Here some close-up pics of the Russian soldiers and the General : And I know that you have seen that I don't have put the stickers on...
-
Thanks to share those pics with us Svelt Corps! It's really interesting to see a bigger version of those modular set! And I can't agree more about the fact that TLC has to sold the middle floor in some add-on sets! I don't like the mirror version, it's too symetric. Just a change of the colour scheme will make it better IMO...

SalvoBrick, I like the way you build your own versions of sets and/or part of sets, like that nice forklift! Your own building piece is very well done, great work! The power distribution station is really nice too, with nice details for the outdoor part of the machine. It's always a pleasur to see your work, and that give some nice idea!

Set ref: 7626 Name: Jungle Cutter Number of minifigs: 4 Number of pieces: unknown Price: 39,99€ A general view of the set: We’ve got 5 giant ants, two Russian soldiers, a General, Indy of course, 3 trees, a small entrance of a cave, and the debroussaillor vehicle (I don’t know the English name of it…). You can’t enter into the cave, because there is a spider web with its spider…Unless… Unless you know how the mechanism works and the spider web go up… And reveals a case with diamonds and accessories. A closer view on the mechanism (which is simple but works well), and you can also see the difference, or maybe the same, size of a spider and a giant ant! And I’ve always thought that those spiders were very big compared to the minifigs! So those ants are really giant! Poor small frog! The three trees with the entrance make a nice jungle layout! Don’t speak too loud, you will wake up the soldier… Don’t worry for him, he will be waken up by the vehicle before being eaten by those giant ants! A front view, making the vehicle really menacing! A back view: Push the red part from the back and there are two parts that fall down from the vehicle. I don’t know why… The movie will clarify this I think… And here you can see how the two big circular blades turn when you push the vehicle… Simple but effective! Run Indy, run! This set is really nice. The playability of the different elements is great, the colour scheme is nice too (I like those dark green tree parts!). The vehicle is really impressive without being too big and its very well details! In general the designers of the Indy sets have made a really nice works, with a lot of efforts in all those details everywhere! I’ve got some project for this set, to integrate it in my city... I’m a city mocer, and not an Indy fan. So I don’t have bought the temple, the bigger set of the series, because it has nothing special for me in term of part selections or in the design, in relation with the town theme, and because my supermarket doesn’t have it yet! So, we are waiting for a member to review it and make the part 4…

Set ref: 7625 Name: River Chase Number of minifigs: 4 Number of pieces: unknown Price: 22,90€ A general view of the set: We’ve got an amphibious vehicle, a small boat, an observation post and a dark green croco (so beautiful! ). For the figs, we’ve got Indy of course, Marion and two Russian soldiers, nothing special here. In the back of the tree, there is a box, to put some things: The amphibious vehicle is very nice! The proportions are really great (not too big, not too small) and there are a lot of details everywhere, like the propeller: A back view: An inside view: The small boat is a dark grey Zodiac, but the details are nice too, giving it a retro look, in the same way of all the Indy vehicles: The outpost has a net to permit to the bad guys to capture some nice guys and girls… But it seems that the girl Marion is scared of the nice croco! So Indy comes and help her pushing the Technic axle with this round inversed tiles, which push out the net and capture the croco. Now Marion feels happier! And she takes a can of oil and whacks the poor croco, without defences! Who has said Marion is a nice girl? So, I’ve bought this set like an add on to my city. In fact, the elements of this set can easily be integrated in a town layout. I plan to use the outpost for my forest section, and the amphibious vehicle is always a nice touch of originality in a layout. Yes you can use all those military things without creating an army in a layout: just put the violent parts out, and you’ve got nice things, like a biologist car in the case of the amphibious vehicle!

Set ref: 7624 Name: Jungle Duel Number of minifigs: 3 Number of pieces: 78 Price: 11,90€ It’s the smaller set from the last Indy movie, “the kingdom of the crystal skull”. Here we go! A general view of the set: We have a tent, some food ( a chicken leg is always welcome!), a fireplace, the things with all the swords, a bench with a broken table, 3 ants, a map (printed tile) and other accessories. Don’t make that girl hungry or... YYYYAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! Ho no! Our diner, a giant ant, has gone away! Those giant ants are made in a smooth plastic, in dark red and trans black colour: And here a closer view on the two new hairpieces: The new girl hairpiece is really cute, and I’m a bit disappointed by the new man hairpiece…Those hair lake some volume… But I’m really happy to see that TLC has made some new moulds for hairpieces! It’s the good part of the theatre lines! So, it’s a really interesting set because you’ve got a lot of useful pieces for a city Mocers, with the two new hairpieces without spending a lot of money!

Joyeux anniversaire le roi du lancer de javelot!

I've got the same new piece in grey in my rocket spongebob set. I have taken pictures to share, but I don't have the time in this moment... So thanks to have done it KimT! X-D But in my dwarves' mine, there were the "old" version of this piece... And there is a technic axle hole in the center of the 2x2 section of the brick. The new version is better for playability, but in terme of design, I like the older version...

