  1. That's it, it is finally confirmed 100%: Agents OWNS. Yes, the days of mish-mashed Alpha team crap are over - Agents is really a brand new theme, and has gotten everything right, including all the things that Alpha Team got WRONG. These two kits are fine examples - wonderful construction, amazing piece selection, lots of playability, awesome figures, awesome vehicles.... man, I'm in love with this theme! TLC, you have done it - and if this theme doesn't sell well and get a second wave next year... man, don't wanna even think about it.
  2. You must be the third person who thought of making a fighter out of the Chameleon Hunter parts. The first was someone on Lugnet, and the second was me. This is a really cool model - I love the landing gear. The cockpit is great as well. Actually though, you only need a few grey bricks and slopes to totally fill up the holes on the official model - thats what I did when I bought it.
  3. Excellent review. Loving. This. Set. I mean, come on, it's a flipping tank! Awesomeness is written all over this - from all those blades and scoops at the front to the mini rover. And yes, you can even turn it into a motorized battle tank! Reminds me of the old technic days when they advertised in the manuals how to hook up the kits with separately sold motors. Another day, another review of an awesome set. Yes, this is sure TLC's year!
  4. Awesome. I am such a sucker for System/Bionicle fusion MOC's, and these are possibly the most original I've ever seen. Turning the first Bionicle clone sets into these personal exo-suits for minifigs was genius. Indeed. When I build creations, I often like to tie them in with their own storyline as well. It makes them seem a lot more realistic and gives the person a better idea of what they really are in the lego world.
  5. Great review, Mr. Boba Fett. I really like this set a lot. Some of the features may not be as good as I hoped they would, but overall this looks to be a really nice set. I'm so happy that the giant spacecrafts are finally back. Hm, actually, I don't see the comparison. Eagle base looked terible to me right from the start, so it was no suprise when it ended up being the weakest kit in the first year. This big ship, on the other hand, looked great as soon as I saw it, and still looks good.
  6. Thanks for another great review, brickbitz. I like this set, despite the lack of new figures and the lack of an interior in the plane. All the vehicles are great, and there seems to be a ton of acessories. Now, the real question is - where did we see this in indy 4? (we didn't)
  7. Great index. I was originally going to do this myself a while ago, but I sorta forgot. Glad to see someone else spared me the pain of getting all those links.
  8. It is confirmed - Mazeka rules. Finally, we're getting something this year other than a flying vehicle - a four legged turret? Yes, oh yes, TLC! Even better is the fact that Mazeka is really well designed from the looks of it. A strong, bulky build with lots of armor, a sick multi zamor clip, and an actual seat for the rider! Only thing I don't like is that Mazeka himself is really just Kazi with Nuparu Mahri's mask. If we don't get a brand new mask mold, fine, but they could have at least given him a recolored Volitak. It ain't that hard to use the same mold to make a mask in a new color. Oh well, it doesn't really matter. Finally, we get an awesome exclusive this year, right up with Nocturn and Karzahni! I've actually thought a combination of the two designs would be best. To me, the ideal Ko-Matoran design would be Kazi from 2006 - an armored body with thin limbs. You can see that Kazi was a lot stockier body wise than Piruk, Balta, or Dalu, but not as stocky as the earth and stone types, which I'd assumed would be the bulkiest. Ah, I remember when it was a lot simpler back in 2001 - every Tohunga was exactly the same, design wise.
  9. Well, since my brother got to go to Six Flags on an end of school year field trip today, my mom paid for me to go see Indiana Jones 4 with a friend. To tell you the truth, I really liked it. It certainly wasn't a bad movie, by far. In fact, I really got a lot of the Indy feeling from this new one, even after all these years. From Indy's whip lashing in the begining, to his fear of snakes playing a part in a scene, to his arguring with Marion - it all felt familiar, in a very good way. The only things I really didn't like were the uselessness of the character Ox, and the wild ending scene that was a bit too unbelieveable. Still, this is far better than the starwars prequels, and proof that they can make a decent sequel after 20 years.
  10. Hey, if you don't like them, fine, but it's a free country. Besides, Megabloks has a right to exist. Read up - you'll see that TLC could have easily renewed their patenent on the classic brick design, but they chose not to, for some odd reason. Thus, it ain't Megabloks's fault.
