Pizza to go! I remember the first time I saw this set in the LEGO catalog. I really wanted it, but it was very expensive for such a little set. One of my friend had promised me to offer me this set for my birthday. But she didn't. Instead, she came with the street sweeper. So I decides to buy it 2 years after the release year, just before that we couldn't find it in stores... It's really a great set IMO : noce figs (with a girl!), nice details (nice tap), great playability (van, pizza) and a very nice design. The proportion of this building is very great for a small pizzeria. The only minor bad point is that there are no vegetation...

Wow! This is the power of LEGO and imagination! julencin2000, you have used the 4954 set in a very good way! Do the rails come from your box too? If yes, you're really lucky!
-
I know. I didn't want to make an impulse set, I just wanted to keep the idea and build it in a "better" way, without limitation of pieces.
-
It's really "Chuck" in the design : great overall look with great details, and some nice snot techniques. I especially like how you made the rotor section, with the rotor motor (the part that connect the rotor to the copter, I don't know the write world, even in French, so...)

I wish you a very nice B'day Mr. Walrus!

Ralph_S, your two mocs are really great! I really like the feeling that come from this peice of street, it's really charming! And like Asuka said, the size and proportion of the two houses are really good! And all those nice details inside, ! Do you have more buildings to share?

I have to confess that I don't like so much the LDD moc. Not that they can't look beautifull, but the digital design of those mocs take away the style of the bricks... So, seeing your LDD version and the real brickbuilt one is very good, Grimer! It appears more, dunno... real and charming. And contrary to DJ Force, I like the fact that it's 6-wide, it gives your bus a very good proportion IMO.

Thanks for the pic of your clock WhiteHexagon! Now we can see it properly. Using those Technic parts for the needles is not a bad idea...

Thanks, it's exactly what I wanted! Thanks a lot! I really want to make it beautifull, because it's the kind of houses that you find where I leave. My "HP moc" is not an HP one! It's not a castle, it's an old prison, it's the Craft Door. Here a pic of the real thing : As you can see, it stands around regular town houses. So for me it's not so strange... I've made the arch bigger to permit some cars to pass through it, like in real. But the proportion are not exactly the same, it's the way we have to go with the LEGO bricks! If this moc seems not to be seen at its place from Eurobrickers point of view, it doesn't shock the few people who has seen it in my room... It's because they know it in real too! It's a local monument that I would like to keep in my layout... I have thought of that clock story too, and I don't have take any decision right now. But I think that I will prefer to put the clock in the top part of the front of the townhall, instead of a proper clock tower. Dunno why... I will try to put some minifigs in the next pics, evenif it will not be my final layout.... It will looks more alive... And it's always a pleasure to have some constructive remarques, and the vision of other members from our mocs. That permit to see the bad things and to modify them! And you have given me the desire to make a new post office... I have started to work on it this afternoon...

I like to have some constructive critisism! It permits you to be better! I have tried to find a piece not to make the valve stick out, but it seems that it doesn't exist. The cement mixter is fixed to the yellow structure to its two sides. I've put a 1x1 yellow bricks with a hole near the valve. So I need a two hole technic pins with a studed extremity. It's not really clear... I've used the new flicked missile technic piece, but the gray tube can't go more into the rounded dark grey piece from the mixter... I've tried a lot of combination, but it's my better result for now. Maybe I will try how to fix that! Thanks for your comment!

I really like the impulse sets, which permit us to have some minifigs with good idea of accessories. But because of the concept of a very small set, which means very fiew pieces, the deisgn of those accessories seems a little too simple. So I tried to upgrade this set : And came with this : ...

Layout So it's time for me to post somefew pics of my future layout. Anything is really finished, I have changed some things here and there, and I know that I will do it again... But I want to progress in my layout too, Iv'e got so many things to do in it! (like interiors...) Here some pics of piece of steet. Just note that there are missing all the street details, like lamp and minifigs, of course! And here some closer view on few modified buildings. The townhall is taller than before and the outside straires are more imposing : I've made some modification to my "art nouveau" house, because I wasn't sohappy with the wite column. So I decides to put them of. I rewoerd on the stairtoo and try to make the rail looking more vegetal : And finally, some quick shots from my modified versions of the cinema and the green grocery : Of course, those last pics don't show all the secret of those version. I will show you latter...

