Maybe the construction set for me... doors, big red tipper, caterpillar tracks... That sounds not too bad for me... In the harbour set, there are (only) basic pieces.

So it's time for me to post pics of my city, Nancy. First, some pics of the Place Stanislas, one of the more beautiful place of France and of Europe (it's not me who say that, it's a well known place by people who are interested in architecture). For information, the place has been remake 2 years ago in its original style (because it had became a parc car...) And after that, some pics of some nice houses that you can find if you take the time to raise your head. People who like art nouveau will be happy, this mouvement was very develloped in Nancy. In fact, a lot of artists came here when the Alsace-Lorraine (the departement Moselle of the Lorraine to be more accurate) was annexed by Dutchland. This last building is one of my favourite *wub* (maybe because of the Harry Potter Hogwart feeling...)

What a nice layout! The fact that it's on different level is really nice! I would like to make some levels in my layout, but I don't ahev all that rockwalls... Anyway. The cargo section is nice, like the townstreet. The use of those roadplates is nice in the townsteet section, making some parc cars with trees, great! With all the details everywhere (roadsigns, a lot of minifigs,...), everything is full of live. So congrats for your layout Mr Simonwillems!

Well, I've bought some days ago the Belville advent calendar, nice parts! After looking in supermarket and toystores, I've finally found just one seaport box! SO finally, I've got all the new city sets that I wanted! :-) And I bought the tan houses creator set, what a really good set too! So now, I don't buy any LEGO set until 2008...

It would be with pleasur, but I can't! My computer is not so old, but I can't run LDD 2 properly, because my graphic card has not the latest drivers. And I can't install them... *wacko* Sorry!

Well, after seeing those new and better pics from this set, I find my first reaction a little too hard... I've got a better impression with this set now... And finally I'm really happy to see some more classic sized constructions! In fact, with CC, I was very desoriented with the size: Do I have to rebuild my city with the new "standard" or with the classic size?... And finally, after making my CC smaller, I decided to choose the classic road, like I always have done. With MS, I was in the same situation... And I decided to continue in the classic style, thinking that maybe I will go to the new and big size if TLC will release some new sets like that... And with this set, no doubt, classic style for me, with no back and interiors! This is for the size. For the design, the new pics give more justice to this set than the first pic. The buildings look better, the cinema in particular. And it seems that there are a lot of snot technics in it. And this station is really really great! The tree is the only part of the set that I really dislike... Can't wait to see it in real...

Well... Yes I like this set, but I don't know how to explain my feeling... But I have to recognize that I'm not as impressed as I was seeing the CC! Yes, with CC and MS, I was waiting for some big buildings, with a lot of details, and an impressive look. And this set is not like this. The size of the buildings is ok, even if I found them a little too small now... The cinema don't appeal to me... I don't like all those colours put together... And this architecture is not my cup of tea. It's far from small cinemas that I know... But it's always good to have different styles from different countries. The colorscheme of the town hall is far better for me. Dark green looks great! The fountaine is quite simple too... But those gold bricks are nice. I really like the gaz station! Just put some extra floors on it and you will have a nice building! The car and trucks look really nice too! But the horrible part of this set seems to be the tree on the back, using this trans green alge part... However, the box art is a very good idea :-D ! Well, it seems that finally I'm not a true classic style fan... Or maybe it's because I don't like the retro movement... Using its history to make its future, yes of course! Puting the past for the future appears dangerous... But don't worry, I will buy it! It's a nice city set overall.

Hard choise! There were a lot of good entries! And it's great to have made some categories, because choosing just one firetruck would have been impossible! So I voted for Simonwillems, Uniquebuilder and LasseD. And good job for all of you who had entered thice nice contest! *y*

It's the same for me. And I keep all the catalogues, and I stores all my sets and pieces carrefully. So there are just small quirks, compared to some people here! I don't have really confession. Maybe, yes, i've stolen some legos to my friends when I was younger... (few minifigs...) But it was in my childhood :-$

Nice "piece of street"! My fav is the yellow house. But I really like how you have made the corner with the white house. *y*

Exactly! I like this feeling! It's like we can fly through the clouds, exploring some new words... Entry #2 is well done too, but I'm not a big fan of that kind of mechaknight so...

