  1. Found some classic Sports Hockey figures from 2003 at the thrift store. Got 3540, 3541and 3543 all for $1.99! 3543 was actually sealed and the other two had been opened, but were complete with stickers unattached. There were around 10-15 bionicle packs for $1.99 as well, but passed on them as I'm not a fan of that theme.
  2. PM sent. Thanks!
  3. PM sent! Thanks.
  4. Dont usually post in this theme much, but I figured you guys would enjoy this article: http://jalopnik.com/5938389/huge-drivable-lego-go+kart-ups-pushes-global-awesome-index-to-new-highs Some awesome creations in these threads, keep it up!
  5. On an episode of Big Brother last night, Iain received "Legos" (as he called them) as a gift from under a Christmas tree. Couldn't see what set it was, however.
  6. It pays to ask around....I picked up that set off a co-worker along with the 6080 castle for around $120. Both were boxed and hadn't been touched since the 90's. He told me he was going to throw them out Still not as good as my 5571 find for $100, but it's up there.
  7. I'll also add that if anyone is looking for Series 7, the Oakville TRU had 7 cases - some even unopened. Saw 1 lonely Series 8 fig there that I gave to a kid watching me haha They were unsure when they would get more in.
  8. Did you by any change get an extra of this?? On another topic I picked up Series 8 today at Wal-Mart in Oakville. Also 1 out of 2 WM I checked in Mississauga had them. Good luck!
  9. Just WOW! I can imagine what it cost to build such a large model! Are you working on another large car as your profile picture suggests? Keep up the great work.
  10. Saw someone selling Series 8 on Toronto Kijiji. Anyone notice them at any stores yet here in Canada?
  11. Did some Sunday shopping on eBay and actualy won a couple auctions for once. Got these two vintage sets, and I paid below the going rate. Cant wait for them to arrive!!
  12. I was searching through ebay today and came upon the Mercedes 220 with Garage. It's not sealed, however. Would that price be fair on this set?
  13. I work in television as a cameraman, switcher and editor. Love my job as it deals with weather - one of the things I was most interested in growing up. Also a part time farmer fiddling around with 40 acres. Growing Corn and soybeans mostly.
  14. He could do that as well. It was a suggestion as I use Peeron. I find it easier and a clean layout. Just because YOU don't go there, doesn't mean others don't. You could of suggested your idea as well instead of writing it in the form of a condescending question.
  15. The black battery box is used in 10 sets. The mini 9V motor came in 25 sets or these 10 sets. Depends on what the weight of it is. The other 9V motor came in 16 sets. The black electric wire with Brick came in 6 sets. You might be able to cross-reference some to see what sets exactly they go with. One you determine what piece is from what set, plug the set number into Peeron and it will give you a parts list and most of the time downloadable instructions.
  16. A few more: Gorelaxx was right with the cylinder halves, as well as the yellow tail with sticker on it is from 8250 Search Sub. The white 3x1 slope piece with the coastguard sticker on it, and the 2x1 printed gas pump piece (Octan) are from 6338 Hurricane Harbour. The white 2x4 tile with Ferrari sticker is from 2556 Ferrari F1 Model Team set. The Trans Blue garage door section is from 6 sets, which use 6 or more pieces. Good luck!
  17. The red tail piece with the #5 sticker on it is from 6679 Dark Shark. The red slope piece with the #28 on it is from 8808 F1 Racer. The 2x2 round tile with zebra stripes was in 6 sets. The red M-Tron cockpit nose was in 3 sets. Good luck!
  18. I would pick 4549 Container Double Stack. Missed out on this set in its prime, but also never saw this in a store either. Some day it will be mine! [insert evil laugh here]
  19. I assume sometime in the fall. Last year it was around Brick/Black Friday I think.
  20. I like the set - heck I got the Lego email about it on the 1st and went to the Lego Store that night to spend $50! I tend to only buy when there is incentive as well. Call it great marketing, but it worked. I didn't open mine either. With exclusives and promos I tend not too. Might one day when I have kids and a few dozen rare sets kicking around. That might be fun! TLG are just trying to get people to spend, and with snazzy little promos like these, it works.
  21. A great little set. Hopefully it will be released in North America. Unless I can get it for around $5, looks like I'm patiently waiting......
  22. I looked at this set in the Lego Store last week. Almost bought it actually. Glad I saw this review, however. Not a fan of the 6-wide axle on the rear - thought it would be a little wider. I'm sure it's nothing a little MOD would fix, but from the back I just find it looks funny. Thanks for the review!
  23. I'm sorry, prateek, but I am going to disagree with you on that quote. I chose College over University because of the cost factor - not because I am academically dumber. Also, I managed to get 2 college diplomas in 4 years, instead of 1 degree in 5 years, which meant I beat University grads to jobs quicker. The biggest difference I found is that if you want history in your field - go to University. If you want to get school done and get working in your field - go to college. The program I was in was a mix of 2 yr college and 4 yr Univ. students. Some of them still don't have jobs because they graduated 1 or 2 years after I did. I could go on and on, but this is a Lego forum after all Anywho, on topic - I was 5 hours away from most of my collection while in school, but I still bought occasionally. My budget was very strict as I was paying for school myself, so the Lego I did buy was always on sale, or used from classifieds (which I managed to buy my holy grail from ). Good luck with school, and the biggest thing is to remember is you usually don't need a certain set right away. I can still find Lego in stores that were on my wanted list for a couple years ago. What are you taking in school anyways, Spider-Man?
  24. Have to throw a huge Thank You to Roger Rabbit for hooking me up with a set of the GB Minifigures. Super fast shipping and great to deal with. Thanks again!!
