Ok, I agree with the lacking items you pointed out. Also the colors do make me want to puke and I am buy new pieces in different colors to make mine look less like a nightmare. But seriously, even as a kid, I was so disapointed in this ship. I wanted new ships so bad, and when this came out I was seriously bummed. What is this ship good for? Honestly its not good for anything. The saddest part about this ship is that Renegade Runner is more functional and playable than this. I do own it, but only because I got it as a present for Christmas, and because I wanted to have them whole set of ships. Is it better than Caribbean Clipper? NO WAY! The Clipper does have it drawbacks, but at least it looks like a ship and not a circus. -Super

Ok, Two things: 1. Don't bow to peer pressure and the "white pants" crowd. They love white pants so much they wear them themselves. 2. I like it, don't listen to the lousy redcoats and their rabble. Of course this cut has a little bayonet cut, thats what combat soldiers do! I think it looks great and I wouldnt change it. I am going to have a squad myself.

There was talk of calling me the "forum sponsor" instead of black sheep, but I still act up enough to prevent that from happening.

That 12 year old is an expensive kid isn't he?

I have spend well over $1000 this year. My purchases included: Caribbean Clipper Caribbean Clipper w/box ElDelrado w/ box Black Seas Barracuda w/box Sabre Island Sabre Isalnd w/box Forbidden Island Four collections purchased totalling $200 Two Lego direct orders totalling $60 8 bricklink orders totalling $400+ Not to mention impluse sets... who keep track of those? Sooooooooooo.... yeah........... I'm trying to cool my jets. Oh, if my fiance leaves me, I'm blaming that THUG "ZORRO"[/b].

Wow, my thread got hi-jacked by u-clips! Until the port is done, no ship MOCs, this probably means at least a year or two... sorry! I prefer to use the new gold pirate hook for bayonet assemblies. To me its better looking, and every time I get a torso for a blackcoat, I also get his bayonet holder. -Super

Any Idea When the Next Pirate Sets will be announced?
martinsuper replied to Dr. Steve's topic in LEGO Pirates
110% correct. -
Are you serious? You must be kidding yourself! I buy at least one a week with the grocieries!!! I have like.... at least 10 now! Freakin Steve has like 900 of them! Go buy some! Stop cheating yourself! I have to say that I give this set a 10/10. That's right, I think its perfect! The way I look at it is that if I wanted to buy JUST the minifigures on ebay or elsewhere it would cost me more than $6. We haven't started talking about shipping yet! Then you get a cannon with a nice setup under it, some useful bricks and a couple vegetation pieces which to me are just neat extras. I love this set, and whenever I have spare bucks, I pickup one or two. -Super

Steve, I wonder I think you play both sides....

Any Idea When the Next Pirate Sets will be announced?
martinsuper replied to Dr. Steve's topic in LEGO Pirates
This last line did not provide enough sets to survive two christmas seasons without new sets. Bottom line is that this line of pirate sets could not make it one year in a child's gift giving "life". Once you factor in Christmas, Birthdays, etc... There are not enough Pirate sets for the amount of crap a kid could get. Also remember that the impluse sets (some of the best value ever in my opinion) are selling like MAD. Dude to these factors, a new line of sets HAS TO be released for this year's holiday season. I agree completely that we see an annoucement or picture release in June or July, and the actual sets on the shelves in November at the LATEST. If we don't see anything in June or July, don't hold your breath for this year. But the popularity of this reborn line suggests to me we will see something. -Super -
Well maybe you are too busy filling shopping carts full of cannon battles?
-
Because its not a normal ship of the line or pirate ship, you used different methods to achieve your look. Thats all Im saying.
-
Meijer and Target both have them. I just bought another cannon battle and soldier's arsenal a couple days ago. Also, check the endcaps for soldier's arsenal because sometimes they are not with the rest of the LEGO. -Super

Thats pretty cool. Quite a different technique than we are normally used to on this forum. Thanks for posting this!

Totally for the win.

1. The blackcoats. I won't be using them as an army division. I just put them there for the picture. My actual army will be marines and regular soldiers. Hopefully more marines than anything because I like the sidepack look on the tricorne blue coats. It looks more American to me, 2. I like the shakos on them, it ties all the black and red together. I think when I use them in an MOC it will bring out a nice small detail. Besides, all my blackcoats get their shakos from killing red coats. It's their badge of honor! 3. As for the dark-blue, I am going to use one as a calvary officer, and the other other to command a squad made up of soliders using the new torso from the pirate building set. I've seen a lot of people do that and I like it. Besides, he's blue! In the set he comes with red epaulettes... THAT MAKES HIM A BLUE COAT!!! 4. So, my expansion plan is to get 13 more sidepacks, expand the blackcoats to at least 10 soldiers not counting their officers. Expand my Calvary to at least ten not counting their officers. My black coat "police" will only be added to as I randomly obtain old pirate captain torsos. 5. Oh yeah, and I always need more harbor sentries.... They were not in this picture either! -Super

Ships: 6285 Black Seas Barracuda 6289 Red Beards Runner 6243 Redbeard's Runner 6250 Crossbone Clipper 6274 Caribbean Clipper (X2) 6271 Imperial Flagship 6280 Armada Flagship I've been too busy working on my port to make any MOC ships yet. But I will in time. -Super

Oh! I didn't even see that I didn't give them one! I'll fix that. I am now working on expanding my black coats and calvary. I liked how those combinations turned out. As I get more sidepacks, I will make more sailors into "marines". This group does not include my ship's crews. So I still have more blue coats on my Caribbean Clippers and other ships. -Super

Here are my votes. Slyowl 1 Erdbeereis 1 Captain Zuloo 1 I like the gore and carnage, and I also like shipyards, so those MOCs stuck out to me. All of the them are very very well built. However, the lack of blue coats in ANY of these MOCs is truly disapointing....
-
I don't know if Im in the right spot or if this will be moved. But here is my army for the BLUE COAT cause! First is an overview of everything. Officers, with some sailors behind them Guys on the left are my harbor police. Guys are the right are my all-time favorite BLACK COATS! Blue Coat Marines Better Angle I hope you like it! I will take better pictures when I have some time to actually set up lighting and put together a background for it. I also plan on expanding my "Calvary" from the two guys to ten. I based them on the Croatian Alcari jousters who continue the tradition today of the Croatian Medium Calvary that fought the Turkish invasion. Enjoy! BLUE COATS FOR THE WIN!

Every man is right! I'll post pictures tonight!

Holy crap that looks amazing! I again feel like throwing my projects out the window when I see something like this!!!

First off, let we give you a warm welcome to the LEGO pirate world. Also let me introduce myself as the guy who gets mad really easy and provides hours of entertainment for the members here. That is the reason I'm the black sheep! I am very impressed with your MOC! It is truly your own creation and design, and I see that you have spend the time researching the most popular building techniques to achieve this creation! I have to say that I am as impressed with your research as I am with your creation because it really shows that you took this seriously. I have been here for a short while, but my ship building has been non-existant. I have had to focus on working on my port, so I am sad to say that you as a new member are WAY ahead of me! I am very pleased to welcome you to our little corner of EuroBricks! I look forward to more of your creations! -Super
