  1. Thanks for the positive comments, they are allways much appreciated. I love building ports and i recently visited some in cornwall which are still pretty much untouched and have kept ther 17th/18th century look and feel. Great for inspiration! Here is an update pic showing how its coming along, still got a long way to go though!
  2. Looking good, and i like the colour scheme. I have never tried using any of the digital design programs, and even though its not my thing, i do appreciate the effort that goes in to designing mocs this way. Keep up the good work, im sure it will be great when its finished
  3. After enjoying a nice break after my last moc, i decided yesterday to start building the next one. so i figured id post a few pics. Its very early days and this is just a small section of my next port and one of the ships that will be there.
  4. Thats gonna be one big ship! How many masts are you planning on having? Ive often thought that building a ship too long on reguler hull pieces would look odd, due to the width looking to thin. Altho it could work well for a clipper like the cutty sark, havnt seen many people build them. It will be interesting to see how this works out. keep it up
  5. Thats a nice moc you have there, and quite a sensible design because you can keep adding new sections on each side, if that is the case. nice work.
  6. A very nice moc. Nice idea and looks great from all angles. Makes me want to get my lazy self up and start building again . But im enjoying my break to much. good work
  7. nice to see how people's building evolves over time. some very nice ships you have there, and captain greenhair, u deffinitly are the master ship builder
  8. another nice building you have there, and a good size, as most people build much smaller. great look and detail all round. your getting much better with each build. i look forward to the next one
  9. a very nice little port u have there, i like the interesting buildings and the ship. good job
  10. Sounds like a good deal to me. i should really start stocking up on a few ships myself. I need those hull pieces!
  11. Sometimes if im building something really big then i will post a few teaser pics, but i usually wait untill its finished. It really depends on what im building and how well its turning out.
  12. A lot of cool stuff. Id love to go to one of these events. I don't know if we get anything like that here in England.
  13. A very neat little moc zorro. Great detail and nicely executed. Good work sir
  14. Very good work, i see things are coming along nicely. You're deffinitly begining to get that look and feel that i know your after. I know that when your port is finished it will be very impressive after all the time and effort you are putting in on such a big project. Im currently still working on my coastline which i hope will be thirty feet when finished, comprising of all my ports and fishing villages and run by the british redcoats. So i think the british redcoats will be leading the way when it comes to ports as well as ships. Unstopable :pir-skull: . Im a privateer, but my loyalty is to the british Keep up the good work.
  15. some very neat litte mocs u have there. great detail. good job
  16. Personaly, id like to see some brand new factions. Why not release some privateers with their own ships and crew. I know everyone wants bluecoats, but i think they should introduce a brand new soldier with new coloured uniforms. We've had redcoats and bluecoats before.
  17. Its great that you guys put the time and effort in to do these. Interesting interview, its good to get to know a bit more about everyone on here. I was wondering about what age range peope are, i thought i was one of the oldest at 25.
  18. I agree with Hornbricker, not my thing, i prefer to use strictly lego. But its a very creative idea and you have done a realy great job. Nice to see something different
  19. If i need ideas or inspiration I find that playing my guitar and listening to metallica do wonders
  20. Thanks for all the great comments, glad you liked it. Theres a lot of great ports that people are building on here and i look forward to seeing some of those huge projects finished. I must confess that im tempted to embark on a realy big project, but not yet as theres a few things i have planned first. Thanks to the classic pirate staff for allowing me to share my mocs on this great site, keep it going
  21. looking good, and i like the idea to go with a modular design. I usualy build my houses seperatly so i can play about with getting them in the best position on the layout. The building looks good and is a nice size, i find that 1x1 rounds make quite attractive details if you place them around the windows, it helps to break up the overall brown look, check out one of mine to see what i mean. As regarding building mountains, the inside wont be seen, so dont worry about trying to make it look neat. I usually build surports using 2x4 bricks, but anything will do. Just make sure that when you rest your plates on top, the structure is sturdy. I will try and post a pic for you.
  22. Vig. 77d Ive finaly finished my latest port. There are a lot of great ship building talents on here and a lot of ships, so i figured i'd keep doing what i do best, building ports. This will be part of my coastal layout im working on, it took me nearly four weeks due to the use of over 2000 round 1x1's. Enjoy. For more pics visit my Moc Pages: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/121763
  23. The British recognised my skills and hired me, so Privateer all the way :pir-skull:
  24. Here's another one of my old castle mocs, i thinK this was my first propper moc, made bacK at the begining of the year. Some may have seen it, but for those that havn't heres a few pics.
  25. I agree with slyowl that brown is probably the best choice for most builders due to the fact its cheap and easy to get hold of. If you realy want to go for more detail and accuracy then tan is the way to go, but can be harder to get, expecialy dark tan. I quite like the new dark brown, but im more of a port builder then a ship builder.
