What a great topic! This this the kind of topic I really like! I like to see the evolution in the time of things that we build: more specifi pieces, more colours, more technics and design... I like the two pics of your actual city. What an awfull mess of LEGO! It's so nice *wub* I wish you a lot of fun in your city project, and I knwo that you will have! Nice buildings on!

What a really nice truck! *y* It reminds me of the old model team sets, but with a perfect control of the studless technic (like with your white truck in your BL gallery). It looks a lot to the 4955 creator truck too. Really great job yoderevolution!

Thanks Hinckley and Colonel Sanders for those new pics. The car with the jetsky is really nice! A small litlle set! But I don't think that there are suspention on it... And for the baseplate from the lighthouse, I'm like you BrickMiner, "i hate the reduction of studs, or in the case of the new CG baseplate, no studs at all !!! it makes it seem vey unLEGO-like". This piece really looks like a Megab**** one. It's like TLC has copied it, for once! Now, we need to see some real pics... This time will come...

5978 Sphinx Secret Surprise Review
alex54 replied to alex54's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
What an old topic! I have forgotten that I've made a review from this set! *wacko* Thanks for you comments guys! (I will try to make more review from my old sets, just need time for that...) Well, I've never heard the name Sam Grant... You're right, it's a scala cup (which I ahd in a scala part packs, when TLC sold them in their extra catalogue...) Good sens of observation *y* ... But your memory *n* :-D All the accessories are originals. I didn't know that, a nice funny touch from TLC! -
What a great advent calendar! I need it! Those new minifgs are really nice! They look a lot like the heroes in the Legoland Castle 3D movie!
-
Those new impulse sets are good evenif there are those crappy missles! For the knight soldier the catapult don't bother me because of the pan, always usefull for a city fan :-D
-
Those new CG sets look vey good! I like the new boat, with all the details. And adding extra element like the lighthouse is a very brillant idea! This line looks promising (if you don't look the problem of size of the 4x4). The little set is nice too, simple but good. I can't wait to have some new sets!

I've got some pressure now 8-|, I can't failed :-D

Yestreday, I've bought my first ExoForce set, the Claw Crusher 8101. Don't worry, I don't become an EF fan, ,I just wanted a robot, and it was the smaller set that have one and which is still avalaible. :-D

Nice new impulse sets. I'm a bit disapointed by the kayak, because I have imagined it in a bigger set, not as impulse... However, it looks nice. And for the coast guard set, well... Yes it's great, it has some nice details, it seems to have nice playability (the motors seem to swivel together; suspension for the truck), the color scheme is very nice for Coast Guard, but... It is oversized! it's so big! The boat seems to have the good size, but the truck looks like a playmobile set because of its size! I will buy it, for sure, and downsize it too! Oh, and thanks for the pics steff!

Sorry to be late replying in this tread (I've got some trouble with Internet... >:-( ) Captain K, your moc is really nice! I like the simplicity of the design, and the nice details and extra like the small "engine hall", the fisherman, and the pipe. It's full of life, just with few minifigs. great work! *y* I have nefer seen wood watertower in my life, but it looks like the ones that we can see in the US movies and cartoon X-D

Thank you for the review Sandra! This set looks finally nice, better than my first view. I really need it, I've already planed to integrate it to my new layout... It will be hard to wait for it!

TLG sentenced by French Competition Council
alex54 replied to xwingyoda's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't think so! On the contrary, they can put hight prices! I heard about this story at the tv news. They said that TLC has fixed the prices of their products, and if a retailer didn't follow them, they won't allow them to sell their products. So why do I always see LEGO in my supermarket with the smaller prices? I have gone to other supermarkets from the same group, and the prices were more expensive... Dunno, maybe a local exeption, a very good exeption! Anyway, since 2005, the prices were the same, there are no changes. -
Thanks for this review *yoda* ! This set is really great! I will buy it for sure (maybe two, I have discovered the joy of buying multi sets). Everythings looks goos in this set, the colours are nice, there are a lot of accessories with those palets, nice new parts. The truck looks better here than in the first pic. And I'm happy with it, because I don't like the new police line. So, finally I will have some january city sets to buy *sweet* And that forklift *wub* It's like the new Indy car and truck, it seems that the designers had a lot of pleasure to build them! Can't wait to see those new sets on shelves (not untill february, like each years...)

No instruction to share. But it's not a difficult MOC to build. Just look the pics carefully and you can build your own train wash. And the "washing thingy" move back into their initial position after the train has gone throught. It's due to the roof slope pieces. Yes, it's only 1000$ :-D and without the shipping cost, of course! And thanks for all the feedbacks, which are always welcome! Well, it's hard to have some good sunlights (the sun is playing with the clouds for months, or it's out during the working hours... *wacko* ). The digital background has some bad points that I will try to put out (if I have the time...), like the wite under the brushes...
-
Well, they are not that big, but yes, they look bad. I mean, they look really cheap on the pics... I will see them in real when I will buy this set.

Thanks for the pics! I need this set! I want one for the main house (just few modification, and it's a perfect house for my layout), and one or two for the pieces. The new small windows look promising. I need a lot of them! But there are just two of them in it... Hope to see them in the next Factory selection... Just need to have better trees in those creator sets! But cedar trees are not necessary now that I've received two of them in my mailbox *wub* :-$

After building house and houses for my new city, I decided to have a break and build something else. I bought the new Octan station, and decided to break down my Shell car wash which has become useless now (with the new Octan station). So I've got extra blue washing parts and decided to use them in a moc. And I remembered of an "old" set that TLC has made in 1999: But looking at it closely, it looks poor. So I decided to build my own verion of this set. And the result is: I'm glad because I have used a lot of big pieces, like the black posts, which take a lot of place in my lego storage boxes :-D The worker put on the washing system: The washing rollers have a water system integrated to clean the wagons: There are two big propellers to dry the cleaned but weted wagons: The washing installation can clean the biggest wagon, like the Octan wagon: And I have made my trains run at full speed to test the resistance of the installation: it's sturdy enought! *y* The full BS Gallery (after moderation)

Hardship of Destroying Old Mocs for New?
alex54 replied to Brickmaster's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Really? This is exactly what I do! I've an idea of a moc, and I try to build it with my pieces which are everywhere in my room. I prefer to build in real too. The virtual building experience is not for me. I like the idea of not having all the pieces I need, it gives me more constraints, which is good for imagination. Anyway. It's hard for me to destroy my old mocs, but I do it. For my town, after spending hours and hours building a new layout and taking pictures, I store it. And few months later, I decided to improve it. I have tried to just improve my old buildings, but the result is not really good. So it's hard for me, but like a storm, I destroy everything. And I restart building from nothing. And the result is better each time. Building/destroying gives you more experiment in construction I think. -
B-V-1D Well, here my entry : As a fish, I lived in an aquarium. During my childhood, I was fished by a fisherman who put me in his aquarium. :'-( But I know that one day, I will swim in a lake :'-) , meet some friends and speak french to a walrus... That sounds like a great life! More pics here :

Review: 7622 Indiana Jones - Race For the Stolen Treasure
alex54 replied to Doctor Sinister's topic in LEGO Licensed
What an amazing set! I really like it! Everything looks great! The vehicles are so nice, and this gold chest *wub* The more I look those Indy pics, the more I like those sets... I will resist to buy this line, I will resist, I will... not. Oh well, I'm too weak! :-D -
Nice to see another member's layout! Great mix between official sets and mocs.
