's- -Great design (espeacaily the 4x4) - nice color sceam, -great playabiltiy -nice change to the comon police, fire and construction sets Con's- - Can't open the rear hatch of the 4x4 - at $24.99 USD, its a little pricey Overall, i really like this set. This would look great in any town layout! Great way to start off the 09' sets! With this one being out so early, this leaves me to believe that the reat of the 09' sets shouldn't be to far away!

Yup, those are my pics! Picked it up Saturday night, and uploaded pics Sunday afternoon. I'm at work right now (taking a lunch break ) but expect a full review later on tonight!

I respectfully disagree. I think that the new construction sets are exactly what fans (mainly kids) want. For example, take a look on brickshelf and doa search for "crane". you'll come across thouands of examples and different variations. While i understand that TLc companmy seems to comeout with one or two every couple years, thats cause it (along with a variaty of other constrution equipment) are probbbly the most popular out of the city line. remeber that TLC is firsst and for most a childrens toy, so they need to cater to them first. Imean think about it. As a kid, whitch would you have rather played with..... A big crane,or bull dozer, ....... or a bank set? Now i'm not saying that a bank is a bad idea, just not on most kids priority Why do you say that? The Coast gaurd helicopter wasn't <insert that tiresome argument>( and please don't reffer to its tale section . It worked out very nice for that set) , and its size was perfect for its function. I'd ove for somthing simular in size. . What?? Are you kidding me? The cement mixer was to big? Trucks like the cementmixer and a tow truck should be at minimum 6 wide. heck, i'm hoping for an 8 wide!!! Anyways, this list sounds really promising. Everything has the potential of being really good. I've been hoping for a Camper of some sort for awhile now. I hope TLC doesn't mess this one up. The garage sounds really good. I'm wondering if it will be a repair garage or a tunner type garage. My guess will be a repair garage since we already have a couple different tunner garages. Hopfully with a couple working bays, and vehicle lifts!
-
Agreed. This could be preety promising.lets hope its a super car of some sort. But i'd settle for a 1:17th scale like the ferrari F-430's and Enzo. The Ferrari F1 cargo sounds enteresting. Maybe a transport truck of some sort? I hope its not to that mini scale we'vve been seeing though. lets hope for at least mini fig scale. The rest of the list doesn't enterest me much.
