  1. Well, I wasn't planning to start my farm display until the official farm sets come out next year, but a couple recent purchases drove me to start working on it early. So, here is version one of Uncle Grevious's Farm. Okay, so that's not how farmers really harvest grain these days, but that will change once I get the 2009 combine harvester. The final grain field will be twice as big, and I'll be modifiying the big farm set with some tan bricks I got at a lego store. The farm house will stay exactly as it is. Comments and questions are appreciated, as always!
  2. It's awesome because we don't get nearly enough of sand green, so having a whole theme based on that color is wonderful. Besides, even if you don't like it now, you might like it better after we get higher quality pictures - the only ones we have right now are blurry and hard to make out in spots.
  3. ... Okay, this is really a supprise to me. Power Miners looks NOTHING like Rock Raiders, PERIOD. But, it still looks really cool - a lot of neat vehicles and an AWESOME color scheme. I only wish there was a base as well.
  4. Man, Tuma is quickly looking to be one of the worst titans ever. He's just a poorly executed cookie cutter design with a lot of weapons slapped on.
  5. Well, last weekend my family got to spend a couple days at a beachhouse in Massachusets, and on the way home we visited the huge mall in Natic - where I finally got to visit a lego store! I used the opportunity to buy a large Pick A Brick crammed full with stuff for my town and upcoming farm display, as well as the 2005 street sweeper kit. All in all, a wonderful way to end my vacation.
  6. Well, according to wikipedia, "ABS is derived from acrylonitrile, butadiene, and styrene." I dunno if those are all different kind of plastics, but you may be onto something.
  7. I didn't say that I was either - it's just that it's really ironic and almost scary that the guy in charge of the colors at TLC doesn't know about that color. I'm only 15, but that guy is an adult and making big decisions that affect lego as a whole - which is what gets on my nerves. Actually, I've NEVER complained about TLC's supposed color problems. I haven't even made a big deal about the grey change at all. This is different, however - we still have a form of grey, but now we will never have any sort of purple color in lego again.
  8. So, purple is being permanently discontinued thanks to a decision made by a guy that doesn't even know what Teal is? Seriously, if you haven't even heard of that color, than you obviously aren't qualified to make color decisions for a construction toy company - or any toy company for that matter.
  9. Happy birthday Jinzo!
  10. Well, since I'm going to be making a low budget farm display next year, I'm planning to use a ton of yellow 1x1 bricks stacked in columns of four to simulate wheat. I know it doesn't look as good as some of these other methods, but it's very cheap and you don't have to modify any pieces. For tomatoes, I bet using 1x1 round red plates on top of small green plates will work pretty good. Squash could be done the same way, only with yellow plates.
  11. Thanks for the comments guys! I'm glad everyone liked this as well - I'm really having a lot of fun with the LDD.
  12. Wrong. What it shows is how confining TLC has made the Bionicle comics these days. Compare the comic writing style to the book writing style, and you'll see a big difference: the former is rapid and emotionless, while the latter takes time to describe everything. I believe this is because TLC is now trying to aim the comics at the even younger fans who don't care about reading the books - hence the extremely abreviated and sloppy style. Greg can describe a battle easily - just listen to Dark Mirror part 9 - which has to be one of the most violent battles ever in Bionicle.
  13. *looks at tauntaun* ...AWESOME DUDE! *looks at price tag* ....NO WAY DUDE! I think I'll have to wait along with almost everyone else for TLC to produce Tauntans of their own - even if it takes another decade. IT BETTER NOT, though.
  14. Well, they said in the article that they're aiming for a 20 minute cartoon - which comes out to 30 minutes with the commercials added.
  15. Lego Batman cartoon spin-off being made! This was really out of the blue - but I'm actually liking the sound of it. Hope this turns out well!
  16. TLC really needs to make a post office to go with their new CITY postal vehicles - but until then, I decided to make one of my own in LDD. Comments are appreciated, as always.
