  1. All great entrys, but only 7 points so here goes: JKool - 2 Lorenzen - 2 JDHinten - 1 Selander - 1 Lego Warlord 8 - 1 Great entrys guys
  2. Thats just awesome slyowl, you really are a master at these sort of scenes. So much to llike here, but my favourite aspect has to be how you have made each building in a different style and variation. Great work. I take it this is for the Classic Castle contest?
  3. Hey buddy, i think your a bit late. Its the 2nd December today and I think the deadline for the contest was the 30th of November. You better check it out with the admins.
  4. A very interesting entry you have here. I do admire the fact that you have attempted the 'below sealevel' effect, which can be hard to pull off. Also the way you have attempted to recreated the hull of the ship underwater is also a very good try as its not the easiest thing to do. Great work on all of the details that you have crammed in below the waves, and above Topped of with a quirky story Great entry
  5. Even though i watched you build this (and rushed you so i could use the pieces afterwards), i am very impressed with what you did. I know you find it hard to settle on a idea and put that into a moc, but you did this really well and i know you did your best. Plus i do like your water effect! Great entry Honeybee
  6. I really like this entry, it might be simple build-wise, but its just great .I love the technique you used with that clear base plate, very effective! Also the choice of colours are excellent, light grey and dark blue go well together. Plus i love the mini-figs, seeing those pirates all done up in suits with their cheesy grins is just awesome. Top marks for doing your entrys as a 3 part story, very original. Great entry sir!
  7. Very impressive Guss! I like the sea monster, it looks really effective the way you have made it jumping from the waves. But the most impressive bit is of course the ship. Its so nicely detailed and i love the figurehead. Nice idea on a cutaway section so we can see all the great detail inside. Im also a fan of brick built sails. What a excellent job you have done. Any chance you could build the rest of the ship as id love to see her complete. Excellent entry
  8. Thankyou Bonaparte, thats a great comment to here from a great builder such as yourself. Much appreciated, thanks. And keep those amazing ships coming!
  9. I have finally settled on a sigfig!!! Get me in there
  10. I know exactly what you mean!!!
  11. Great use of pieces and mini-figs. Very cute moc and perfect at what it shows. Good work
  12. I nearly didnt notice this, as it was right down the list. It might have been better to post a new topic with it. Anyways, my post will get it back up the top where it belongs. Right, on to this awesome entry. Ive been following your wip pictures of this on flickr and have been looking forward to seeing this. Its such a great build allround, so vibrant with colours that it really stands out. I can see you've spent a long time on this and it shows in all the great details you've crammed in. The port is very quaint and has a nice joly feel to it. The different techniques on the houses are very well executed. The ship is awesome, great shape and colour choice and im a fan of brick built sails. Overall this is a top notch moc and one of the best ive seen from you and in the competition. Just love the bright colour effect that it gives off. You've made it very difficult for the voters as its another great entry to add to the many there already is!
  13. Another nice large entry. Seems lots of people are going for a ship and a port. The port is nice, with different combinations of techniques that might not be new, but they work well here. The cannons on the wall are nice and look good, as well as the little fountain. The ship looks very similar in style and shape to the one Sir Nadroj built in the last competition, but thats no bad thing as it was a nice ship, as is yours. My only sugestion would be to try and have more going on in the sea, as at the moment it looks very bare, its a large space so you should try and fit in some more details there. But on the whole this is a very nice entry. Good luck in the contest.
  14. Thanks Iz, i did try to give it a very 'scenic' feel. I think im going to have a break from pirates for a bit now, and come back with something fresh and spectacular, i hope.
  15. Another awesome ship in progress. Cap Green hair has really set the trend. Looking good so far General, nice colours and shape, and to be honest, i quite like the printed gunports because its different. Even tho you probably will choose plain ones. I look forward to seeing more of this. Pity its going to be a bluecoat ship tho! Am i the only Privateer on this forum?
