Angst over more blue pins
Ickelpete replied to Dannnohhh's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Personally I wish they would make the pins in all the basic colours and prehaps reserve grey for the non-friction pins although the last few set I have bought the non-friction pins have been tan in colour *wacko* There should be more coloured axles as well? What do you think about Tan gears as in the new dune buggy -
Another great review from Dunamis Thanks! I will get it if I can find it on sale!!

New TECHNIC sets for 2008
Ickelpete replied to Conchas's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Finally some pics *sweet* I like the look of the excavator I am excited about the Linear Actuators which will offer much better control of such vechicles no more crane arms crashing back to the ground as the air leaks out. The telehandler also looks good there seems to be some flexible link to the front stablizer feet. The off roader is a big disapointment firstly lots of Panels >:-( and it looks like the is no remote control although the end of the box is missing in the picture. It seems a bit overkill to have power functions just to operate a winch. The pole switch is a great addition and the lights a a great touch I guess they have been developed for the new trains. Overall some great sets to look forward to but I am surprised there is no remote controll set in this years lineup :-( anyway we do get a poster in each set to make up for it :-D 2008 ON -
Do you keep your Lego Boxes?
Ickelpete replied to RememberTheLittleGuy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I keep all my boxes I follow the stack one box inside another method which is easy for new sets older sets with plastic trays are just stored in the loft. -

Ickelpete replied to paul_delahaye's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
These are now available at UK S@H and they are supprisingly cheap -
The Lego store in Milton Keynes UK has a sale on at the moment they have Mindstorm Accessories for half price Including motors and sensors. They also have some starwars/Batman and Harry potter reduced but stocks are limited. I also noted they have a few of the new sets in stock including the impulse sets and creator.

Technicopedia
Ickelpete replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Great site *y* Blakbird I hope you get time to finish it as you sure have a lot of sets to cover. I remember scanning the web for such a site when I first came out of my dark ages and as a Technic fan I am sure this will be a valuable resource. Keep up the good work -

2008 Technic Line Up
Ickelpete replied to paul_delahaye's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I have both the 599 and Enzo and there is not much difference really they both have similar details If the poll that took place on Lugnet is anything to go by, bearing in mind that most of next years releases seen so far were in the list, then it will be farm or construction based. The big problem I can see with the IR car is the steering TLC would need to develop some kind of servo as used in the previous Radio control sets. Lets hope they have something in development X-D -
2008 Technic Line Up
Ickelpete replied to paul_delahaye's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Both the 599 GTB and the Enzo were a bit disapointing in terms of funtionality. I would like an 1:8 Enzo with full suspension and gear box as 8448. I agree with Sinner while TLC hold the Ferrari licence I doubt if we will see a non Ferrari technic car. There is probably a price point issue as the Licence sets seem to be more expensive than non licence equivalents maybe this is the reason for lack of functionality. -
What an amazing set X-O X-O This really take me back to my childhood the first set I was ever given was the town plan from 1963 it had belonged to my cousin. I cant wait for 2008

2008 Technic Line Up
Ickelpete replied to paul_delahaye's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yes I agree over the last few years Lego have released three smaller Technic sets in January then three Bigger sets in September. I noticed the truck is quite small it is only as wide as the battery box about 12 studs so definetly a cheaper set. I would love an IR vechicle Especially if Lego could come up with a power funstions steering device to make life easier. Check out this article at LUGNET Here for ideas of what might be comming the 2 smaller sets in the 2009 catalogue appear on the list IR Car on *y* -
I bought my first Star Wars set today 10178 Walking AT-AT mainly because I like Lego sets that do something. *y*

I am enjoying reading your review Dunamis I'm not usually a SW fan but this set is amazing. I saw a completed set for the first time today they have one on display at the Lego shop Milton Keynes UK. It is difficult to appreciate the size of this set until you see one in the flesh. Can't wait for the rest of the review *sweet*
