Thanks, I was going for something simple, but instantly recognizable. And you built half a Titanic in LDD!?! That's crazy!

Just watched the trailer, I've seen a couple posters in theaters before, but after that trailer I'm still not entirely sure what it's about. I'm sure it won't be a bad movie, especially with such a great director, its just I'm a bit confused. Maybe I'll see it when it comes to DVD. That's what I do with most movies.

Built this on a whim, only took a couple of minutes or so, but when I was done I was satisfied. For I do not have enough pieces to build a minifig scale version of this. Main Pic: Overhead: A life raft capsizing: And the infamous iceberg itself: C&C welcome, as I believe it is my first miniscale creation. I actually kind of like building in this scale, I can build bigger scenes without having to have many parts.

Great work, it's pretty big. I like how clean it looks, normally I like at least a little litter and grime on MOCs like these, but you make it work here. And again, some how you make the colors work here, as normally a blue and red crane would look really out of place in reality.

So Jealous. I love all that detail on Tarful. Hopefully TLG will update the wookies, and make a couple others, like they did with the Ewoks!

Insulted you twice? Care to share? "Your gonna love my nuts."

Great job, it looks really realistic, in a green, army man, plastic way. As mentioned, do you have any other pictures of it? I would love to see more.

LEGO Prince of Persia Month - the Eurobricks Contest
Spyder replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Licensed
Awesome! Can't wait to get to the store to buy some PoP sets. (Just to get the feel of Middle-Eastern architect in Lego form) I love all three of the categories, great job making them! I just can't believe we got prizes donated from TLG, this must be an EPIC contest! -
In this picture, the green looks much darker and deeper: (not my image) However, Sand green just seems so much more attractive in Lego form. Believe me, I'm super glad that I'm able to add more dark green to my collection, it's just that along with the dark red, it seems to bold, as if it wasn't the beat up, rugged Slave I. Perhaps they should've used dark green and brown, not dark red, that would make things alot better. EDIT Also not my image: In this picture, it is sand green, which I feel signifies a dirtier, grittier ship, building from my point earlier: the Slave I is supposed to be rugged, not shiny, deep, dark colors.

No, no we haven't. What's your point?

Snap a few pics, then to the "To Be Organized" bin. The pieces are then organized back into my collection, ready to make a new MOC with. It's the Natural Lego Cycle. You didn't learn about it in science class?
-
w00t! Really though, I can't wait to pick up my first POP set soon. The theme looks great, and hopefully by the end of the month I'll have made at least made a few MOCs. BTW: we gonna have a contest?

First off, great review CopMike, and thanks. About the set itself, well, I'll probably get it, but it's nothing spectacular. Although I would really like getting my hands on those dark red and green pieces, I feel it's not the right color scheme for the Slave I. My favorite Slave I would have to be the 2006 version. I feel it has a perfect color scheme, and was a good price at $50. I do like the minifigures alot in this set, however, it uses basically the same design as the previous one. Not that it's a bad thing, but it could get repetitive. (Good thing the license is ending. )I do like Boba's new helmet, very sleek, but a bit too detailed. His old one was more generic and more "usable" for other mandalorians. (Also love his cape) I really don't like the new Han Solo in carbonite, waaaaay too detailed, and there's just something about it that makes it look megablocky. One other complaint is that it still has no interior, just another one of those ginormous missile launcher in the middle, and this time with flick-fires. Oh well, guess I'll just have to buy it anyways. Darn you TLG.

Although a great MOC, I'm sorry, but PLEASE do not make minifigures swear in your short comics. The reason is the same I hate hearing swearing in brick films: it's just so frickin hard to take it seriously once they swear. I mean, it's a plastic minifigure for crying outloud. It's almost cute when they swear! On to the MOC itself, I have to say, It is really well done. I love the vine whip Poison ivy has in her hand, and how you made the ground rocky. You also used a technique I've seen few times before for the vines holding batman. (The outer plastic rim that you tear off those leaf pieces.) EDIT: Just noticed the foliage coming up through the ground using technic bricks! Genius!

And one of those new 2x4 tiles instead of just a regular 2x4 plate.
-
I've never used the brick separator to get tiles off, only guitar picks, as said here, and in this thread. I just tried it though, and although it didn't fling the pieces half-way across the room like a guitar pick does, it made a sick snapping sound. I don't think it sounds very good for the pieces, but that doesn't mean I won't use it some other time.

Deer, one of the widest hunted animals, actually need to be hunted, simply because of over-birthing. Deer are actually flourishing in non-forest areas, and there populations are actually going way over the limit. Now, there are laws in place so that extinction never happens to these animals. There are two ways to control the deer population: hunting, or this. And I ain't gonna stop hunting. Also, please read this article for my point of view. From now on, please say what you mean, and mean what you say in your posts. (Talking to everyone here, this is just an example.) I don't really like it when people "suggest", as it can be taken so many ways. Like I said, say what you mean. And as you said, this is a very touchy subject, so let's all keep it civil. I actually really enjoy talking to others about this subject, and hope that other people might talk too. Talk, as in no heated arguments. So let's keep this thread friendly.

As much as I think it looks like a new sand color, let's make history here, and name a color after an AFOL. I think we should call it Svelte-was-wrong-color. We now have a color named after the greatest AFOL of all time- Svelte! (I know, I'm a suck-up. )
-
Thanks. Once they come out, I'll try my luck by just feeling, but if that doesn't work, I'll just buy a whole box. Of course, it's hard to be dissapointed with whatever minifigure you get, they're all so great!
-
First off, I am an avid hunter, and I enjoy it very much. I do not torture animals, they are taken out with one shot. It's called Hunting Ethics. Second, your post contradicts itself. It says that without the trees, there would be tons of animals without a home. Then you say that tomorrow's generation won't have the wildlife because they are all extinct because of over-hunting. Not trying to be rude or start anything, just you should think about editing your post so it doesn't contradict itself.

Just wanted to re-post my question, since it wasn't answered earlier: Is it possible to tell what minifigure is in the bag by touch or sight?
-
Great review, I just have one question. Can you feel through the bags to at least get a good guess at what minifigure is inside? Although I really want to collect them all, it would be nice to buy some duplicates of the ones I love.
-
I really like that wrap that goes around the minifigure, too bad Lego doesn't make things like that. That Katana looks alot like the new Lego Katanas in the Prince of Persia sets.

Global Warming explains there was snow in Texas earlier this year. Gimme a break, 10 years ago, they were talking about Global Freezing, now it's Global Warming. Don't believe that garbage. (BTW, you can drive your Smart Cars around all you want, just know you might not have the best of luck in an accident. )

Wow, that really is the best misprint ever, The Darkness! I'm sure you want to keep it, (I would too) but it would fetch a hefty price on Ebay.
