This is really a beautiful creation and I think it's also the first or second time that someone has built the house of Tom Bombadil. I really like the interior, it's always great to see some older LEGO Scala parts. But I do not think that LEGO would ever release the house of Tom Bombadil because he was not in the LotR movies and the techniques you have used don't really look like from an official LEGO set. Don't get me wrong, this is a fantastic creation with a lot of nice little details but it doesn't look like a set that LEGO would sell.

MEC Category C: "Farewell, King under the Mountain"
Wat Tambor replied to Wat Tambor's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thanks a lot for all the positive comments, I really appreciate your feedback! Well, the only new minifigs in this MOC are Bard, at least the torso and legs are new and Dain, but I agree these new Hobbit minifigs are gorgeous. -

I want to present you my second entry for Category C of the Middle Earth Contest. It is based on the eight chapter of Tolkien's "The Hobbit" and some scenes of Peter Jackson's second "The Hobbit" movie. Thanks for viewing and good luck everyone!

Fantastic work on that entry! It's great to see that you have managed to include Smaug in a build that is built just on 16x16 studs. I really love the dragon and all the golden pieces you have used there. The scene looks like I have imagined it while reading the book.

Brilliant creation / set! Seeing this makes me a bit angry and sad at the same time because there won't be any Gondor sets and no RotK Witch-king and Eowyn. The play-features are nice but as the others said, there is missing some color next to the grey pieces but if this were an official set I would totally buy at least one if not two.

Here is my entry for Category C of the Middle Earth Contest, maybe I'll do a second entry but I don't know if I can finish it in time. Everyone who has read the book will easily recognize it and no there is no spoiler, because the book is more than 70 years old and every true Tolkien or Middle Earth fan should know the story. Though this is quite a sad scene, it is one of my favorite ones from the book because at the end there is finally peace between men, dwarfs and elves. Good luck everyone!

Yes, a Middle Earth tag, something like the Eye of Sauron or the One Ring would be super cool!

I wish you all the best for your time in the military and I hope you will return safe to the LEGO community! I would gladly take them

Really nice entry for category C and congratulations for getting blogged on TBB. This is truly a nice entry but is the conversation from the book or from the second movie, I don't remember it although I have re-read the book just a week ago.

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Wat Tambor replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Hehe, aren't they cute? Can't wait to see the final version! -
Fantastic creation soccerkid! I really love the sigil of Mitgardia on the floor, that looks great but the rest of the room is nice too. It is also great to see that you have added the GoH characters from some other eurobricks members. But isn't there something missing on the table next to the throne? At least it looks like that there is missing something because of the studs.

I bought some new Hobbit sets but the Battle of Five Armies is ridiculously expensive here in Germany but it comes with fantastic minifigs. 79015 Witch-king Battle 79017 The Battle of Five Armies

Congratulations, I wish you guys good luck! -
I have another question about category C. I know that Bilbo's book is "The Hobbit" and Frodo finishes it with "The Lord of the Rings", do we have the choice to build something from LotR too or can we only build scenes from the Hobbit?

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Wat Tambor replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Hmm, when you click on one of the fields it sais that you must create an account and login to view the part list. That must be new because in the past you saw the parts without an account but I have not visited the site for some time. -
Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Wat Tambor replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
You got a PM. The sets are quite expensive in the LEGO stores, especially here in Germany. Maybe you should buy a few parts from the PaB wall, here you can see the inventory of the walls: http://www.wallofbricks.com/ -
What a fantastic build this is, especially the shape of the roof and the textures of the house wall are really nice to look at. But the landscape looks great to, I love the colors you have used in this build, this colors work so well together. This creation is quite an inspiration to me!

Book II Challenge III Dwarven Affairs
Wat Tambor replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
I'll join side with the Dwarves. For category B, can I build something that is smaller than 32x32 but still bigger than 16x16? -

Wat Tambor replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice creations from all of you, especially that collab is great. I have won the Hersir of Mitgardia / Hersir of Archers challenge some time ago, now I wanted to ask if my GoH character is the Hersir of Archers or the minifig that I have won? -
I can only agree with the others, the landscaping is fantastic, especially the rockwork. It's nice to see that you use some older LEGO Castle minifigs but I think they don't fit in this scene, because this old minifigs are less detailed than the new ones and a scene like this one, with such a detailed landscape could do with some more detailed minifigs. I hope you undestand what I wanted to say.

I guess you are talking about decals for Gondor soldiers? But why? There are shields with a tree emblem and you have used them yourself in some of your Castle builds. I think these shields from the CMF-series work well for Gondor though the background of the tree is not grey like in the movies but green.

For category C it sais: Does that mean that the scene we build has not to be from the book but from our own imagination?