  16. Neat little moc, even tho you say you rushed it in ten mins. You should of spent more time on an entry. But, its got a frog, and that changes everything. Every moc needs a frog, and theres something suspicious about that frog hiding there. What is he up to? what does he know that we dont?
  17. I was looking forward to your entry and it doesnt dissapoint. What a great idea, i was planning on building a shipyard moc down the line myself, but you've beat me to it. This is excellent, theres a great amount of detail throughout, with so many different things going on. Your town looks great, as does your landscaping and ship. I am a big fan of your ship building technique, which i think works wonderfully here. Great entry and deffinitly prize worthy!
  18. Just checked out the other pics, like i said before, great work. The little details on the building with the dark blue and black wedges is very nice. BUT, where am i on the moc? wheres my sigfig? Yes, i do really need to sort myself out a sigfig.
  19. This is the best moc ive seen from you and i personally think this is the best large entry so far. I love the whole look of it, you've really captured the scene well. The ship is awesome, i really like that style of ship, and you've crammed so many great details all around the whole moc. I just really like the whole idea and layout, the scene is one that really appeals to me. Most excellent work Blackmoor!
  20. Thanks, i usually build the rocks and coastline first, then work backwards and complete the rest of the land area, then add the houses and landscape round them. I find it easier that way, as once the front is done, then its just a case of building up the back to the same level. For this one i built the front first with all the rocks and beach, then i built the basement and then filled in everything between. If the model is quite big, then i do use some green baseplates because its easier to cover a large area with them then it is to lay lots of plates down.
  21. Thanks for the comments. Yes, the tavern does look quite big. I had planned to make it smaller but it just didnt give me much room to make a decent interior withs lots going on. Im not sure what im doing with this moc, but i probably wont add it to the coastline because the cliffs are too low and im allready working on another tavern. So i'll probably trash this moc in the next few days :pir-skull: I originally started hoarding 1x1 round plates at the beginning of the year because i planned to use them for a unbelievably huge moc that i hope to start soon. So every month i buy 900 of those 4 colours, grey, dark grey, black and brown. And now im virtually swimming in them, which is also the reason why i started making buildings out of them as something different rather then streets. It works quite well as long as you remember to build an inner wall behind them which blocks the light from comming through the gaps they leave when the're stacked together. Thankyou, ive discovered that you just cant have enough 1x1 round plates, as the're so good at giving texture and detail to mocs. Im not sure how this coastline will turn out, it seemed a cool idea at first, but ive got some great ideas for something really big and spectacular and its getting harder to resist taking them apart and using the pieces. But we'll see. Thanks for your kind words and i look forward to seeing your next moc!
  22. Another nice large entry. The port looks great with some nice details and i do like the fact that you've added an interior to the houses, which gives the moc more depth. The ship is a nice addition and compliments the port quite well. It looks like a very nice ship with some neat ideas. Great work sir!
  23. One of the best presented and layed out entry so far. Lots going on with some nice landscaping of the cliffs. The town has a quaint feel to it which i like. My only concern would be to add some more trees and general 'greenary' to the scene as it is very grey. But thats just a small thing. Excellent work all round!
  24. Ahh, i knew id seen it Great work, i think your the only person ive seen who has used the classic colours and made a more realistic moc with them. It really makes it stand out. Excellent stuff!
  25. 92a Derfel Productions Ltd - is proud to present 'Nancy's Tavern' "Come take a drink and drown your sorrows and all of our fears will be gone till tomorrow. Have no regrets and live for the day at Nancy's harbour cafe" This was originally my entry for PTV2, but I abandoned it half way through for something smaller, simpler and less hassle (mainly due to the fact I wouldnt get enough time). But i had a some free time in the last week, so decided to finish it off to see what i could have done for the contest if i had put some extra time and effort in. The tavern has full interior and can be lifted of to reveal the basement/celler. Enjoy This is NOT my contest entry, just a bit of fun.
