Went to take advantage of the 20% off sale at TRU today, but none of the city vehicles I wanted were there (how annoying). Instead grabbed a flyer and headed to WM. They had tons of new sets, and the prices on some had been reduced. Most notably: 4432 Garbage Truck, 4435 Car and Camper, 4208 Fire Truck all $19.87 down from $24.99 (20% off!) But 4431 Ambulance, 4433, Dirt Bike Transporter and 4434 Dump Truck were still the normal price. (I thought this was odd since they were all in the same price bracket). Grabbed 4432 and headed to cash with the flyer to see if they would take an additional 20% off since WM price matches on the spot. They shot me down. The reason is they don't take percentages as sales in other flyers - the item has to be shown with the sale price. However, I still bought it 20% cheaper than TRU Happy Shopping.

Bought this set today. Also not a fan of the back dump piece, as well as the space between the rear door and red window frame. Garbage falls out between the crack. The new color of green is not that appealing IMO. I would rather it be the same color green as the garbage can (a bit darker). Still an excellent vehicle addition to any City. Just a few mods are in order to make it perfect. Cheers.

Had to throw my vote in for Vlai23! Love the creativity! It's already been said, but way to go everyone on you entries. Always enjoy the end results of a quickie contest like this.

Make way for the Thowback Maersk!

Nice grab! I too got lucky in 2002 and got the Legends release. It has never been taken apart since I built it! Enjoy the build!

I tried searching for this, but came up empty. Can anyone point me to the link of the updated PAB wall at Sherway Gardens? I need to go fill up my box from November!

They were on a side rack at end of a Lego aisle with other polybag sets.

You're right, the glue is a downfall. I do like the printed 2x4 tile that is on them though. And it is removable.

Just a heads up - I've been to a couple TRU's here in Mississauga and they are stocked with Series 6. They were hardly touched as well. Also, at the TRU in Oakville, I managed to get a complete set of the Bricktober figs. They were selling for $2.99. I might have grabbed the last forestman, though. This location also had the 16 minifig display cases for $24.99. Happy Hunting!

That's all!? I am only a few hundred away from this.....might have to attempt in the later years Quite the accomplishment though. I'm pretty sure my wife would disown me

I think my personal reason is I was lucky to start off with getting all of Series 1, and continued the habit. Call me a completist, but so far I do have the 16 from every series released, and even a couple extras of my fav figs. I have also managed to use the feel method on every series but the first (never hit stores in my area, got the set of Kijiji). It also only takes me a few minutes to go through a complete box by that method. I still can't understand why people don't use this method instead of the hard to read dots (Patience is probably a key thing here ) I know that I will never own every Lego set ever made, but completing this theme would be nice touch.

LEGO in Film & TV: Index of Appearances

I saw this tonight as well and laughed pretty good! They even had a "pick-a-brick" wall in the last scene. I don't know what it would be called in the BLOCKO name though; "Wall-o-Block" maybe? -

Thanks to Homer_S tip I went to the St. Jacobs store today and felt my way through all 16 correct! Got doubles of the ones I love - Mechanic, Butcher, Robot, Statue & Sleepyhead. I have never got one wrong from any of the series by way of feeling the bags.......patience is the key. So far I am super impressed with the whole set, and might have to get me another Genie and Surgeon. Happy Hunting! -

Good to know! How many did they have there? And are you only allowed 16 per transaction? Might pop out there after work...... -
Wow - Just wow! I have not yet bought any of the modular buildings yet (other sets keep getting in the way ) but I think this will be the first one I get! Love the orange bricks, and the detail! Can't wait!

Nice build! By "building for them" do mean that this is your wedding gift to them? Might I suggest instead of using the 1x4 plate for the bridesmaid arms, maybe switch to a 1x4 tile? I am in a wedding in February and the colors are also red/black/white. The groomsmen are wearing ties however. Looks great - keep us updated on the finished product.

How much did you spend on Lego in 2011?
legomaniac83 replied to Legacy Man's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I spent probably close to $1500 for the year - thanks to the minifig series (I buy them by the box). Add in a few extras - Maersk Train, second hand finds - and it's got to be close to that total. Looks like 2012 will be around the same amount, unless my wife keeps me in check -
There is a topic about this Here. Lots of good ideas on storage and great reading.

Thanks for this!!! I updated the Google map with this location. Please continue to edit the map once you find more stores in the US fellow Eurobrickers!!! http://maps.google.ca/maps/ms?msa=0&msid=217429008578443841290.0004b4dda101c21c70a94 -
Oh don't get me wrong, I think it is a fair price considering that previous sets in this size range had less pieces, hence their $19.99 price. I am just a sucker for not paying full price for any of the Lego I buy. I will wait for it to go on sale, then jump at the chance to get it. TRU usually has 25% off City and such. Unless of course I am near a Lego Store - then the VIP points are a good added bonus. For example yesterday I picked up 5776 Log Cabin for $22 thanks to that Zellers 50% off coupon

Yes we totally do! These have not hit anywhere else but the UK. I know to start looking when they hit the US, and Canada gets them around a week or two later. The other maps before this were updated really well. Let's keep it up! -

You will need a google account to sign in. After that it's as easy as hitting the "Edit" button, Right clicking to add a Placemark, name the placemark and hit Save. Piece of cheese slope! -
Was in WalMart yesterday and noticed some of the new 2012 sets. Most notably were the Super Heroes Batman, The Joker and Green Lantern. ($17.99) Also spotted the 4434 Dump Truck as well. This is on my want list, but not for the $24.99 price tag And referring to those CARS sets, I bought the Lightning McQueen and Mater with a BOGO, which is still about $7 each. What can you do......