I've got the same problem too, in particular with the new window frames (1x4x6), which don't sit correctly at all! They really look cheap! What a very big mistake! booo! And the photoshope clock is the firts thing that I see in your pic! I just notice this until to knwo if I was the only one to have notice this! More seriously, your post office looks really great between CC and MS! (I hope you to find the GG at the event, it's really a nice looking set too!). I like the architectur of the entrance of the post office. It looks more impresive than the firts floor, giving a more important stature to the buidling when you want to enter in it. I really like how you have made the back of the building too. The architecture is not here for the beauty of the building, but for the good way of the "post office function". I mean, the public will not go back, so the details in the building are not as expected as the front, like in the real bildings like this. Good point! The fact that the post van can enter in the garage is a very nice touch too! I don't knox why TLC doesn't give us some more interactive sets like that! The only one thing that I don't like that much is the yellow/tan combination in a same building. I think that I will put some tan pieces above the dark gray strip in each side of the building, keeping the central section yellow to the roof. But it's just me... And all the details everywhere inside! Great! So you've made a great moc here!

I like, too, the difference between Grayville and greenville. It seems that you have bought a lot of wite creator house! I like the way the suburb area looks like, with this same architecture, compared to the downtown, wich looks more riche. I've got a request.... Can you take a closer view on the gray thing which seems to be a big streetclock? It looks interesting in the general viw, but too small to appreciated it well... Thanks!

Thanks for this review, metalandi! I'm very exited to put my hand on those sets! They looks really great! I especially like the colour scheme of those new CG! I'm not as happy with the size of the truck, really too big for me! (I hate 8-wide vehicules ) But it's not really a matter, I will try to downsize it. And the new torso seems to be really nice! It seems not to be as yellow as the head, it looks more orange with the two orange strips. I like this!

I can remember when I saw this set in LEGO catalogues, looking at it, dreamin to have it.... like so many other sets... And this one is still a dream... I really like the design of this set, it looks really complete, with some nice details. There are no lost place. The strairs withe the foot bridge add a lot to it IMO. Looking at the pics, I've got a question : is the "Rescue Rig" trailer one piece or is it brick build?

I voted for Captain Green Hair. His hotroad reminds me of the old Model Team sets... But there are other entries which were very nice and fun. Some entries like Slyowl's moc reminds me more of a kart than an hotroad (sorry, I don't have the hotroad culture...). It could be another contest in the same spirit : building your kart for the next Mario Kart game... or LEGO racer!

You've made some very nice mocs using the moto frame, Squinty Eyes! I really like the snowcycle, it's very very great!
-
Those new city sets look very promising! I like the feeling of the new CG line, it smells the holidays at the beach! I want them all for sure!
-
I don't have many time those days to make some LEGO, I've got other project than plastic bricks... If you don't break inti my home and steal my own statue, it's not a problem, you can build it too, I don't mind! I will try to take some more pics soon...
-
Thanks for the better pic! I like this set a lot (like all the SpongeBob set !). I'm happy to see a new bob face, and a new fish using the new fish head! The buidling looks quite empty from the front, but well done. I think that we will have some nice features inside...

I've got the same prombel in the 2006 advent calendar. My city worker lost one of his leg when I put hime sit down. I called the consumer service and send me new legs and hips which work well!
-
Thanks whung for this pic! EVen if the quality of the pic is bad, this set looks very promising, like the whole CG line! I like the colour scheme that is used for the new GC. And a platform like this is a really good idea! And there is a small copter and a crane! The playability seems to be fun, and the design too! I really need to develop the harbour section of my layout! But this set will help me, for sure!
-
De rien! For once, you're not the first to have some new sets! I've bought them to my local supermarket, Cora. It's stange, because they've got the new speed racer sets and those indy sets, but not the new castle sets...
-
Yes it's a laptop, and it was in the set! When I opened it, I understood why this little box was so heavy! Asus is my official sponsor, so I have to show the logo! I have to add that I don't have put on the stickers...