So here some pics of my new buidlings: The same house with few modifications, and with another house at its side I'm not totally satisfied with this new house... But it's its first version, and I need to spend more time to have the final version (I made it this afternoon). And I need to make the interior, which will put some live... And here, a small preview of my futur layout... (it's just a part of it, it's the towncenter)

Thanks for the link Legomilk! Well, I'm very disapointed with the new city line... The two post sets are very classics, so it's really great! The cargo truck will be mine too. But the two new big and crappy planes will not! Some money will be saved :-) And for the new police line, it's not as good as I had expected... I will hopping for a very nice line, like the firefighters was this year. But it doesn't look as well designed. But I have to recognize that the station is better than the last one, even if it's not THE policestation. I will probably buy it just for the pieces... Maybe the copter to make more airtrafficjam in my aiport, and the new polcie trcuk will not be for me too... So for me, it's just half of the new city sets, and the smaller ones! I will probably buy the new castle sets, I really love thos dwarves! And maybe the two smaller indy sets... if it's not all the line... It will depend on the new CC styled sets and their prices... And of course, some impulse sets too! ANd don't forget the creator house, and why not the spider... In conclusion, 2008 looks not as good as 2007, the level is not as hight... This is just my opinion!

Well... The plane is ugly! It looks out of proportion with those big passenger plane! But the idea was great... The truck is not very nice too! Maybe for a partpack (big windows...), it will depend on the price... The worth thing about this new police line is the colourscheme... Why are they using some blue? I mean, if they wanted to change the colour, ok, but change it totally! And not mixe white/blue with white/black! So crappy! Just hope that the other city sets will be as good as in 2007! Maybe it's because of the '07 sets, which are very very good, that we are expecting a so hight level design... I didn't wanted the Indian Jones sets because of my wallet, but if all the city sets are like that, I will buy the Indy line :-D ! My last hope for the city line is the mail sets and the CC series...

For me it's a real moment of joy when I finished to build my layout! I can look at it for houres, with the trains running around it! I look at it like a child looking at a christmas tree *sweet* ! It's like this is not my layout, I'm a spectator... All my small mocs with the official sets... Trying to make those old catalogue diorama comes true... And become the moment to store it... I take some pics, so I can see the evolution of my building! Like you did with your Saloon. So after a year, you can say: Hey, look at my first layout, it was so small and the buildings were so simple! :-D It's not easy to describe this feeling... This is why I love LEGO so much!

Nice house! It's great to habe a new architecture for the new house! And a new colorscheme! A touch of diversity is always welcome, and more when the price is good! BBQ and accessories *y* But roofwindows *n* Velux will be better I think... However, it's a really nice set that I will buy

Exactly! It's not really a surprise that TLC finally "killed" the 9V system. And this system has the longest life of all electric system and motor(finally, I'm not sure, maybe it's the 12V system... but we have seen a lot of different motors in Technic, and the reactions are not as hot...). Just hope that TLC takes the opportunity to make this new system more modern, with nice functions: like more sounds, lights, stop and start system... I'm not complaining about it now, because we don't know anything about this new system. Just wait, see and hope that it wouldn't cost a lot to modify the train engines...

Nice to see some bricknews from you BM! And you're working on your layout, which is great! The new version is better than the old one (which is a good think when you spend some times trying to make it better... :-D ). It doesn't have this empty feeling and looks more built now. On negative point for me is that I wwouldn't put a small yellow fence in front of the "Saloon piece", because we don't see it as well... And the mechanism for the chairs, using magnets is really creative! (Why TLC doesn't used them more?...) And nothing to say about the BM extra: decals and background are so nice! I really like the door with this sticker, it looks like a new official door piece. Maybe the curtains are too simple now... And I know what you feel when you said that it's not as funny to improve a moc as building a new one... It's the same for me and my layout. So, this is why I destroy allmost all my houses, to build all news... (I have to do a new layout, but not for 2007, don't have enought time this year...)
