  1. I'd disagree with that as well. I've noticed major differences in the three main air toa - Matau sounds really immature in all of his dialogue, while Kongu actually seems the most serious and mature Air toa of them all. Lewa's kinda in between, but all of them are different. And how exactly is the treespeak mutilated? I'm serious - what exactly makes it mutilated for you? Yes, especially considering that two of the three quotes he posted are from 2003, not the later years. This kinda makes me wonder if Ecto has even read the books - because if he's just reading the comics, he won't have any idea what the books are like. There is a LOT of description and serious dialogue in the Legends series - and all the "annoying" lines in the comics are spaced out. Okay Pencoin, you seriously need to realize how much info Greg has swirling around in his head. He himself has said that sometimes he makes mistakes because he has a ton of stuff on his mind. Case in point: Greg said at one point that Krakua was an OOMN member, but later he said that he had made a mistake. He even gave BZP an exclusive preview of Bionicle Legends 11 because of that. He probably doesn't remember what you are refering too, because you were the only one who thought he made a mistake. The Krakua incident was resolved because a ton of people questioned him about it. Again, I know that it would seem that way if you only read the comics, but the books are a LOT better, because there's not just dialogue but description. And there's also a lot of different dialogue that's more serious.
  2. Thank you for telling us about the review. I think that the rule in general is that starwars sets do not have good interiors usually - which is one of the reasons why Snefroe sticks with space.
  3. Noooo... why can't this be released in stores?! This is like the ultimate battlepack! Man, this set really shows how limited the figure amounts are in the regular sets. I am not happy.
  4. You've over-generalized beyond the point of anyone taking your comment seriously. I'm not trying to insult you, but honestly, that was a really weak argument IMO. So basically having no gears means that Bionicle is lame? Come on guys - either explain why you think this stuff or at least say its your opinion. Stating personal opinions as fact is rude.
  5. I couldn't disagree more. Personally, I love all the Bionicle Adventure and Legend books. They have a great mix of action, dialogue, characters, and even some mystery. The MNOG on the other hand was mostly just the "asking questions and getting answers" variety, without much personality. Except for the cutscenes, which I agree were AWESOME. We give him a lot of credit because he basically writes all the bionicle books and comics (which is a big job), plus he willingly answers all our questions on BZP - which amounts to hundreds a day. I'd like to see you try to do that.
  6. Wonderful review, 5150. Man, your girlfriend sure is generous! This set might possibly be the BEST creator set EVER. Everything about it is just wonderful - the color scheme, the design, the detail work, the scale - even tha alternate models! I'm just in love with this set, and I'm amazed that TLC actually made something like this.
  7. Actually, the comment about "Bionicle going back to it's roots" was made by Greg F himself. He said that you can expect "the sense of mystery from coming to a new place for the first time," much like Bionicle first was back in 2001. He also said that it's gonna be different, so be prepared.
  8. Oh yeah, known that for a LOOOONG time. That's why in the Tie Army Topic that used to be here, I wasn't the general but just someone using that as a codename.
  9. Ah man, not temple of doom sets! Oh well, at least they'll be more fun than the movie. Well, looks like we'll probably be getting the clone battlepack everyone wanted, as well as the AAT. But, what the hey? Two new tiefighters? NOT AGAIN!
  10. Happy birthday! Hope you got lots of legoey goodness.
  11. Late as usual. Ah well, happy birthday.
  12. Thanks for all those wonderful pictures. I have to say that Oxford is potentially the best clone brand out there - the quality looks extremely high, and there's a lot of cool pieces like the pointed slopes and brick walls. And that sword strap acessory is just wonderful - TLC should have made one of those long ago.
  13. Yes. Honestly, why are people making such a big fuss about having a few black minifigs in your town or not? This is a kids toy, for crying out loud! No need to turn it into such a heavy issue. I also don't see why people think that TLC made a big mistake by introducing black minifigs with the Cloud City. They did it because making a yellow Lando would just be silly:
  14. Don't have a clue, seeing as I'm from the USA.
  15. While this set would get just a two in modern times, for 1979 this is a wonderful kit. There's lots of detail like the top door, the numbers over the garages, and other neat little things. Plus, the vehicles are actually not that bad at all, and back then they would be state of the art lego. It gets a 5 from me!
  16. Wonderful review. I'd die if I had to upload that many pictures... Man, this is it: the pinacle of Mars Mission's second and final year. Man, this baby is flawless. There are so many indications that the designers took care in designing this kit - like the space for the pilot's backpack, the compartment for the mini flier, the sturdy leg design - etc etc etc. Kudos to TLC for making Mars Mission go out with a bang. I have high hopes that whereever the space theme goes next year, TLC will make it worth the wait.

Awesome creation. You've used a lot of interesting techniques - and the body is just awesome.
  18. Seconded. Not only is she ugly and generic, but she doesn't even have many good parts at all. Even the awful hordika are better, IMO, because they at least have a lot of interesting parts (feet, chest armor, two of the new limb parts, and some of the heads and weapons). Honestly, all I see on Gali that's interesting is those shoulder armor pieces. Oh well, this just means that she'll need some seriously heavy modding when I get her.
  19. Thank you for the awesome review. Honestly, while Bitil may not be nearly as original as Krika or Gorast, he's still really cool. Plus, he's easily the best parts pack of the summer - because while Krika has some really unique parts, Bitil is a lot better for good all around building - with plenty of good parts like claws, armor, and some awesome yellow parts.
  20. Great review. I'm supprised that no one replied to this yet. Man, this was an awesome kit for its time. The vehicles are all great - the police bike is simply genius, and the helicopter and car are well designed too. The police station also looks great. One request: could you take a picture of the interior of the second floor? Thanks.
  21. Great review, Brickster. This was a great set for its time. You have everything you'd need in a construction accessory pack: a vehicle, tools, and minifigs. The vehicle isn't the best, IMO, but it looks like that even kids back then could easily mod it with a few extra parts.
  22. Another great review, Whitefang. This is a wonderful 80's vehicle - and I think it might be one of the first - if not THE first - that had the spring suspension system. I know of at least one other set that had that: the biggest Extreme Team set from 1998 had a vehicle with those pieces. Firstly, Speed Racer cars are out of scale even with City vehicles. Also, I have hope that in the next few years we will get more Octan sets to go with the wonderful gas station - and I suspect that a 6-wide tow truck will be at the top of the list. It wouldn't be a hard set to make, and I bet it would sell well.
  23. Another great review from the Brickster. Man, this is a really ovely set. It has everything you could want in lego house set back in the 70's. I also love that it can swing open and close - that way you can have more than one display option AND add easy acessibility for kids. Keep in mind that this set was made in 1979, Holodoc. For its time this was a wonderful set, and I don't think the color scheme is that bad, personally. Yes, I know that the creator house you posted is a ton better, but it was also made nearly 30 years after this set. Can't you give it a little leeway?
  24. Great review. I like this set, even though it is a little simple. Despite the flames, I think that the shuttle actually is a training sim, as others pointed out. Overall, it's pretty nice, and I'd love to see a modern version of this in the city line - along with other realistic space sets.
  25. Great review, Fang. Honestly, while I like a lot of classic sets, this one just doesn't jump out at me that much. I really don't like that the figure has no printed torso - they had those years before 1986. I gave it a 3 - but that doesn't mean I don't like this set at all. It's a classic for sure, and I'm sure tons of kids begged their moms to get this back in the 80's - and for good reason.
