  1. That's a pretty good custom Padme Joshua Hetzler. Seeing that just reinforces the need for Lego to release more Padme minifigures. I suspect at this stage we may be disappointed in 2010 since of all the rumoured set there don't seem to be a set where Padme will feature but hey Lego included quite random minifigs before so maybe there's some hope yet.
  2. Yeah. At the Warehouse. Sorry I left that bit of important information out. My bad.
  3. 20% off Lego this weekend. Haha .. second chance for those who missed out earlier in the week.
  4. Very very nice MOC. Love them all. I can almost imagine Rambo's face when Stormtrooper X a renegade ex-Stormtrooper takes off his helmet.
  5. That is a seriously good MOC. Reminds me of Titan Quest ... a game I been playing recently.
  6. Thanks for the good review. This is a nice set despite some of its shortcomings. Will be interesting to compare it to the new one ... assuming the rumours are correct.
  7. Whoa! You're lucky. If only my local Toyworld has old sets still going for a RRP. I'm not even going to be greedy and expect a discount.
  8. I think everyone get their satisfaction differently. Some just like them MISB while others want to open them. I think it will take less time than 10 years to sell them for a profit. There's set from 2008 that you only need to hold for less than 12 months to profit from (especially Star Wars set). And for some set ... you might not even make a profit in 10 years.
  9. I think it depends on each individual store. There were plenty on the shelves at Sylvia Park but the Botany branch had all their Home One packed away. I'm just glad I managed to get one. I didn't think I'll get it when we first saw the $250 price tag on S@H but at $152 ... its great!
  10. A Top 10 will make it easier to choose from all the great MOCs but here's my Top 5: UCS TIE Defender by cavegod AT-RT by DutchRebel AT-AW by Commander Tac UCS V-Wing by Olog Separatist Landing Craft by Rook
  11. This is a great MOC. The orange colour is loud but it fits. Love to have one in my study. Thanks for sharing.
  12. Arrhh ... seeing that picture bought back memories of playing Tie Fighter on the PC all those years ago. I hope if the TIE Defender rumour is true then LEGO will give it a good treatment. Its definitely my favourite TIE series craft. I think Slave 1 with Boba and all those other minifigures will be great. I missed out on all the Slave 1 that has gone before so I look forward to this one.
  13. I do both. The sets where I keep MISB is usually where I find the sets late in the season on sale for a very very low price. With smaller sets like BP I sometime do buy multiple and keep one MISB but with bigger sets its only if it goes on sale.
  14. Very cool MOC. The walls and door way is really well done. Very much like what you see in the movies. And the play on the mouse droid is very clever and funny.
  15. Just adding to Callum's post, I also spotted Space Police sets at Warehouse Botany. The prices are: Freeze Ray Frenzy for $20 Gold Heist for $40 Hyperspeed Pursuit for $96 Squidman Escape for $13 I also picked up a Home One! So glad to find it and at such a great price too. Hey Callum, are you saying you're going to get half a dozen Home One? You must be loaded.
  16. This is an interesting one. I think it will be a nice set ... its quite different from all the other SW sets we seen so far. The stormtroopers helmets will be great because then I can replace those my nephews lost for me.
  17. I better call around the Warehouses close to me then. I bet it will just be my luck that there's finally 20% off and its out of stock! Yup! I admit it. I did it. I'm responsible for 118 of them.
  18. Saw it 2-3 weeks ago in Auckland for $189. Not sure if the price changed since and obviouly can't help w/ Chch Warehous availability.
  19. Sweet! Thanks evil_elmo. Home One and Pirate Tank here I come! That's assuming there's any left.
  20. Its beautiful. You got top value for the time and effort you put into these. The decals and parts you used to build this ... are they trade secrets? I'll love to build a clone.
  21. This is amazing and you didn't just create a statute. You built it with moveable parts too! Do you have a Boba Fett minifigure? If so it will be a nice contrast to put it next to this MOC.
  22. My goodness ... you're a prolific MOC maker. Can't wait.
  23. Found out in the weekend that Kmart hasn't put up the price of the AAT like they did with the other Star Wars sets. Its still $88 and with the current 15% off its $75. I think Space Police must be close to hitting the shelves if the Warehouse is putting them up on their website. I think it was about 2 months between seeing Home One on their website and then seeing it on the shelves.
  24. Very nice MOC. Lots of detail and so realistic. Seeing this is what you came up with then I say you don't need the two official versions and haven't really missed out on anything. I need to go back and check but I thought the pilot in these things have the imperial officer uniform rather than TIE pilot outfit. Thanks for sharing.
  25. Very nice MOC. The proportions are great ... has a certain Evangelion feel to it. I like the fact that it is a firefighting Mech. Usually when you see Mech they have a combat focus. And the pilot is just fantastic. Do you think it will look better if you somehow put some of those emergency services flashing lights on it? Thanks for sharing.
