  1. Is there any way to get a close up pic of the tires? Are the treads the same as previous sets like in 4404?
  2. Great review! I saw this at TRU today while doing some window shopping. I'm a bit intrigued by this set, but somthing is hoilding me back from buying it. Oh ya, the fact that i'm broke! But seriously, this set does seem to be lacking. I can apreacaite the power functions, but for the price, it just... Well... lacks. I'm wondering how hard it would be to add a working engine. Also, this is the first time i think i'd preffer to build the alternate model. Reason being ithe flat bed seems to be more usful transporting equipment or even the cool converatble.

Ya, the factr that it looks alot like the fire station does through me off a bit. I might have to rearange it a bit when i get it. The long garage section with the role up door does look entriging though. As do the dual lifts.
  4. Wow, this set looks great! How was this review not front paged?? Great job on the review. One question. Now that you've reversed the teeth on the mining wheel in there propper direction, does the mining wheel work better now?
  5. Nice review! I remember buying this along with 7044 helocopter years ago. I bought this set formy nephew, and the helocopter for myself! This was during my dark ages and i remeber him and I having alot of fun playing with both these sets. Brings back some good memories. Thanks for bringing me back Brickster!

I think the Garage is the best looking out of them all! But i hear ya. I know the garage your talking about, but i too can't remember the name or set number. Edit: Found it!! Is this what you were talking about? http://peeron.com/inv/sets/6394-1

What?? Are you kidding? That wouldn't give mini figs much room inside! The pic on brickshelf suggjects other wise. Looks like 6 wide to me! Although this pic is preety blurry, it defenatly looks six wide. You can tell by the windshield and front grill. Edit by Hinckley: Please never post blurry pics of preliminary confidential product designs here. Thank you.
  8. Its very nice, and does have some great detail, but sorry, its not even close to being worth the asking bid. I can apreaciate the design, but generally when asking for a price this high, one ussually WILL base there moc after a real structure. This generally shows more detail, as well as it ussualy makes the model more impressive to those that aren't familuar with LEGO. I can't remeber her name, but there was a lady by the name of Jennifer that built scalca LEGO construction vehicles that were based on real equipment. All her creations had full functions, including engines, suspentions, working booms, diggers etc. Like MacK said, ifthey plan on selling there creations, i'd suggest starting off with smaller creations andmaking a name for themselfs. More people would be willing to drop more cash on creations from builder they seen work from before, as well as experaince with shipping such large creations. Good luck to them!
  9. Clothes New Lego Contruction site Portable GPS for my truck!
  10. ehh.. I don't know. The last the (first three i guess) weren't all that good. SOiguess i'm not expecting all that much froma full blown live action series. But i'll with hold ful judgment till i see some clips.
  11. Looks like i won too! Sweet! Thank you to the eurobricks staff! PM sent!
  12. exellent! I have to say this is one of the best Fire engines i've seen! Great job! I love how the ladder extends with the boom.
  13. Wow, what a list! Lets get started!... While i'm not a huge space fan, its nice to see space police make a come back! Looking forward to some pics! Looking forward to highway transport Though i am curious about the fire rescue. The fighter plane attack sounds promising. I'm thinking a WWII fighter plane such as a Spit Fire or Mechersmitte 109 (sorry i know i spelt that wrong) Very curious about the Ferrari truck. Maybe an updated Scudieria Hauler! Damm. Was hoping for somthing a little different for the late 09 flag ship for techinc. Although i have to say, i love cranes, so i guess i'm not to disapointed. Front Loader... Not sure how many versions of a front Loader you can have, but i'll with hhold full judgment till i see pics. The Command rig sounds promising! If i get any set in this theme, this will probbly be it! Com'on now. How is this any differnt than Flick fire missles or bombs in Starwars? Real miners regularly use dynamite to blast there way through tunels and mountains, so i would say this set fits in nicly with this theme.

    City '09?

