Thanks for the info Mark *y* Is the battery box the same shape as the one that came with 8287 Motor set ? Am I correct in assuming that these new motors cannot be run from an old style battery box as the connectors do not look compatible if this is a correct assumtion then they will not work with the available NXT convertor cables as these are designed for the 2x2 connector block

My local shop did not have any in at the weekend so I have ordered it from S@H should be dispatched on thursday :-D

I recently bought the Technic Power Puller 8457 from 2000 in a local department store.

Check out Lego's own educational website it gives addresses of local suppliers of dacta. I know in the UK there are a couple of websites that will sell these kits to the general public.

I picked up the new UK catalogue today. A third of it is duplo which was a surprise and No Aquaraiders |-/ but there was adverts for Castle and Mars Mission on the back pages. The bizzare thing was that the Lego shop had a huge Aquaraiders display it seems strange that they did not appear in the catalogue

Those are great MOC's I had been looking at the pictures on brickshelf before logging onto Eurobricks. I am a big fan of Technic in fact 90% of my collection is Technic and I do build MOC's and have got lots of ideas but I dont get the time very often to put the ideas into bricks. :-(

This does not surprise me at all Most of my local toy shops sell both Lego and Megablocks the area give to MB was far greater than that given to Lego so there was more variety to choose from. The other thing I noticed was that Lego had sold out most of the stock before christmas but there was still shelf loads of MB left for the January sales. One Toys r US I went into had virtually all the shelves that are usually full with Lego full with MB with hardly no Lego to be found. >:-( It is not hard to see why Lego is pushed into second place when even if people want to buy it they can't maybe with the restructuring of the company these supply problems will be solved.

I picked up Viking Longboat 7018 50% off at local department store.

It would not be a good transition to NXT, that new battery box has the old 2x2 connectors which are not compatible with the standard NXT connectors unless you buy the expensive adaptor cables which were targeted at the educational market. The new motors are interesting there appear to be two different sizes but why round this makes building into a model difficult. On your other point surley the only reason that we dont get propper beams in technic any more is that they are used up on star wars and Exoforce sets :-D

WOW! More great sets for the summer that house is great. Ive been thinging of building a Big wheel from technic for a while I might just get this instead. can anyone with the remote trains tell if this is the same remote or a different one

Awesome! *sweet* I can't wait for more details of the remote dozer a definite purchase. the Harvester looks good aswell Its really good to see Lego come up with some more orignal ideas rather than another digger!

I dont know if this has been posted yet but the Lego shop in Milton Keynes has a lot of the new sets in stock. They included Star Wars Y wing Fighter, Imperial Landing Craft All the new creator sets The technic Snow mobile Some Aqua Raiders There were probably others that I missed but I was on a christmas shopping mission with my wife and was not allowed to look for long.

I have not been for a couple of weeks but last time I went I think they had both those sets. *y*

My wife bought me the new Technic fire engine for my birthday :-D
