  1. Thanks for the clarification.
  2. Are we allowed to enter the Colossal Castle Contest on Classic-Castle.com with our challenge entires? Because category A of the Dwarves' Quest would fit perfectly for the "Miscellaneous - Small Creation" category.
  3. Hi everyone, here I want to present you my first ever custom minifig, it's for the Colossal Castle Contest XII over on Classic-Castle.com, created for the "Custom Castle Figure" category. Normally I am against cutting and painting LEGO but for this category I made an exception because I really don't know how to create a custom minifig without cutting or painting something. - Aragorn, The Two Towers CCCXII - Rohan Soldier by -Wat-, on Flickr CCCXII - Rohan Soldier by -Wat-, on Flickr I hope you like it.
  4. Has the player index been updated since the last episode? Because I am sure that my XP-count is higher than just 16 points.
  5. That's an interesting challenge and the tag looks great too. Since we have to post both entries in one thread, are we allowed to connect the two builds? Because I am planning to do two 16x16 vignettes and it would be cool if I could connet them with those hinge bricks -> http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3831 and http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3830
  6. A really nice entry and a clever way to infiltrate the meeting of the dwarfs. The rockwork in this build looks great, there are some nice textures and curves.
  7. What a nice and unique entry this one is! I think I have never seen Ent women before but the one you have build looks great. Treebeard's story that the Ent women disappeared always made me sad but now I am glad to see that they have returned. Good luck in the contest!
  8. Very well done! What I really like about this creation is the SNOT ground, that carpet is just beautiful. But I mixing light flesh and yellow minifigs looks weird. If I were you I would just use only yellows or only light flesh minifigs. Nice entry nonetheless!
  9. Thank you guys! It's great to hear that you both like the architecture, that's a great motivation.
  10. Though it's not from the LotR trilogy this one is a nice creation and would make a pretty nice little set for 15$ or so. Especially the minifigs are nice - great combos there!
  11. Well that set looks awesome! If this one were an actual LEGO set I would certainly buy it. The choice of minifigs is great for a set of that size and you can never get enough Orcs. I also like the play-features like the little catapult it reminds me a bit of the catapult from the Helm's Deep set for Gimli. And of course the Balrog also looks great, it is really well built but if LEGO would release a set like this I hope they will do a brick-built Balrog or a giant figure like the Cave Troll or Goblin King. As is said before, this is a really nice entry. Good luck in the contest!
  12. That's a computer generated image? I think, no I know, that this is brick build you can clearly see that. The only thing Disco did was editing a blue background with Photoshop or some other software.
  13. Wow, what a nice creation this is! The choice of colors, the textures of that beautiful house and the all the nice different trees are a true pleasure to look at. But I don't know if this fits the description of the category because Gandalf didn't stay in Middle Earth. He sailed together with Frodo, Bilbo, Elrdond and Galadriel to Valinor an never returned to Middle Earth.
  14. This is a really nice creation and also a great scene in the movie. To be honest, I didn't like the second "Hobbit" movie but this scene was great because of the colors and the visual effects and you have captured that scene pretty well. Good luck in the contest!
  15. Fantastic, a truly amazing entry for the set category! This creation really look like a set that LEGO could release or even better. It's great to see that you have included some of those useless play-features that most kids seem to like. The spiders with six legs ( ) are also quite nice and look way better than the ones from the Mirkwood Spiders set though yours are still looking like they are from an official set what is great. If this werer a real set I think I would buy it.
  16. To complete my "Hobbit" dwarf collection: 79010 - The Goblin King Battle
  17. This vignette is really well built, maybe the forced-perspective didn't work out like you wanted it but it still looks great. The SNOT landscape does also look great and the waterfall is a nice little detail. The Bilbo minifig is also quite nice, is it from the new set with Smaug or from that collector's edition BR/DVD? Maybe you could have added some snow (white bricks) to the peak of the mountain but besides that it's a lovely creation, one of the best of category C!
  18. Let those people grumble about the tree design, I think it looks great. It's something completely different than all those trees with leaves we see every day. Maybe the tree looks a bit simple and clean but considering how many people faved the photo it seems like there are also quite some people who like that design. I really like this creation it fits perfectly for the category because it's quite a peacful scene and also a great combo of Galadriel and Arwen parts (my favorite two LotR minifigs ). Nonetheless a second entry for that category would be great. I am a big fan of your Middle Earth creations and I really can't get enough of them.
  19. It's a bit late but better late than never: Crongratulations Rebels! You had some great entries for this challenge and maybe deserved it a bit more to win than the Empire. That Boba tag would have looked great but I am also fine with the Death Star hologram tag.
  20. Yes, as the others said this is a really nice entry for category C. My favorite part is the furniture and the floor, I really like the woodwork there and the carpet is also well done. I also like the "roof" with all the different slopes and mushrooms are always a nice little detail in LEGO creations. The only thing that bothers me a bit is the tree, the trunk is a bit too thin in comparison with the big tree we all know from the LotR and Hobbit movies.+ Good luck in the contest!
  21. Thanks a lot for all the nice comments! It's great to see that you like this little build. Yes I know, we talked about it some time ago. I decided to build this scene because no one has built it before (at least I think so) and it's not that ordinary scene that you would expect when you think of "Hobbit" creations. Thank you, that is quite a compliment!
  22. Thank you for the comments! I found some of those black tail pieces from the old Alpha Team series in the basement and found out that this pieces are great for tree-building.
  23. Yes, like Mutant Orc said it is always great to see personal interpretations from the book rather than the ones from a movie. I really like this little vignette and it makes more sense that Sauron forges the Ring without wearing his heavy armor.
  24. Nice! Maybe the set hast a few pieces too much for the seize but it looks great and could easily be a 15€ (a lot cheaper in US-$) set. The minifigs fit in this set and the play-features are quite nice too - well done!
  25. I am not a judge but it sais: I don't think that this is allowed but I don't know for sure. If I can manage to create a set before the deadline I'll go for something that looks like an official LEGO set just to be sure that it counts for the contest.