  11. Actually, while that may have been true 10 years ago, Megablok's quality has been improving. I would know, because I've owned megabloks both from the 90's and from the 21 century, and there's been improvement between those time periods.
  12. I must completely disagree with that. Firstly, I don't see what's wrong with the claw hands. Sure, they're claws, but it's far better than what we got on the 2005 titans, and better than titans like Maxilos and Brutaka - because the hands are actually real hands, not just Piraka feet used as hands. Also, I dunno if I'm seeing him differently, but he doesn't look thin at all. In fact, he looks rather beefy, especially on his legs and shoulders. The legs - yeah, I understand why you don't like them, but they don't actually look too bad. The legs still look armored, and it wouldn't be hard to fix if you really hate it. More importantly, however, I really like Takanuva because he's actually almost unique among the kits this year - he shows real uniqueness and innovation. Things like the Takadox heads used as armor, and the neat body construction make him a lot more interesting than other titans this year like Mutran and Vican, and Icarax. He may not be perfect, but he's still cool IMO.
  13. Well, honestly, there isn't really any piece I can think of. TLC uses such a wide variety of pieces in their sets, and even commonly used molds are not tiring, as they are made in a ton of colors. For some reason, I really can't see whats so appealing about stud technic beams. Honestly, I think using them makes technic kits far more blocky and ugly looking than the newer kits. I perfectly understand using them and studless technic beams together, like in the recent bulldozer, but not using them and them only.
  14. Er, what do you mean by this? Because you build bionicle figures constantly. And honestly, I don't see whats so ugly about many of TLC's designs, especially the new Takanuva.
  15. Cool, another theme month! BTW, did Brick Miner make the new background and style, or did somebody else? Because it looks awesome!
  16. Well, yesterday I got Bionicle Mutran and Vican. Totally average Bionicle build, but has some good parts and is cheaper than getting a canister set and matoran separately. And then today, I got Exo-force Chameleon Hunter with the money I earned from mowing. Really nice exo-force set, and a fine example of how good the final year of Exo-force is.
  17. Happy birthday! Hope you get lots of lego - or would you rather have a pet walrus?
  18. That's really good! A lot of detail and a nice basic shape = great MOC. See, just because they're clone bricks doesn't mean you can't build cool stuff out of them.
  19. Well, looks like I was wrong on this kit. Great review, Deino - looks like you changed my mind. I think the main problem with the batbike is that it's just too darn wide - because from the side it looks fine. I bet a bit of modding would easily fix that problem. And the hammer truck actually looks good now - when I first saw the pictures, I thought there wasn't actually a drivers seat. So I'm glad I was wrong on that. Plus, those stickers are just awesome. Hm, I think this set may have just jumped to Grevious's mega list of things that he wants but may not get.
  20. Wonderful review - one of the best I've ever seen on this site. Man, we thought this might be the weakest set in the line, but it turns out it may be the strongest! Everything about this set - from the color scheme to all the details to the minifigures to the piece selection - is just wonderful! I think this set has finally confirmed it: Agents is everything Alpha Team wasn't, and is how they should have done a spy theme from the start. Kudos to TLC for finally getting it right - and I sure hope there's a second year!
  21. Incredibly.... disgusting. Man, looks like you really captured the scene well, even though I haven't actually seen the movie yet. My younger brother did though, and he said it looked good. Only.... how did you get all those ants? There must be over 50 of them there!
  22. Very nice vig - I knew something like this would be done eventually. Only, I think Dr Killory isn't quite right. Oh well. Take that back! Johnny's done everything that Indy's done - he's gone through ancient temples, battled bad guys, encountered scary creatures, and recovered lost treasure. Okay, so he HASN'T reawakened aliens, but don't use that as your reason for dissing Johnny.
  23. Here's links to a ton of Coast Guard topics and reviews that should be added to the index. Coast Guard Sets at TRU - topic by Lord Santos Brickbitz's reviews of 7738, 7729, and 7739 High quality pictures from Maximono 7726 Review by Metalandi 7736 Review by Cardinal Brick 7738 Review by 5150 Lego I'm sure there's more, but I think I got most of them. Later I'll see if I can make an Agents index or something along those lines.
  24. Yeah, including some police cars from the very same time period, using similar parts. This set just doesn't cut it, ten years ago or today.
  25. Tyranide posted a downloadable version on the last page. If you have Adobe Reader, then just download that.