Another nice city! A nice and impressive firestation, an add-on to the classic LEGO restorant, some nice vehicules and cars 'and 4wide ones). you need a lot of space to put your layout!
-
You've got a nice layout Klaus-Dieter! And like Phoinix said, your town is really clean! If you want, I have a lot of sets to clean... X-D Seriously! You've got a great collection of great sets from the 80's/90's, it's a real pleasure to see them in a same layout. :'-) It reminds me of the old LEGO catalogue... And the new town plane feet very well in your city. Maybe using some grey basepalte instead of dark grey one will be better... And maybe a green baseplae in the center of your town, for the funtain square... There are just minor things that can be improve easily, from my point of view, of course! ;-)

Nice moc! I never ever try the micro scale. It seems too hard for me... But you have captured the things very well! I like your construction site a lot! (even if the direct link to your gallery don't work well...). Good job for your cement mixer, vey well done! *y*

I really like the feeling of your module. It's not so common to see houses near the sea. The seaside town aspect is really interesting and well done. My favourite house is your brown cottage. I like the fact that there is a small "forest", it gives your module a nice adventurers of nature look. Now we want to see the next pictures with your bigger module!

Congratulation to the winners, to all the participants and to the people who had made this poll!

You've got a nice layout Osakana! I like the way you have used some "lego pieces" like the can or the xpod box trans part! Very ingenious! It seems that you have everything that a layout needs : trains, monorails, a port section, and some houses. I like the fact that you have made some part of your layout on an other level than the road (with the use of the dark rey baseplate) *y* And I have one question about your layout map :where did you have find the coast guard baseplate for track designer?
-
:-D Me too! I'm like Hinckley for all the things he has said (thanks Hinckley, so I don't have to write it!). And I have to admit that your six wide cars are really nice, even if I'm a 4 wide car defenser! And for the ebony keys of your piano, the old hinge pieces are a lot better IMO.
-
Hihihi >:-) I've bought mine in Legoland Germany! I have bought the last box of this set when I went to the park the first day of the new season.

I voted for : ricecracker, iamded and jayber1974. Their impulse mocs look like real impulse sets with a good ratio number of pieces / size of pieces, wich I think is really strict for the official designers of the impulse serie. And the pieces that are used are great for me. For the license serie, my second choice would have been Lego-Freak, because I'm a very big fan of sponge bob... And thanks for all the participants of this contest!

I was a little afraid by this modification, but it seems that TLC has made a not so bad job... I will waiting for seeing the final result to have a final jugement... 2009 seems so far...
-
No you can't do this with the LEGO Light and Sound system. The bricks with light are too big to have the same result than Lluis (wich is really "thin"). And you have to use some electrical plates to supply the light with electricity. Well, maybe I will buy some multi boxes of small sets like the Police car, it's the cheaper way to have a lot of cars to experiment the light system. But I don't think that I'm ready to test it now, I have some works with my layout without thinking how to integrate the power function in it. So, I'm waiting to see how you will do this! ;-)
-
Great work luisgib! The leds have the right size to be integrated in lego model! the result is very nice! And we don't see anything, exept for the link to the power source. But I think that you have plan to hide it in your layout... And even if the result for the cars is really great, I will not do this to my car, because I don't want to make holes in my pieces. But I like the extra feeling that the light brings... Now, I'm curious to see your layout with all the lights everywhere!

I'm so happy! I have bought the last box of GG at LEGOLAND Deutchland! It takes me some houres to build it, what a pleasure! :'-) And finally, my previous jugement was real after the building : Yet GG is a great building, with a nice look. The only small complainis about how the top frames of the windows of the firts floor are done, they are a little too blocky for me. It's a very small details of course! But GG doesn't bcome with some so special building technics. Hoppefully we have those interior details, which look better in real! Can't wait to see what the third building will be... And now, I have to work on a smaller version of this GG...

So here my entry : Theme : Post Name : The Postman Pieces : 10 Nothing special to add!

I really like the new banners. Maybe the EB logo from the main banner is not really visible because of the pirate fig above... Ho, those pirates :-D ! Maybe the small light aroud it would have resolve this minor issue. It's simple but very effective. And finally we have a theater banner! And with spongebob in it! (I remember some converstation with Brickminer about the spongebob fig...) And for all the disagrements, it's due to our habbits. Members just need some times to feel like at home. And after 2 months, the new version will appear clear. And nobody will like to come back to the older version. For me, there are no big problem with this version. Congrat to the staff team *y*

Wow! It's really pleasant to see our first version of a moc, and to compare it with ameliorated version. So you can realise the work and progress that you have done. And you can imagine the next level that you will have with some other hours of work on it. This is why I love LEGO so much: you can always improve your moc with new bricks and new idea. Now, back on your layout. Your builings look so much better now! They look stronger and lighter: they look better built. The details that you have put in the "top roofs"are really nice! Maybe some sand red buildings will go well with your black and red houses. But I know that it's a really rare color... Thanks to share this with us!

Thanks for this great review Dunamis! Like everyone, I like this GG so much! The level of details is really impressive. I don't have this set yet (I will buy it for sure, like I've done with the two others CC and MS), but looking at the building instructions and the pictures, I don't think that this set will learn me as many things as CC has. I mean CC showed me some new tehchniques that I didn't know, it learnes me to try using the bricks in different ways to make some things that you cannot do just in puting bricks on bricks. And yes GG is a nice building very well done, but the use of hinges for the baiewindow is a technique that I have used after building CC in one of my moc. But GG brings us some ingenious idea for making nice furnitures, and it's a very good thing. With CC, I have learned about structure and architecture in LEGO, and with GG, I hope that I will find inspirations for m interiores. I will let you know my final jugement after building this baby... Is it me or in the picture will the 3 models, CC looks a litle small? A CC with an aditional floor would have shown it with better proportion, in comparison with the two other. I know, I'm very hard with TLC now that I know that they can bring us some fantastic sets. Being very demanding with someone, is the best way to have the best of him... I think... So, welcome to the best LEGO theme! :-D