Like others have said, kids don't think along the lines of adults. Yes, those trucks are rather big for a standard LEgo city, but they still look good with Mini figs. As a kid i too would have much prefered the larger sets as they give more playbility. Also, to be honest, i really don't see anything in the current town selection not fitting in toeghter. The new base plates except 8 wide vehicles just fine, and look wellproportioned against buildings like Cafe Corner, or even the creator houses. Not sure if i agree with that. It really depends on how you set up your town. It might be harder to incorperate some of the newer larger vehicles and structures with the older ones, but guess what? Tiomes change, as will the size of vehicles and the buildings. Personally ithink Lego is doing a bang up job! I love 4 to 6 wide cars ans SUV's. 6 wide meduim duty trucks, with 8 wide semi's is just fine by me! keep it up TLC! The more realistic the better! Not to dampen any spirts here, but why does everyone seem to think that the city corner is going to be a buss stop/station of some sort? Has anyone found anything to support this, or are we just taking guess at what City corner might be?

Cause thats what kids like. As long as kids are interested in Lego's, TLC will make big trucks of every sort for them to play with! As well as Adults like myself!! This is true. They also, transport small planes, and military will transport tanks to the front line with trucks rather than drive them cause its cheaper. I completely agree with you Grevious. I can appreaciate classic town sets, but greatly preffer newer city sets and 6 to 8 wide trucks as there more detailed, and more to scale. big rig trucks shouldn't be the same size as the family sedan.
  16. Iunderstand your fustration. But remeber what the governator said in T3. "You did not prevent Judgment day, you just posponed it. Judgment day is inevedable." I it possible to link all the movies, as well as the new movies, and the series? I guess. But i'm banking that they weren't exactly supposed to be complettely linked. Kinda like the differnt versions of Transformers. Simular storylines, but different universe if that makes any sence. Speaking of the new movie. Somthing has been bugging me. In the first trailer for the new Terminator: Salvation, John says "This isn't the future my mother warned me about... In this futrue, ....I don't know if we can win this war." For some reason, i don't think were going to see the "futuristic battle" that they show clips of in the first two movies. I dunno, maybe i'm just reading to much into it.
  17. What about Coast Guard? Or are you including that in city? If Coast Guard isn't included as a new theme, i'd have tosay Agent was the best new theme of 08,and City being the best over all simply because of Coast Guard!
  18. Great little review. I really like this new Loader, and think it will comliment the new dump truck very well. Going back to the piton thing, you have it attached to the bucket. IS there enough friction to keep the bucket up without it being braced?
  19. Great review! I have this set, and itsone of my favorites! One of the better hellocopter designs from TLC. ONe flaw with your review though. You meationed that the rear compatment could house either the buey, or the gurnie. Its not wide enough for the gurnie, only the buey.
  20. Its funny how many post like this you see. So many people are very quick to pass off a new set that they' ve only seen a couple pics of cause they asume that its built a certain way,or has large parts that don't offer much flexability when it comes to mocing. Then they see a review of the set and add it to there must buy list! Goes to show you you can't judge everything right away! Thanks for the great review. This will defenatly be on my buy list!
  21. So what does this mean for Button? I know Barrichello didn't have a contract signed, but i thought they had Button locked in? Will he drive for the new team owners?
  22. NOt a Scuderia hauler, but somthing more universal, as eventully i plan to build other race inspired cars. Design stats right after Christmass, then its off to brick link for the parts! I look forward to your service station motorized. That will be one big feat!
  23. I'd love to see Porche get in on F1. Or even Audi for that matter.
  24. Thank you very much for your explantion. After reading this i see your point and agree with you 100%. If history is your passion, then i see nothing wrong with recreating a very import part of it in Lego form. I apreaciate you understanding my concerns, and apoligizeif i cameacross harsh. Your moc as opened my eyes a bit as well as not to imeadiatly look for the bad in somthing, but rather look for the good. Great job!
  25. This is probbly one of the best mocs i've ever scene. The detail,as well as functions are incredable! Very well done. All your trucks have always had a leel of detail that has been above and beyond the previous one. I'm using your models as insperation for mynext project. Its going to be a truck and trailera bit larger than your model team truck. Big enough for the 1:17 scale Ferrari cars lego realsed last year. Again, great job. I'm curious to see how you'll top this one!
