Yes, sure: (WindowsOS) CTRl+I...or File->Import Model -
Quite nice, really resembling Blacktron feeling, well done.

Ehm: LDCad is one of the 3D editors for LDRAW like MLCAD, so...yeah, they would of course just like with any other LDRAW editors (???)
-
Interestingly used 2x 3939 trans-yellow opposing each other making unusual shape of canopy - these are kind of things that I like: "strangely" used/placed/rotated bricks, that is...fine job done with those indeed!
-
...or even better tell them to use LDCad, which is basically LDD for LDRAW - for me the beast and easiest LDRAW sw ever around!
-
Aha, interesting to hear this kind of stories from the first hand - thanx.
-
Ah, it looked so promising!
-
Very good photostory

Yes, I agree, but most of the ppl using LDD are pure LEGO enthusiasts that do not know anything about brick creating and stuff, therefore for most/average LDD ppl LDRAW would always look like a headache instead of move forward compared to LDD - people want easy learning and right away functioning tool for their virtual builds that do many things automaticaly for them (flexi connections, brick sticking etc.), those who are more skillfull are probably already doing their stuff with some of the LDRAW 3D sw, I guess.
-
Hah, because LDRAW is really a pain compared to LDD - that's why, sorry. I am afraid LDD stuff has no time/will inspecting several or even hundreds bricks of all types and quality daily (checking the size, functionalities, visual exactness etc. of each and every submited brick) when they have less and less time for regular LDD updates itself... ...they would need to hire new stuff, completely change their actual system etc., so this will very probably never happen tho I would be the first clapping my hands if they actually would!
-
Aha, so it is made based on game? Sorry I did not read text so I thought it is completely your invention...nevermind, still looking good anyway!
-
I agree on this fully supporting such idea tho this was already mentioned long time ago I guess with the resulting main reason "why not" stating that there would be a mess of custom made bricks that would be incompatible between each other (you know not everyone is Einstein nor having high degree in 3D & mathematics) and also probs with such indexation, if I remember correctly...
-
BTW do I understand it right that basically LEGO and TENTE bricks are interchangeable?
-
That blood running out from the neck is made really interestingly indeed, I like the way you achieve that effect.
-
Kalais, this was already discussed here several times and if you would read some of the latest posts (let's say like last 2-3 pages actually ) then you would already find answers to your question...in short: new version will introduce .obj bricks (different type of input bricks for render) which will most probably already have brick seams (you know, the problem you was asking about - several bricks of the same color looking as one big brick) - hope my answer satisfied you a bit. Ehm, it cannot be done in BR...@msx80 already told you, sorry.

That is very good design - original, not repeating anything I knew, I like it
-
Really nice reproduction

Yea, unfortunately I think exactly the same: I am quite afraid there is no reason for TLG returning back to something so much from the past like ClassicSpace (or its derivatives) as they never did anything like that before + they are still more likely to something new never seen before than repeating stuff they already made sometime in their past tho I'd be more than happy if they actually would...my pure guess is they will come up with some sort of new kind-of mixed theme, like someone else elsewhere on this forum speculated, let's say Space Castle or any other mixed theme that actually become new subtheme of the LEGO Space family. And there is a lot of possibilities even some "absurd" ones like for example: sci-fi space world from the prehistory which minifigs would be Fabuland-like set into world resembling the one of Friends/Elves theme containing castles and dinos all happening in the air (like world/towns in clouds etc.) surrounded by walls of half-frozen waters...and this one could be quite interesting!

New Parts for LGEO Library
___ replied to Darats's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Yes, creating a stud is absolutely not a problem: I just load let's say 1x1 LDRAW brick into Blender and in Edit Mode I delete all except the stud BUT the main problem is how do I find exact position(s) for the respective stud(s) on the brick(s)? That would really be challenge... -

Thanx for invitation, but I rather stay kind of "hidden gem" for them (you know, Scorpio zodiac sign person or what).
