  1. Yuuuup. Oh well, they can deal. Vader's gonna sell like hotcakes. I'm impressed at the quality that went into these, much better than the DC or Marvel Ultrabuilds.
  2. Yeah, people have mentioned it. Now we aren't sure if they're that color because they're draining the element from the mask (likely) or if perhaps they're corrupting the mask with their own power, or some variations thereof. And Skull Grinder gets pretty close to Tahu (and his trans-orange mask!), but yeah, Gali's out of luck.
  3. They stick the mask symbol on everything, so it's hard to tell, but then again, we do have undead creatures rising from the ground... where else would they come from? =P I notice the Skullers have the speckled prototype parts of their new stuff rather than the smooth finished versions. I always secretly hope we get the textured pieces because they look more interesting.
  4. Bit disappointed about the Skull Army, but hopefully it's just reused designs. Anyway, still looking good. Atrocious Toyfair posting, per usual, but I'm still looking forward to it all.
  5. Luke's pretty bad, but Vader is top-notch. Will definitely be picking him up.
  6. Wait, people disliked Stormer XL? I freaking loved that set! Well layered, cool looking, good new pieces, admittedly a bit weird in the shins, but it was a new piece so whatever... I didn't realize people disliked him =P. Aaaanyway tomorrow is when we'll see some BIONICLE pics, yeh?
  7. Nickelodeon usually has microsites for LEGO lines, but primarily in other regions. TV content differs from place to place, so for Russia, in this case, a BIONICLE microsite made sense for the network.
  8. Haha, Turkish this time, I just saw. Good show, LEGO, good show.
  9. Then everybody is awful because it's a good joke. Let us destroy them all!
  10. Fire Lord says "give me more power"... Tahu says "I have the power"... #HF2015
  11. I never quite got why people felt the need to comment on this... it's not like anybody's holding out secret information and are waiting to release it (DV might be, but that's another issue entirely =P). If you want the topic to pick up again in activity, introduce a new point of discussion. For instance, have any of the Russian BIONICLE fans been following the Nickelodeon microsite? I have no idea what's going on in it or what it's for (apparently there's even more interesting stuff if you can log in!) but I've mostly gotten some neat images from it... like FLYING TAHU
  12. If Kelly hadn't fought so damn hard for BIONICLE in 2009 it wouldn't have gotten a ceremonial ending either. I'm more depressed that there wasn't anybody like that willing to fight hard enough for Hero Factory. But I do look forward to the reboot in 2025~
  13. "Are you a skull spider?" "No?" "Okay here you go"
  14. BIONICLE has been planned for three years, not necessarily greenlit. Constraction usually does what its supposed to, and I'm not seeing any budget breaking expenses (they've been keeping things restrained, apparently), so we'll very likely get a second year, and probably a third one after that.
  15. Unrelated to the current discussion but LEGO finally updated the BIONICLE Magazine Insert to be the right file. And it's pretty cool. Also gives a good look of the summer teaser, which makes it incredibly apparent that it's Skull Grinder's mask.
  16. Yes and no. Since you live in the US, you really don't have to worry. It's not like LEGO just gathers up the leftover stock from their EU and UK stores and then ships it out to the states. They'll have their own allotment and production. However, since this represented an online order, then it depends on what warehouses they come from (I'm not particularly familiar with LEGO's facility layout), but it still shouldn't be a problem. Point being don't worry; they'll have enough and then some. Just make an order (or go to your local store) in early March, and everything will be cool.
  17. Since we've covered a broad range of discussion topics in the past 24 hours alone, I'm having trouble understanding which "subject" you're referring to.
  18. Well, the site specifically says that it's for controlling the Skull Spiders, so it's "canon". But I pointed out earlier that it's an easy thing to omit from the episodes, so we probably won't see it again.
  19. Most of the supplementary material refers to the Toa having elemental powers, which is why they're called "Masters" of their respective elements; the gold masks are then meant to be that much more of a desirable item because they make the Toa even MORE powerful. So since the Toa are basically in berserk mode on over 9000 power with the golden masks, it's not too surprising LOSS was such a pushover =P. Since Ekimu and Makuta use anvils as part of their job, it's a good motif to have.
  20. What, like the original design was ever elegant?
  21. It's not even ambiguity at that point, it's people being unable to make obvious logical conclusions for themselves without approval. And yes, once that goes away, we'll be so much better for it. If people had subscribed to Hero Factory, though, they might have prepared for such a thing :U I don't think it's a weird debate in and of itself. G1 obviously handled the topic less than gracefully by being inconsistent in its portrayal, so returning fans would want some clarity. But if "father to son" and "generations" aren't enough clarity for people, then I don't really know what to say.
  22. I meant that if they're robots, "building" each other (in a literal sense) is less weird, but if they aren't, it makes it very strange. Heck, Tahu putting himself together at the beginning of G1 is still a bizarre image. (also, given the "confirmation", more or less, of a machine that builds Matoran... why has nobody made Hero Factory crossover jokes yet)
  23. Hey, I fully acknowledge that childbirth, for all its emotional beauty, is one of the most physically disgusting things I can think of =P. My point being that I'm assuming these guys aren't full robots; it's sort of cyclical in that "it would be gross if they were robots so they can't be robots otherwise that would be gross", but we've been presented with the simple notion that there is at least a concept of "father to son". If we take that at face value (which I'm inclined to do, otherwise we're back at "omg the universes are connected!"), it means a very basic sense of reproduction, if not in so many words. You could argue that "construction" would be its own form of lineage, but I feel like that's a very different theme than what they're going for; unlike G1, where they're all just AI anyway, you'd literally be making life from nothing. That sort of added complexity, which drove G1 fans nuts as it is, seems like something they'd want to avoid.
  24. They're not necessarily going to "confirm" it in the way we expect them to (although that's such a G1 way of thinking anyway), but the usage of "father and son", to me, is more confirmation than we'll ever need. Just saying that there are such things as parents and offspring should not and, as far as I know, is not going to lead to too many awkward conversations. It was different for G1 because these sort of elements stuck out at the get-go; a large population of small beings can't be related to the incredibly small population of larger beings. If Hewkii/Macku hadn't been a thing in the MNOG, I doubt there ever would have been such a huge interest in the topic anyway. But plenty of other lines deal with it just by presenting the incredibly simple idea of lineage. And I don't quite get the Ninjago/Chima examples; I don't pay attention to the lines, granted, but I know they both have father/son dynamics (and sibling dynamics), and it's not a confusing thing there. If you draw attention to it and present it in a way that is different from a child's point of view (like BIONICLE G1 did) then yes, that can be confusing, but the target audience won't completely stupefied by the idea of "mother, father, child".
  25. See, I think that's OVERthinking it. When you say "parent to child", that generally doesn't raise any red flags; kids understand that they have parents. I would think the idea of parents literally constructing their child is a lot more disturbing (emotionally, not physically; babies are gross) than just the very basic idea of generational reproduction.