  17. This is absolutely stunning! The incredible detail makes it look so impressive - and you've found unusual uses for some really weird pieces! Man, just wonderful.
  18. What the hey? Where did this theme come from? Okay, this one is really unexpected for me. I'm not even quite ready to believe it yet! However, this line seems to make sense, for some reason. When I first saw all the leaked pictures, I really felt like something was missing - like there wasn't enough January themes. This line seems to fit the empty gap, and I bet that it was kept secret by TLC for some reason. Whatever the case, this sounds promising, and a new Rockraiders theme sits well with me. BTW, for those who are thinking that Space may not come this year, don't give up all hope. Remember that TLC said that there will be TWO new lines this year. One would now think that that means Pirates and Power Miners - but remember that Pirates technically isn't new at all. The last pirate themed line was less than three years ago, with the Duplo pirates. So, we still may get a new space theme next year.
  19. Well, today I made my first Bricklink order in several years. Since I plan to buy all the Farm sets next year, I've been getting ready to make a display with them that also features some other things like a field of grain. The order I made today mainly consisted of over 240 yellow 1x1 bricks that I'll be using to represent the stalks of grain. Plus, I ordered a few extra goodies for my town, and even a couple Bionicle Krana. And best of all - I got all of this for less than 3 dollars (not including shipping). It's really funny though, because the order was made from a store that had all its items on sale for 24 hours only. Weird how that worked out, but I don't care - because 1X1 bricks for half a cent each rocks! I though I was going to have to pay at least a cent for each.
  20. Happy birthday! Hope you get lots of the wonderful bricks called lego!
  21. Another great interview - but hey, snefroe's your job for you, EB News! If you want to stay in buisness, you have to give us all the juicy details right away instead of letting an outsider reveal them! Heh, I didn't really get what happened at the end though. Did Staudie teleport away, shrink, or just disintegrate? Wait, the last can't be true - otherwise how is Staudie posting this interview in the first place? What is this conspiracy?!

    City '09?

I think he was probably joking. There was a tounge smiley right after the word "rumored," after all.
  23. Nope - that theory has been disproved long ago, as Greg gave confirmination that the Red Star is NOT the 2009 location. Anyway, something really came on my mind the last few days. I know how a lot of people are really upset about the current storyline - and I can understand that somewhat. However, I don't see why people call it absolutely AWFUL, because IMO, it's far better than the current storyline in some modern comics. I mean, just imagine if Bionicle was written by the guys who are doing the current Batman crapics: Onua: Woah, wasn't that awesome Tahu? I just blew the head off that Makuta! Tahu: Who the h**l do you think I am? I'm the G*d-d**m Tahu! Gali: Um, what exactly am I wearing? I didn't know bionicles needed underwear... *Bitil crushes Gali under his foot* Bitil: Hahahah! Whoops, looks like I got some Toa guts on my foot. Onua: NO! Gali! Tahu: Ah, go eat some stone rats, Onua. Okay, exaggeration, but you get my drift.
  24. Well, I can see that you're very honest about this, and I appreciate that. Truthfully though, I wouldn't say that lego is nearly as usless to society as you may think. While many hobbies like buying expensive cars and spending tons of money and time on computer games really are only for enjoyment, lego actually influences creativity, originality, and other good qualities by challenging you to build better creations. That's one of the reasons why I'd say that lego is a better hobby for both kids and adults than tons of electronic gizmos - and the same creativity you use when building stuff with legos can also be applied to far more important things, like inventing worthwhile things for the good of civilization. Regardless, if you really feel upset about it, there are ways to directly help people with lego too. There's a lot of poor families with dads or mons in jail, serving in the military, or even worse. I bet a lot of kids in that situation would appreciate if someone donated some lego to them for chirstmas or birthdays, or just on the occasion. In that way, you can bring the same joy you get from building with legos to families that can't afford it - which I'd say is a noble cause.
