  1. City Corner (NZ$100) and Cemetery Battle (NZ$50) are in the shops now. I haven't seen any Space Police sets in NZ yet (if anyone has then please let me know as I'm interested in having a look). Not sure about the Creator Family Home since that's not an area I look at much (mostly City, Castle, Star Wars and Indy for me).
  2. I'm an Aucklander but on the other side of the bridge from Albany. Don't go to Albany much because its too far. Do much of my Lego shopping at the Toyworld in Onehunga. Its the one Toyworld that don't seem to inflate their Lego prices above the RRP. I remember reading some reviews abt the Spider Droid being wobbly. Doesn't stand well on its legs and not all that playable. Legs keep falling off if you try to move it. I bought one just for Cmdr Fox.
  3. I'm in Auckland KnightlyKnight. I thought I got a bargain at $100 but not as good as your $50. Oh well! Can't win it all. I think I'll need to start saving for the Kmart sale coming up. CommanderFox I think many of us Kiwi Lego fans spent a bit this last week with all the new sets coming out and the 30% sale at Farmers. What it tells me is that if TLC will just reduce their prices by 30% then they will sell heaps more and a lot faster too. I hope this 30% thing will be a regular.
  4. The 30% sale at Farmers ends today so if you want to grab that Cairo set at $17.50 then you better do it today. I hope NZ will get the Death Star too AND a good discount like the Falcon last year!! Fingers crossed!!
  5. Thanks for the excellent review. I felt in love with the Venator when I saw it in Ep3 and when I heard about this set I told myself I got to get it. After seeing some of the pictures of this set and reading this review I lost some of my interest but was still siding towards wanting it. When I saw the NZ$300 (US$180) price tag on Shop@Home (plus shipping) I decided the set isn't good enough to justify that price. The set isn't perfect (I find it too stubby and not enough minifigures) but there will be a price point where its ok and NZ$300 ain't it. I bought one in the end when I found it on sale for NZ$210.
  6. I think it depends on the individual TW shops. Couple of years ago I snapped up that big Exoforce Fortress set for 50% off and last year I picked up the Twilight for $100. I didn't find the same sets with the same discount at all the TW. Only one of them.
  7. Great review. Very informative and made my decision to buy one much easier. Definitely don't regret buying this set. Han Solo and the Tauntaun are the best component of this set for me. I recommend the set to other Lego SW fans.
  8. CommanderFox, make sure you update your profile photo with your new Commander Fox photo but I think your custom Commander Fox is pretty good. $210 for Venator is a good discount but I think that's still overpriced for the set ... just not as overpriced as $300!!
  9. I just blew my Lego budget on the Venator but $210 is much more reasonable than $300!! And I picked up a Clone Walker Battle Pack and the new Indy Battle Pack. Needed to buy 3 items to get the 30% off.
  10. I better go check it out. I hope they have some Clone Walker Battle Pack then. Time for the GAR to enlist a few more clones!!! Thanks for the headsup!!
  11. Decided not to get the Ywing. Can't justify it but I am hoping that Kmart will stock it cheaper. Just saw the Venator on the Lego website. RRP is $300!! Looks like Toyworld didn't inflate their price on this one. Lego did!!!
  12. I bought 2 Echo Base, 1 Tank Droid and 1 Sep Shuttle. I'm in love with the Echo Base set too. That E-Web Repeating Blaster is fantastic. Reminds me of WWII german soldiers with their machine guns. I'm debating whether to get Anakin's Ywing (I think this is seriously overpriced at $140) but probably won't. Might end up getting another Echo Base instead. Got until lunchtime to decide. Like you guys I can't wait for the remaining 2009 sets. August might be 2 months away but after seeing these new sets I can't wait now.
  13. Just got back from visiting my in-laws and at their local Toyworld: Anakin's Y Wing ($150) Sep Shuttle ($75) Echo Base ($50) CA Tank Droid ($50) Got Echo Base and the Tank Droid (20% off). Didn't get the other two because I think Farmers had them cheaper.
  14. The Separatist Shuttle has Nute Gunray in. I can't remember the set number. Its not the Republic Shuttle with Mace Windu. The prices I quoted are pre discount so you take 20% off those prices. Hope that clarified it. The Sep Shuttle is pretty cool in terms of minifigures. I'm not so sure about the Y Wing because its quite expensive and the minifigures are not unique (Anakin, Ahsoka and R2).
  15. Just got back from my local Farmers. No CIS Tank but I did find the Sep Shuttle ($69.99) and Anakin's Y Wing ($139.99).
  16. Farmers is having a 20% off toys over the Queens Birthday weekend ... actually I was told it starts today. I'm going to see if I can grab a discounted tank droid.
  17. I bought parts and minifigures on Bricklink over the last 6 months. Mostly US sellers but 1 Dutch seller. My experience been great so far and I found the prices good. I stuck to sellers with a large number of positive feedbacks and I tend to ask them questions and use their responses (eg how quickly they get back, how detail they answer etc) to help decide whether they can be trusted. Hope that helps and I hope I haven't jinxed my Bricklink experience with this post. =)
  18. My local Toyworld stocked the UCS Falcon ... I believe there was one still available last weekend. Kmart definitely had it last year because that's where I bought mine. Wonder if there will bring in any large exclusives this year. Just got back from Farmers and found the Imperial Dropship and Rebel Scout Speeder in stock. Good opportunity to increase the size of my stormtrooper army.
  19. Discovering this forum and Bricklink must be two of the better things to have happened to me recently. Would be much better had I found out about Bricklink when the NZD was at 0.80 to the USD. Oh well ... u can't win all the time. I'm still deciding whether I want the hassle of arguing with them about what's in the flyer. I just want to see if anyone else managed to get the free membership with the $50 purchase.
  20. My local Warehouse told me that I need to buy $100 of Lego to get the free Lego Club membership. There's a mistake in the flyer. I wonder if it is the same with other Warehouse? Anyone else encountered the same issue?
