The new one is by far better, and it gave Lego a good excuse to release some awesome new star wars sets! (Plus some new clone minifigs! )

I was just wondering, is the brick separator worth it's cost on lego.com? And if so, could someone kindly post pictures on how to use it?

Pretty much anything except technic and bionicle. I can't wait for the Space Police III and the new City sets though! They look amazing. My favorite theme was Batman, but since they stopped that line, I now have to find a new favorite. By the way, I am a little concerned about the quality of Lego in 2009, I hope they fix it, I haven't had anything wrong with any of my sets yet, but I have my fingers crossed.
