To those telling TLG to think it over - 750 million dollars of Simpsons Merchandise was sold in 2008 and it has been said that "....The Simpsons "without doubt is the biggest licensing entity that Fox has had, full stop....... in either TV or film." TLG is is a business that likes to make a profit. End of story. Can't blame them for trying right? If they can sell Jack the Drunken Pirate, they can sell The Simpsons.

Only one I've seen at TRU is 30213. Pretty sure I've seen 30240 as well, but not for sure. Managed to get the Batmobile at a US Target during Christmas.

Your best bet for exclusive polybags is probably Toys R Us in Canada. I usually check there at least once a week.

Thanks for the replies all! I do go on eBay quite often, but living in Canada the shipping is quite a bit more. Also I see in the links DaveBey quoted, the CDN price is nearly $100 more than US. I think the best option is like some of you said - look for deals and such. Getting 20 or 25% off a TRU would be a good deal to complete a collection.

I was looking to buy all sets from either The Hobbit series or Monster Fighters, but I've noticed on the Lego site that there are no bundles. Did they stop doing this or are there limited times only? Those of you who have bought all of a paticular series in the past - how much did you save on buying them all at once? Thanks!

Anyone got info in when the Yorkdale Mall Lego store is opening other than Spring on 2013? I am going to attend and maybe we can get a gethering together.

The "Grey thing in the middle" is absolutely a Lego piece! Its a Streering rack from older Technic sets. The propellor also is Lego appearing in Old Grey in multiple sets in 70's & 80's. Unsure on the other pieces there.....Good luck!

Wow great collection! Never seen the 712 Seaplane before. And it looks like the sail from 6274 could use some TLC 6085 is one of my personal favorites - So much playability! I wanted that idea book so bad when I was a kid. Update us on what is complete once you dig through it all

I have been lucky to find all the CMF's for every series, even the Olympic figs, so call me a completist I guess. But limiting to 5000 worldwide makes me shrug and say "If I get lucky, so be it". I like the idea of one in every box; gives an extra incentive to look for it or even buy a whole box, and sell the extras once you find the gold one. With limiting it, I'm not going to buy 8 boxes from TRU in hopes of finding one. This will all come down to luck of the draw and that's about it. I can just imagine what they will be worth on eBay or Bricklink.......

Hey fellow Canucks - Just found Series 9 here in Mississauga. Went to the new Mastermind Toys at Hurontario & Eglinton and they had a half picked over box and a full box. Managed to get a complete set, although I don't think there will be another set in the lefovers - I found the only Plumber and Forest Maiden. Good luck! Price was $3.49.

I was in the Oakville TRU tonight and found the new 60016 Tanker Truck! They had plenty in stock. Also picked up a couple 30201 Ghost polybags and the 30163 Thor Polybag (they had tons of these). They also had the Hobbit video game and with purchase you get the free hobbit Polybag as well. Happy Shopping!

I picked up 3 of 4677 Name Letter Pack years ago - it was a great source for letters. No numbers, however. Might get this just because of the numbers in it.

I have a lot of success on eBay, mainly from saved sellers I trust. The last couple sets I bought, however, were listed as complete but were missing some odd parts. My advice is to always contact the seller if there is something missing, or if it's not as pictured. Do not leave negative feedback, and slam the sellers as not selling whats advertised. I've found that when a set is missing pieces, it's an honest mistake. And When I emailed the sellers, they wanted to make it right, and one of them even sent me extra parts for my inconvenience.
